My husband and I have been doing a lot of research about the Missouri area, and where the tribes that were here have gone. Well, it looks like almost all of them are in Oklahoma. They have already set up their nations there.
So, I asked about this situation and what they thought about their land in Missouri. I got a very interesting answer.
Some "other" tribe will come here. They said that it was told by the elders long ago that a new tribe would form, that it would gather in the Missouri area. They said that they would be from every nation. I said, are you referring to the rainbow warriors? They didn't seem to know what I was talking about. LOL. So anyway, this area is for them.

The boundary lines are supposed to have been given since the anniversary of Wounded Knee. I am still looking for them.
I know it is North Dakota, South Dakota, and parts of Wyoming, Montana, and Nebraska.
I believe the web page is
http://www.lakotafreedom.com
I know they are redirecting that to their new site which escapes me at the moment.

Great site, LC. The boundaries of the "new" Republic of Lakota are shown here:

Cool!
I would like to understand if they are claiming ALL that land, including the yellow part...

From the Republic of Lakota site:
The ride began on December 15th in Standing Rock, the anniversary of Sitting Bull's death, and has traveled through fierce snowstorm and cold, the same conditions faced by the 357 mostly women, children and elder men at Wounded Knee Creek 127 years ago.
"The purpose is to ride the spirit trail of Chief Big Foot," said Tegihya Kte also known as Garry Rowland, leader of the riders and recent delegate of the Lakotah Freedom effort in Washington D.C.. "The Tree of Life died in Wounded Knee in 1890, and the ride was begun to mend the Sacred Hoop."
Riders ranging in age from 10 to 65 travel the footsteps of their Ancestors, along the way offering prayer for the women, children, the Elders, and the conditions the Lakotah people are forced to live under today. For the children, the ride is also a powerful introduction to the sacred relationship between the Lakotah and the horse and the courage their Ancestors took during their 13 day walk from the site of Sitting Bull's assassination to Wounded Knee.
"My sons and now my grandsons have participated in the ride,"shared Tegihya Kte. "They ride for our future and the self-determination of our people. "
The self-determination of the Lakotah now takes on powerful meeting as the Lakotah
Freedom Delegation traveled to Washington D.C. and withdrew the Lakotah from their treaties with the United States Government. The ride becomes an outward expression of sovereign Lakotah rights and spirituality.
Tegihya Kte said, "We don't want the government telling us what to do, we want to be free."
Lakotah Freedom delegate and Cante Tenza leader Canupa Gluha Mani (Duane Martin Sr.) agreed, "The Lakotah withdrawal in Washington D.C. brings real protection for our people today, exactly the real protection Big Foot sought for his people then."
We are the freedom loving Lakotah from the Sioux Indian reservations of Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana who have withdrawn from the constitutionally mandated treaties to become a free and independent country. We are alerting the Family of Nations we have now reassumed our freedom and independence with the backing of Natural,International, and United States law. Also from their site:
Aho! We've had more than half a million hits on our website in one week! Thanks for your interest and support!
Pilameya! Many thanks to all people who are sharing their support and solidarity with us. People from more than 100 different nations have visited our website. The whole world is watching!
(PS -- the new movie "National Treasure" mentions the Lakota and features a Mesoamerican treasure which was taken north and placed in the Black Hills... Wife and I and daughter saw it two days ago... This might add interest to what these Lakota are trying to do...)

I have realized that, I have been trying to figure out how to possibly do it given certain circumstances. Not just financial, but also responsibility.
If I am chosen as a delegate for my precinct I must do everything I can to stay here.. even if it means depleting savings until I fulfill that duty.
I am trusting in God that if I fight for liberty and sacrifice as much as I am about to, that he will bless me.
I also have taken on the commitment to be the Precinct captain here and have 1600 people I am responsible for.
Not to mention my commitment to my bishop for the little children we teach each Sunday. They are advancing us with the children to their next class.
My father, step-mother, 1/2 sister and 1/2 brother are all moving here this year, to Springfield. This is the side of my family that ALL the Cherokee and Eastern Sioux come from.
*IF* my father can find the right land for auction (acreage with several homes) Which is happening quite often really, then he will also bring My Brother J and his (soon to be)wife as well as my brother B and his wife and 4 children. If that happens, then I feel that the family tribe is what I am going to need to support.
I honestly believe that you guys are where you are for a VERY important reason, and that I am here for a reason as well.
People will need the knowledge and skills that we have.
And I do not doubt for a second that we are accomplishing the missions of Zion. Everyone on this site is. They may not know it yet, but they are awake and have been moved upon by the Holy Ghost.
Each location that we are will be essential. (I mean all of us on this site) And if anyone 'feels' that they need to go somewhere, I think they should.
Now, IF my father cannot find what he hopes to find, or the timing does not work out, then my family will have to rely on the windows of heaven opening in our behalf. And if the Lord directs me elsewhere, I will go. I have always given up/sold did whatever and obeyed. (at least I do so now after sufficient chastisement)

