Eva,
That is a powerful miracle you shared with us on your blog, thank you for sharing and starting this thread!! I am glad you are with us today and that you are such a powerful example to us. We all love you :ymhug:

A couple of years in the Ministerings of Angels thread I posted this miracle that I experienced:
Like wrote: When I was a teenager, my friends who were forced to go to public school had the day off and they invited me to come play a game of football. It was great, there ended up being some other people at the field that were playing before we got there but they suggested we join them and have bigger teams. Everyone seemed to be down with that idea and had a great time. My ride that I came with had to leave early because he got paged (yes paged, it was like 14 years ago and pagers were more popular then) to go to work. After we were done playing I ended up catching a ride with another kid who lived next door to me. He had a truck and I ended up riding in the back with another guy because he had the cab full with other people. As we were driving down the road something happen which I still am not sure what the real story was, but the driver ended up needing to break quickly and ended up locking up the tires. The moment I heard the tires lock up I turn and looked at the guy next to me, the coolest thing happen. I looked and he was not there! Immediately I heard, what I believe an angel telling me to jump. Without thought I did just that. I still remember being in mid air and being at peace and enjoying the sun shining on me. Thinking back on the moment it seemed if time slowed down. I remember looking down at the ground and landing of my feet, I had to run to a stop because of the momentum I had. Once I had control I quickly turned around and saw the truck crashing into a ditch and flipping over. I ran over to the wreckage and helped the guy up who was a moment ago sitting next to me and had disappeared. I had asked if he jumped out of the truck, he said he did not but fell out of the bed when it was flipping. He said he remember me jumping. He was okay, just a little scraped up and shaken. Every one in the cab was fine but the truck was scrap. I remember the fire dept. came and checked every one out and when they took the pulse of every one the asked me several times if I was in the wreck because my heart rate was that of someone who was resting comfortably and not of some one who was in a wreck. I remember telling them I was not involved because I jumped out of the truck before the wreck happen. The look on the fireman’s face was one of disbelief.

I know it was an angel who told me to jump and then safely put me on my feet. I have been promised that I will be surrounded by ministering angels through out my life. I know Heavenly Father is mindful of his children; I am living proof of this. This is the only physical instance I can remember having an angel ministering to me. I know I was wondering earlier in this thread why I had not had more ministering angel experiences. I have been thoughtless about remembering the protection I have received. Looking back I can see numerous times when I had help from beyond the veil. Take it from me; always give credit to the Lord who is the giver of every good gift.

Maybe to help us remember or maybe we are brought into a different dimension....after all one day in the Lord's time is like 1000 years on earth..... I am not sure :-?

Mine may not seem very profound, but here are a couple miracles surrounding the birth of our children. Anyone who reads this board a lot will be shocked to know that I am infertile. ;)

So when we were adopting a series of accidents led us to Carlos. We set out to adopt domestically but for some reason a miscommunication caused our caseworker to write up our home study for international adoption. He was going to change it but that prompted my husband and I to reconsider international. We decided we would adopt from India after studying the country list the agency had given us. My husband could not rest about it and he told me he thought India was a mistake. I couldn't find the country list so I requested another and this time the feeling was strong that we should choose Guatemala. It was so strong I was perplexed why it hadn't been obvious before.

I ended up finding the old country list and for some reason Guatemala had never been on it! We ended up finishing up our dossier (paperwork specific to a Guatemala adoption) and getting our approval to adopt from Uncle Sam almost exactly as another couple who had been trying to adopt our son decided to back out of the adoption.

I have zero doubt he was meant to be ours all along.

The next one has to do with bringing Carlos home after a really difficult process. We accepted the referral of Carlos when he was six months old, but we didn't get him home until he was almost 2 1/2.

We had a terrible attorney in Guatemala. He should never have been doing adoptions. The international agency believed that he was golden even though he was clearly incompetent. I was regularly visiting an adoption blog and interacting with hundreds of other parents adopting from Guatemala. I knew how the process worked and I knew our attorney stunk.

Our case languished and to make a long story short we were lied to, had private investigators in Guatemala prove it, and then when we demanded accountability the agency director threatened to slow it down more if we didn't stop making waves.

We still took another year after that! Finally the spirit whispered to me that it was time to get our boy. Our process had not been completed yet, but it was time. Amid threats from our agency, who told us they would not authorize the trip we booked our flights and hotel. I wasn't sure how it would work and we could only afford to travel once. The Spirit testified to me when I read this scripture:

D&C 84:88
And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.

That is precisely what happened. Everyone was telling us not to go, that we wouldn't get his adoption finished and we'd have to leave without him.

As was typical of our attorney he did not show up with Carlos when we got there. We made some calls and the next day he finally showed - without the promised translator. After he left we had an amazing time with Carlos and his foster mother and another woman. With no translator we had a hard time communicating, but we were able to communicate the important things.

