Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you. First advice, get the heck out of NYC! But just my own opinion. I think it will be a massive bloodbath once it gets tough. Your food will not do you much good with millions scrambling for it. But then again, maybe the Lord will bless and preserve you for following a prophets counsel.