Darren: Very ambitious... can you outline the steps you propose (if you wish to disclose publicly)? Also, how much funding needed to buy land for the purpose you propose?
LC and Darren: my wife recently approved an amount from our modest savings to buy land/housing in Mo or nearby Nebraska... (she's not fond of Kansas...) Let me be specific, since we're brainstorming a bit here: perhaps $40K, if that will help. And I have a friend in Ut also "interested." Let's see how this goes...
Also -- LC, have not forgotten your request for DVD's... holidays and travel you know... will send soon.
Pls keep me/us informed about land/housing auctions in Mo... Actually we're most interested right now in NW Mo and SE Nebraska... Is there a link for such a thing, auctions of land/houses in the area? (Or related, inexpensive... We're used to fixer-uppers by now...)
Also, would be willing to consider "going in on" a purchase in the Mo/Ne area if there is an interest, some sort of arrangement with the types of people who frequent (via posts) this forum! Again, brainstorming... for fun, but also looking at options for a "landing spot" or refuge in that area.

Yes ambitious but very doable. There are other people here besides myself with a beginnings for such a refuge. There are several families here I am personally working with, some with land and/or businesses and we are building ties.
I moved here just over a year ago. Sold my home in Taylorsville, Utah and walked away from my business (Nomen Global Schools,
http://www.nomenglobal.com/ ) that had lost its opportunity for investment, and left it to my business partner and took a job at Northwest Missouri State University as its Chief Engineer. I purchased a fairly nice home here for $50,000.
My wife and my number one goal this year is to begin a new business. She is a former Utah Realtor, and currently has her own business selling mortgages for Hartland Funding. But this year we are setting our sights on acquiring some additional property and have proposed to ourselves a few different businesses that if chosen would work well in this community. We also have our farming co-op with the other families.
Generally my steps are to acquire property and business, work with my adult son or other like minded persons to help them fulfill their purposes, and I have my Alutiiq friend who says she will give us hands on help in converting the properties and business into Indian land.
This is from an earlier post:
Darren wrote:I have always been told by my family from when I was young that I was part Native American. My genealogy documents an ancestor of mine that is a full blooded Cherokee. I am mostly Norwegian, Irish and British but there was always this connection to Native America that I was left to ponder about.
A couple of years ago I went down to GeneTree.com on 17th South, West Temple in Salt Lake City and submitted for a genetic test. The results came back that I was 86% North European and the balance being mostly Native American. Now I had another proof of my Native American Ancestry.
I served a mission to Ireland and worked in areas specifically mentioned in my genealogy. I had plenty of exposure to that part of my British and Irish heritage from my missionary experience.
I became good friends with a Norwegian Man who gave me significant exposure to that part of my heritage. Of which I am most grateful.
About 3 years ago I began working with a woman who is a Chieftainess of an Alutiiq Tribe, she is chief of the Kitoi tribe of Koniag, Alaska. This was my first exposure to Native American heritage.
My new friend from Alaska spends most of her time traveling the world and representing her people in trading of the fishing industry her people are famous for and other natural resources under her control.
As I began to work with her I was amazed at what she told me. The Alaska Native Americans were never conquered like their southern cousins in the lower 48 U.S. were. The Alaskan Natives still own all the natural resources of Alaska. As the Alaska purchase by the U.S. never transferred these rights away from them.
My Alutiiq friend carries an Identification Card from her tribe that is accepted world wide. When foreign dignitaries fly into Alaska to visit her “Nation” they do not have to be stopped at any U.S. Customs, as they are a Suzerain Nation. When I began working with her I received an honorary membership in her tribe.
I started working with her with the idea that I and a friend of mine were going to purchase a school campus in Portland Oregon, do a land swap that swaps Indian land rights in Alaska with private land under political control in the U.S. This deal was well under way. But my main investor friend pulled out, ink allergy. I had to sell my home in Utah to cover my debts and moved, I continued on my journey in life by moving to Missouri.
I also learned from my Alutiiq friend that because I can prove that I have ANY Native American in me, that I can claim that heritage, even though I am not registered with any specific tribe. She said that you can always go down to the BIA office and register as a Lost Tribe.
Now here is where it gets interesting for you all, of any Native American decent, of even the smallest amounts. You have the right to do the same as she and I have been doing.
My Alutiiq friend has helped others to do this land rights swap all over this country. It is perfectly legal and is currently holding ground in a court case where this land swap was done on Long Island in New York, creating a native American land holding on Long Island, where she swapped the land rights from Alaska with land in the heart of Long Island. What she has effectively done is set up a Autonomous Native American Nation in the heart of the Financial Capital of the World.
http://web.archive.org/web/200411051748 ... /news3.htm
When my business deal to build a Suzerain Native American business in Portland, Oregon went cold as my business partner and I we were not able to purchase the land. (We had a business plan to have a major campus for NG Schools based in Provo, Utah. Where we would be free to bring in ESL students from all over the world and not have to worry about I-20 qualifications that the Office of Home Land Security was denying our students entrance through the U.S.A. in rout to our Suzerain Land. And the added benefit of not having to pay US taxes on our Suzerain land or for our Suzerain business.
After moving on from that failed attempt. My family moved from Utah to Missouri and I have had a hope of again setting up a school here in Missouri perhaps under the autonomy of Native American Suzerainity. But alas I want for other like minded people as it is a dream that has evaded my grasp. You wouldn’t happen to know anyone who isn’t allergic to ink when given a check? I am still connected with some billionaire investors but they seem to be allergic to ink when it comes to signing checks.
But I hope this gets the wheels spinning in your heads of the possibilities in eventually using your Native American blood line to help build up Zion.
God Bless,
Darren

