Me from Georgia
Hi My name is Tom and I am from Georgia and have been a member of the Church since 1988. Married for Time and All Eternity to my beautiful wife and we have 4 Children with the oldest serving a mission in the Albuquerque New Mexico area. Currently he is serving in the Chaparral area which borders El Paso TX. We are a family of Cartwrights/Barkleys so to speak, in that, when one has a problem we all have a problem and when one is or has accomplished great things, we all share in that. My second oldest a beautiful daughter turned 19 last July and is set to be married for time and all eternity come 21 April.
We are looking for a way to move back to the West(Inter Mtn Rocky area) to be with the larger concentration of Saints. Where we live in Georgia, we are in the extreme minority as we live in a stronghold of the Souther Baptists. Our Ward is the largest in the Stake with an active Sacrament count of around 250-300. We all love the gospel of Jesus Christ and try our best to live to be worthy to stand before him upon his return and have him say to us, "well done......"

Re: Me from Georgia
Welcome! I hope you find this to be a wonderful place to visit as I do. I too want to move to the Rockey Mountains, being from Portland Oregon surrounded by a bunch of Obama worshiping communists is not my idea of a great place to be in these last days.
Blessings!

Oklahoma here. We have a lot of SBC'ers here too. I feel that makes it harder to be "socially LDS". I prefer it that way, though others here love them some Utah.

Lots of new folks joining the discussion -- Welcome, Tom!
Please jump right in, would you? if you don't mind my asking:
1. How do you feel about Ron Paul?
2. How do you feel about a pre-emptive strike on Iran?
3. Have you ever heard of the free-fall drop of WTC7 (for over 100 feet) on 9-11-2001?

Dr Jones, why are you asking all of the new people if they support your point of view?DrJones wrote:Lots of new folks joining the discussion -- Welcome, Tom!

Re: Me from Georgia
Nan, there were three questions. None of them asked the new people if they supported his point of view. Being new, they may not even have a clue what his point of view is. Do you have a beef with Dr. Jones point of view? Do you have a beef with Dr. Jones stating his point of view? Chill... :ymhug:Nan wrote:

Re: Me from Georgia
No, Nan, I did not ask them if they support my point of view -- I asked questions to learn about these good folks and from them, to get better acquainted. (Thanks friendsofthe ...)Nan wrote:Dr Jones, why are you asking all of the new people if they support your point of view?DrJones wrote:Lots of new folks joining the discussion -- Welcome, Tom!

Note that kia ora on another thread understood and responded openly and clearly:
great lead in questions here Dr Jones,
My feelings on Ron Paul is that he is a staunch constitutionalist and because of this alignment, if elected, would most likely be the one that would bring about the most positive change than any other candidate in the race. In order of greatest change it would be; Foreign policy, economic fiscal policy, Big government reform. Can he beat Obama?. No I belive he cannot, especially not with the media circus in town.
A pre-emptive strike on Iran because they are getting into nuclear energy would be the worst thing that could take place, in my view Nuclear is inevitable for all countries - The redirection of the war chest funds should go into education, specificly 3rd world countries. A long and sustained investment in education (truth / knowledge of the lord)is key in avoiding conflicts now and forever... A stike against Iran should only be done on the defensive and if done so must be powerful and decisive, none of this hanging around for the next 10 years business.
I have heard of Building 7 unfortunately I don't know enough about it to comment.
