I have been reading

Post by gardenerof12 »

Hi,
I thought I would start participating, after reading for months, and learning so much. I have read both Snuffer's Second Comforter and Pontius' Following the Light after recommendations from posts on this forum. I really enjoyed those books, and learned so much. I am a married, stay-at-home mother of 12 (my oldest is married with a baby, the other 11 are still at home) 3 boys, 9 girls, ages 25-5. We have homeschooled from the beginning. However, my husband has had some serious health problems for the last 8 years, so we have used the on-line public "school at home" for the last 3 years. As a homeschooler, we had co-op classes using FHE lessons from the John Birch Society, written in 1973. I think that was what first opened my eyes that history may not be as it is written. We have also used the Uncle Eric books (Whatever Happened to Penny Candy by Richard Mayberry, and others) I especially learned from his books on Ancient Rome, World War I and World War II. Of course, we have used Skousen's books for years. We have a couple of acres in the midwest with some chickens, bees and are working on the garden and fruit trees. I was a convert as a teenager and have been dedicated to living the gospel of Jesus Christ since then.