My suggestion is to take a small vacation to visit the areas. Darren and I traveled here (NW MO) several times before narrowing down this area. We can talk more about this later if you are interested.
PS~ I sold real estate in SL County before moving here to finish my degree, plus other activities. I can get you in touch with a really good agent. I'm picky.

Before my wife and I moved here, and about 10 years previous to that we purchased our second home in East Carbon, Utah. It became our second home away from the chaos of the Wasatch Front, where I worked. We owned that home until about 2 years ago, when I sold it to my mother.
When we first started using the home in East Carbon we made friends with a family there, after a while, they made a suggestion to us (seeing what our real interests were). They strongly suggested that we take a vacation to northwest Missouri, where they had some friends living and a place that they also loved. Just after that suggestion I had a vision of relocating to NW Missouri and felt I was being inspired to begin looking there. So in the early fall of 1996 we got in our car and traveled to NW Missouri. I was convinced that because of my vision that I would relocate then after finding a suitable place, but while on our trip the promptings came to me that I still had a work to do in Salt Lake City.
We made other trips to NW Missouri in the following years, and my testimony grew to some day relocate, but the promptings remained for many years to stay in Salt Lake City. Finally 10 years later, it was obvious that all was done in Salt Lake City, of what I was prompted to stay and do, and now I was ready to move to Missouri.
So many amazing things have happened to me over the 10 years that I was prompted to remain in Salt Lake City. My wife and I have been blessed. But now we are here, and getting down to business.
My plan is to work with like minded people and make things, do things and serve each other.
I realize that Government, the top down variety that we have enslaving us is our enemy. But my first choice is to work in the system, working together in corporations. But like LoveChrist, the Indian option seem distant but doable.
My proposal is to do things by the established rules of the Government, but have a back up plan of jumping off the main train track onto a parallel train track that could be similar to the Township Movement or Indian Independence.
I am not a Prophet for more than me and mine, and I don’t know exactly where all this is leading to, I am just trying to do the best for me and mine, and I want to work with others who are like minded. So the door is open to you all.
The plan is to work, stay focused and succeed. All for one and one for all.
God Bless,
Darren

I only know about my area.
Darren, is there an auction site for your area?
Everyone else here are these:
http://www.billylong.com
http://www.billyland.com
There are a TON of trustee sales happening in little Buffalo, Mo. I have not looked there for awhile.
I did noticed that there are homes listed under $50,000 already, and that is not at auction.
So, it depends what you are looking for. Besides auction, the word of mouth seems to present the best deals. So I will pay more attention when people are talking. LOL
Also, I have found some options through
http://www.craigslist.com
There are people who have contacted me through there about owner financing etc.
http://www.ebay.com can be great too. I found a house for $5000 the other day.. in North Dakota!

Actually this was a woman selling this, and we went and saw it last night.
Definitely has potential.
Darren and C, What business would you suggest here?
The woman wanting to do the Co-op has a Wi-fi hub, and is thinking of having that be in addition to the used/rare books that she has for sell.
It is a HUGE place.
We discussed having a few different businesses in the same location.
It does need a lot of elbow grease, but we are looking into it. Is there anyway that C can help me know how to find out about liens and such on it?
And about all "due diligence" that we would need to do.
(This one appeals to us because it is still close enough to have Aaron keep his same job while we build a business)
The closest chapel is 24 miles away. Kind of like the situation we had when we lived in Elkland and drove to Bolivar for church.

