Mormons and Masons - interview with LDSFF Mason gkearney

Post by creator »

The Mormon Chronicle's latest podcast episode is Mormons and Masons...

We started out with a short video at the Salt Lake City Masonic Temple, and then go into about an hour long interview with Greg Kearney (LDSFF member gkearney) regarding Mormons and Masons. Greg explained his history with Free Masonry and also shared a lot of interesting information about the involvement of early Latter-day Saints in Free Masonry, specifically during the Nauvoo era. Greg also addresses questions from our facebook followers, and statements by Albert Pike, a master mason, who claimed that they worship Lucifer and the lucifarian doctrine. I hope you find this episode/interview as interesting as I did.

FWIW, I doubt that Joseph and Hyrum Smith would have stayed Masons if it was evil.

FYI, as Jospeh Smith stood at the window in Carthage Jail with shots being fired at him, he yelled out the Masonic cry for help from his Brothers. He did NOT get it but died as did Hyrum. His dying breth was NOT to deny the Masons.

My father was a Mason before joining. He and I received our endowments in the SLC Temple. He told me that there were similarities to Masonic rites. My dad was honest as the day is long. He was a man of great intrgrity. Once he joined the Church, he never went back to any Masonic meetings. We never talked about why.

Yes I enjoyed this very much. I hope you have conversations like this in the future. I'm sure there are many on this forum who have some type of speciality in something, so it would be interesting to have more conversations like this one. I could listen to 3 knowledgeable people sit and talk about so many topics within Church history and doctrine. Keep it up!!

Iam: The Problem sometimes is that people have knowledge but just lurk rather than sharing. Those like me who share a lot are critized harshly. See the thread on 60 Posts a Day.

I'm sure God has given you talents, expereinces and knowledge that you can share. Please just don't lurk. OK?

Now I'm a lurker who only takes and doesn't share? Dude you've been here less than a month, haven't read many of my posts, don't know anything about what I have contributed, and you're already labeling me. Perhaps you're not being criticized for "sharing" but for posting every little thought you have. 60 posts a day... Wow.

Iam: Sorry if I judged you wrongly. It seems that I haven't seen many of your posts on the many threads I've posted to and those I simply read and made no comment. I hope you accept my repentance? BTW, I will NOT "repent" for posting 60 a day.