I'm not sure how to make this long story short. The embassy had to issue us a visa before we could come home with Carlos. We did not trust our attorney for obvious reasons so I felt that we needed to go ahead of time and speak to someone at the embassy.

Continues in next post so I don't lose what I've typed.

Part dos

Okay so the embassy is not known for patience or compassion. It's difficult to get an interview there and usually if something goes wrong their windows close and you're left high and dry to get it right and try again the next week (adoptions are done on certain days only).

We happened to score an interview with the director. He was nice. Clearly tired of living in Guatemala and was happy to vent with us about attorneys. He gave us the information we needed (that our attorney had submitted paperwork to them albeit several days after he claimed he did) and we went on our way.

When we showed later that week to fill out more paperwork, our attorney who was supposed to provide information to complete it didn't bother to show! Several items were in Spanish and we were up a creek in a big way. Then we saw a lady we had previously met who was there with her facilitator. Her facilitator helped us fake the paperwork.

Later that night we were supposed to pick up what is referred to as a pink slip which you get just prior to the visa being issued. You're supposed to wait for your name to be called and get your pink slip and get out. Usually they do not grant interviews afterward, but occasionally they do offer a handful.

Our name was not called. The same facilitator helped us again, we got an interview and lo and behold, we ended up before the same director of the embassy who immediately recognized us, handed Carlos a sucker and fixed our paperwork. I have no doubt he pushed it through when he ought not to have done so.

So... The evening before we were due to fly home, we got the visa. I cannot explain it other than I felt literally carried and directed every step of the way. The Lord helped us to meet the people we needed to assist us.

Sorry so long... That is actually highly abbreviated!

Okay my other miracle story surrounds the birth of our second son. We had been doing some fertility stuff, but decided to take a break, just stay on herbs and a diabetes med they sometimes give women to regulate things.

Probably too much information, but I started having to pee constantly. One night after his had been going on for a week I counted one night that I got up more than 20 times with the urge to urinate. I had never been prone to UTI's but I was prone to cysts. I determined that I must have a cyst pushing on my bladder. I made an appointment with my old OB for an ultrasound because for some reason I could not get an appointment with the fertility specialist I had been seeing. She dis the ultrasound and couldn't find anything wrong, but she said, "If you want to try to get pregnant, you have a follicle developing and are about to ovulate."

I don't ovulate, so I was taken aback. I called a friend and commiserated with her that I was afraid the egg wouldn't release, and I couldn't believe I might miss out because there was no way I could get in with the doctor soon enough. I wanted to see if she had leftover trigger shots from her IVF. She commanded me to stop being a wuss and call the doctor and demand to be seen.

So I did. They couldn't get me in unless I was willing to be seen by the PA. So I saw the PA who measured the follicle and advised me to wait a couple days to trigger. The spirit told me NOT to wait. He respected my wishes, we triggered that day, and it worked.

The peeing thing went away and we never found a cause. I always joke that angels must have sat around my bed all night pushing on my bladder to get me in to the doctor.

I've noticed the same thing about time slowing down. I'm sure it has to do with the Spirit being on "real" time. Whatever that means. ;) In my instance it was as if time slowed down and only two of us in a room full of people were mentally present. I know that had you asked seconds later what had just been said, the others in the room wouldn't have known. My guess is that it also has to do with the importance and significance of such events. Interesting thing to reflect on...?

But as to the ministering angel thing, I'd much rather keep my covenants and be able to continue my progression.

Great thread! I shared this on lds.net a few years ago. I remember thinking that God truly cares about all creatures, even hummingbirds. And if He answered my prayer for a small creature's sake, it was also a reminder that He was still fully aware and mindful of me.

May 6, 2008

Today while working on my yard and trying to fix my sprinkler system, I was startled by the flapping wings of a hummingbird above me in my garage. The poor little thing couldn't find its way out and hovered all over the ceiling as it tried to find a way up or out. I thought about how I could get it out, but it was very fast moving. I tried to gently guide it out with my snow shovel but I just ended up scaring it. I was really concerned that I wouldn't be able to safely let it out of my garage. I decided to take a more positive approach. I prayed earnestly in my heart that the Lord would let me just get it with my hand and take it out. I really wanted this little creature to make it out unharmed and this is the only way I could think of to make sure I didn't hurt it.

Lo and behold the little fella perched itself on the wires of my garage door opener above my car and it looked at me. I slowly climbed up on the hood of my car hoping not to scare it. I then climbed up slowly to the top of my car and it still stood there looking at me, not moving. Believe it or not I reached up past the garage door motor and it still did not move. I wrapped my hand around its little body and carefully pulled its tiny feet from the wire with my other hand. I was elated as I looked at the little guy just barely poking its head through my fingers. It was so small. I carefully climbed back down my car and walked outside and released it.

What a wonderful experience that was! I was thankful that God answered my prayer and I know that He cares about all of His creatures, even as tiny as a hummingbird. I know that anything that we ask of God is granted us, if it is expedient in Him.