She also has another building. And she wants to co-op that one too. Only it has 3 levels. And an elevator.
She was saying that the top floor in that one is 2000 sq feet.
The one that we are looking at is over 6500 total. It has a warehouse off the back. (Which she wants to make her living quarters)
There is the store space on the bottom, and then I cannot tell you how large the upstairs is, it is bigger then my house though.
There is space for a community garden behind it.
I think that it may work, with a lot of work.

Thank you much, Darren and LC... I'm looking at what 50K can buy in Western Mo... and it is impressive. That find of yours, Darren, remarkable... Lots of space and a basement, an apartment above...
I think that any LARGE city like Los Angeles would not be a wise place to live in the last days, with the portent of a storm building...
And my son served his mission in Mo. We drove out to pick him up, and we looked around... We've visited Adam Ondi, Far West, Independence, etc. I like the area generally. And we wouldn't have to cross the Rockies to get to Jackson County! (Not easy if cars/vehicles don't have fuel, or if roads are impassable due to roving bands or whatever.)

Hi all,
Since you are talking about moving to western Missouri, I was wondering what your take was on the yellow dog prophecy:
J. Golden Kimball, Conference Report, October 1930, p.59
"The western boundaries of the State of Missouri will be swept so clean of its inhabitants that as President Young tells us, 'when we return to that place there will not be as much as a yellow dog to wag his tail.'
I have thought it may be nice to locate there for the same reason Dr Jones gives related to going before a situation such as no fuel to run the cars arises, but this one has always scared me away.

I don't doubt that "The western boundaries of the State of Missouri will be swept so clean of its inhabitants that as President Young tells us, 'when we return to that place there will not be as much as a yellow dog to wag his tail."
Kansas City is like any Large US City. It is about 2-3 times the size of Salt Lake City. Kansas City will receive like any other modern Sodom and Gomorrah its due treatment.
If I had felt that I had to move to Kansas City or any of its outlaying communities, i.e. Independence (any of Jackson Co.) then I would also purchase one of the very affordable homes in the country about a 100 miles away. I am sure that many of the Saints living in Kansas City have plans for getting out of the City in event of a Nuclear Bomb or the like.
As for me, my family and I live in northwest Missouri, a distinct place separate from “The western boundaries of the State…” If all the major cities in the Mid-west were nuked as well as any military installation, here in my town we would not be harmed. We are not down wind from any of these targets, and we are surrounded by some of the finest farmland to sustain life, and lots of good people.
I believe that the J. Golden Kimball prophecy serves as a filter to help keep LDS from coming to Missouri unless they feel called to do so. No you probably should not move to Missouri unless you feel it is something you are inspired to do.
One more comment about Missouri. About 10 years ago there was only a handful of LDS living near Adam-ondi-Aham, but just as if the Lord had plans, hundreds of LDS have relocated to Gallatin, Missouri. The old Branch building in Gallatin is just finishing up its remodel into a Stake Center. I personally helped a family who just moved to Gallatin, this migration boggles my mind. That is until I feel and understand the wisdom of the Lord.
Live with the turkeys and even an eagle will act like a turkey. Just a good look to the sun/Son and the eagles spread their wings and become who they are. If you feel inspired to do so, come join us.
God Bless,

I believe that there will still be a cleansing, don't get me wrong. A lot will happen in Missouri, but at Adam-Ondi-Ahman on Tower Hill I believe it is, it refers to the 'yellow dog' statement and then follows with the statement that 30 years after that, there was no one there anymore. (About Cravenville)
Now, I do think that KC is going to have its cleansing. All areas will. To be swept off, sounds pretty expansive to me. In the D&C we learn that a desolating illness will be the cause.
We are here because we were told to be here. It took us 18 months to obey and we were compelled to be humble and that is why we are here.
I try to be much quicker at obeying. Just like Darren and those are in the North West, there are others gathering in the South West as well. We have new move in's and new converts quite often. We have had to create another ward because of it. And with the creation of one more ward, we would need another stake. That would then be 3 stakes in the Springfield area.
I would just say that you need to go whatever the spirit influences you to do. No where that we go is going to be easy and free from trials or tribulations, but the Lord will protect us and guide us through the Holy Ghost.
Faith casteth out all fear.

My thoughts and feelings for my family lead me to concur with Darren and LC. Both are far from Kansas City/Independence (on the western boundary of Missouri). As you read the prophecy of John Taylor, note that he describes the destruction of a number of large cities by name (NY, Boston, etc.) -- and that would seem to apply to KC also. I would stay far from there.
Let me ask this -- suppose you were 110 miles north of Kansas city, in Iowa... would this be any safer than just 10 miles south (approx) into Missouri? What if you went west from KC 5 miles into Kansas -- are you safe just because you left KC?
Pleased to hear about the large number of saints moving to the Gallatin area... already! Adam Ondi is a beautiful valley, owned by the Church and being prepared I understand with water and 'sewer' to accomodate many. (Does anyone know how many?)
