Shameful debate

I watched the Republican debate last night and was absolutely disgusted with the way Dr. Paul was treated. He was treated poorly by the moderators too. They were ALL trying to get in their cheap shots for a laugh.

I was particularly ashamed of Mitt Romney accusing Dr. Paul of getting his info from Al Jazeera. Fortunately the crowd booed him for it. Dr. Paul is more of a hero to me for having to deal with these people. My heart went out to him. My wife was about in tears as they were picking on him and she doesn't even really follow politics.

A price will be paid for that poor treatment. A humbling is in store.

To Mock is a dangerous thing.

Ether 12: 23, 25-26
23 And I said unto him: Lord, the Gentiles will mock at these things, because of our weakness in writing; for Lord thou hast made us mighty in word by faith, but thou hast not made us mighty in writing; for thou hast made all this people that they could speak much, because of the Holy Ghost which thou hast given them;
• • •
25 Thou hast also made our words powerful and great, even that we cannot write them; wherefore, when we write we behold our weakness, and stumble because of the placing of our words; and I fear lest the Gentiles shall mock at our words.

26 And when I had said this, the Lord spake unto me, saying: Fools mock, but they shall mourn; and my grace is sufficient for the meek, that they shall take no advantage of your weakness;

2 Chr. 36: 16
16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

Job 12: 4
4 I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.

Jer. 38: 19
19 And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

Gal. 6: 7
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

1 Ne. 1: 19
19 And it came to pass that the Jews did mock him because of the things which he testified of them; for he truly testified of their wickedness and their abominations; and he testified that the things which he saw and heard, and also the things which he read in the book, manifested plainly of the coming of a Messiah, and also the redemption of the world.

1 Ne. 8: 27
27 And it was filled with people, both old and young, both male and female; and their manner of dress was exceedingly fine; and they were in the attitude of mocking and pointing their fingers towards those who had come at and were partaking of the fruit.

Alma 21: 10
10 And it came to pass as he began to expound these things unto them they were angry with him, and began to mock him; and they would not hear the words which he spake.

Before I left for work this morning, I offered a special prayer to the Lord for Ron Paul to be able to weather the storms that will come his way over the next 10 months. I think it might be a good idea for us all to designate a fast day for this man. It's obvious Washington and the media are out to make him seem like a kook to people so that they won't vote for him. Pathetic. What Romney did was absolutely disgusting and I am becoming more and more fed up by the day with all of these other clowns pretending to be candidates and the controlled media getting their jollies by taunting him. It is beyond classless.

What do you guys say? Should we organize a day of fasting for Ron?

Yes. The prayer of the righteous accomplishes a lot!

We have been adding his name to the prayer rolls.

And praying as a family, so I am totally game!

I am not American but I believe that Ron Paul is dry LDS and I am ready to fast for that man.

Hi everyone, I have been reading the posts here for a long time now and the opportunity to fast for a great cause broke my silence :D

I served my mission in B.C. Not sure if you're that far west or not, but keep posting. Glad you're here.

Count me in for a fast. Ron Paul is doing a great work. He needs the support of all of us.

Yes welcome DOZ! I enjoyed the Cardston Temple vision I read not long ago. Your handle reminds me of the song "Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy..."

What is the secondary image in your avatar? Architectural arches?

In NZ, the MSM has had absolutely no mention in anyway whatsoever of Dr Ron Paul. If International coverage of the US was anything to go by, All you guys get to choose from for president are Hillary Clinton and Obama. Come to think of it, the only time I have seen him even mentioned on TV was on the Daily Show, where John Stewart somewhat defended him from the Smears of A neocon advisor of Rudy Guliani, And A very fair interview with Him in June 2007. besides that nothing at all!
Thank Our God for the Internet! :D

Thank you all for your warm welcome!

Yes, the Cardston vision is quite unique and we will be moving there in a few months. We bought a house there and are anxious to be living there.
I don't know that song but it sounds funny :D

I am so sorry but I don't understand your question regarding my avatar?

The picture (your avatar) looks like two exposures overlapped. The one being someones eye, and the other being a grey tinted double arch vignette of some kind?

Welcome DOZ, I will be fasting for Ron Paul and for the message he brings... liberty. I'll also be knocking on doors and hanging signs. so will this be just a fast Sunday thing or a "special fast" I vote for both.

I took this avatar in the samples ld conservative had.

I liked the eye...it made me think of me and how I was just reading the posts without participating until this inspired idea of a collective fast. I say inspired cause that is really what I believe it was :D

I really do like Ron Paul and I am so disappointed in brother Romney. I pray people will not think that LDS folks are like him...following the flow :(
