Alma 32:21
John 14:6And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.
If Jesus is the truth, and faith is only in things that are true, would not all faith in be in Jesus Christ. For example. I have faith in Jesus Christ that my children will make good choices. Even though I may say I have faith in my children, they are not true. By definition that is not faith. So true faith, by definition could really only be in Jesus Christ as I see it.Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man ccometh unto the Father, but by me
Isn't faith a word of action? Faith without works is dead. That is a scripture. Faith is the action you take based on a hope in something that is true is what I am trying to say. Faith does not equal belief. Faith in Jesus Christ does not mean believing in him, but having a hope in Him (everything he is and has done), which brings you to try to live like him. I think this is what is being described in Alma 32. It is the caring for the seed that is faith. The seed is the principle you are working on. For example teaching your children. It is a commandment that we bring our children up in the gospel of Jesus Christ. That means we have faith in Jesus Christ to bring our children up in the gospel when we have family home evening, set good examples for them, have family scriptures and prayers, and any other forums where we instruct verbally in the principles of the gospel.
