Lab tests show that ice from UK branches of McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC, Starbucks and other fast food restaurants contains more bacteria than the water found in the restaurants’ toilets. Similarly, tests conducted in 2008 found that two-thirds of all restaurant lemon wedges were contaminated with 25 different types of disease-causing bacteria -- including fecal bacteria.
Regularly drinking sweetened beverages is, in and of itself, a factor that will impair your immune function. Ditching sodas and other sweetened drinks is one of the most powerful actions you can take to improve your health and lower your risk of disease and long-term chronic health conditions.

PARIS — Scientists on Wednesday said they had unravelled the DNA of a horse that lived some 700,000 years ago, a record-breaking feat in the young field of palaeo-genomics.... Reporting in the journal Nature, the team said the tale began 10 years ago, with the discovery of a piece of fossilised horse bone in the permafrost at a location called Thistle Creek, in Canada's Yukon territory... The sample had been astonishingly preserved in the deep chill.

The genome was that of a horse that lived some 700,000 years ago in what is now the Yukon Territory in Canada...The horse DNA was extracted from a hind toe bone found in the Thistle Creek region of the Yukon’s Klondike gold mines. It owes its remarkable longevity to the bone having been buried in permafrost, which kept the DNA both very cold and very dry.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released the following statement today regarding the decisions announced by the United States Supreme Court on cases involving marriage:

"By ruling that supporters of Proposition 8 lacked standing to bring this case to court, the Supreme Court has highlighted troubling questions about how our democratic and judicial system operates. Many Californians will wonder if there is something fundamentally wrong when their government will not defend or protect a popular vote that reflects the views of a majority of their citizens. In addition, the effect of the ruling is to raise further complex jurisdictional issues that will need to be resolved. Regardless of the court decision, the Church remains irrevocably committed to strengthening traditional marriage between a man and a woman, which for thousands of years has proven to be the best environment for nurturing children. Notably, the court decision does not change the definition of marriage in nearly three-fourths of the states."

Same-sex couples in Tasmania will be able to legally adopt children, after the state's Upper House passed amendments to the Adoption Act.
The Adoption amedement bill passed 10 votes to three, allowing same sex couples the same adoption rights as married couples.
The bill was introduced by Children's Minister Michelle O'Byrne after the Liberal Party allowed a conscience vote on the issue.
Gay Rights advocate Rodney Croome is hopeful that Tasmania will pass legislation to allow same sex marriage by the end of the year.

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, June 7, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – The nation of Denmark has voted to force churches in the established Evangelical Lutheran Church to perform same-sex “marriage” ceremonies inside their sanctuaries, although one-third of all the denomination’s priests say they will not participate in such rituals. Danish parliament voted by an overwhelming 85-24 margin to compel churches to carry out unions for same-sex couples that are identical to heterosexual marriage celebrations. The law takes effect June 15.

Though we ask our soldiers to risk life and limb for their country, many soldiers will be unable to see the rocket’s red glare this year as we celebrate our nation’s birthday. ( The Obamas are reportedly having a great time on their taxpayer-funded vacation to Africa.) Fourth of July celebrations have been cancelled at Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base and at the Army’s Fort Bragg. The fourth of July celebrations have also been cancelled at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Georgia. The Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina have also cancelled their Fourth of July celebrations as well as the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii and New Jersey’s Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. All of the celebrations have been cancelled due to budgetary restraints.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — A northwest Ohio sinkhole has swallowed a car traveling down a street and briefly trapped the driver, who climbed out after authorities gave her a ladder.
Toledo police Sgt. Joe Heffernan says a water main break beneath the road may have caused the sinkhole Wednesday. The hole is estimated to be at least 10 feet deep.
Police say driver Pamela Knox didn't appear hurt but was shaken up and was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Heffernan says Knox saw the vehicle in front of her start to slip into the hole but drive beyond it. He says Knox couldn't avoid it.
Officials used a crane to pull the car from the hole. Repairs to the road are expected to take days.

A group of girls tried to grab one preacher’s sign away from him. Then he is slammed from behind, allegedly by Qeuree, and repeatedly punched.Police said they made two arrests.Threats of such attacks – and much worse – have been reported up and down the West Coast since 2008 when voters in California adopted a one-man-one-woman definition of marriage for their state constitution.A homosexual judge later overturned that.About the same time, in Washington state there was a citizens initiative to overturn the legislature’s creation of a same-sex “marriage.”The vote eventually failed.But out of both scenarios came a long list of documented incidents of hate-filled threats against those who oppose promoting homosexuality: Those included:

• “I’m going to kill the pastor.”
• “If I had a gun I would have gunned you down along with each and every other supporter…”
• “We’re going to kill you.”
• “You’re dead. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon … you’re dead.”
• “I’m a gay guy who owns guns, and he’s my next target.”
• “I warn you, I know how to kill, I’m an ex-special forces person.”
• “Get ready for retribution all you bigots.”
• Burn their f—ing churches to the ground, and then tax the charred timbers.”
Also, churches were marred by graffiti, swastikas on lawns and walls, bricks thrown through windows and doors, adhesive poured into locks, and suspicious packages of white powder sent in the mail, reports confirmed. In the Washington case, a federal judge ruled that radical homosexual activists must be given the names of those who signed to put the issue of same-sex “marriage” before voters. Pro-homosexual activists said they wanted to post the names online so that homosexuals could create “uncomfortable conversations” with the signers, and according to court records, eventually death threats resulted. One woman told how she was targeted in a YouTube video, which included the statement: “This woman is so f—ing stupid. Why doesn’t someone just shoot her in the head again and again. And again.”

Whole Foods Market Inc. announced on Friday the recall of a line of cheeses, which may contain dangerous listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The recalled cheese, identified as Crave Brothers les frères cheese, was sold in Whole Foods stores in 30 states and Washington D.C. On Wednesday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration linked a multi-state listeriosis outbreak, caused by listeria monocytogenes bacteria, to the cheeses produced by Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese in Wisconsin. According to the FDA, the oubreak has sickened four and killed one. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is testing samples of the cheese and early results indicate that there is listeria monocytogenes bacteria present in the samples. Further confirmation of these results is pending. The recalled cheeses were sold at Whole Foods stores under the names les frères and Crave Brothers les frères. The cheese was covered in plastic wrap with the Whole Foods Market scale labels. http://abcnews.go.com/Health/foods-reca ... diKy_b8_pA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Janadele wrote:...Fast Rewind: Senator Joe McCarthy & the relevance to today
The truth is that communist infiltration of and through the U.S. government, particularly the State Department, was and remains a legitimate threat to America. A 106-page confidential memo dated 3 August 1946, written by State Department official Samuel Klaus, detailed the alarming levels of communist infiltration into American government. It was that memo that served as the basis of Senator Joe McCarthy launching an investigation into the threat to America from within. It was through the efforts of McCarthy that a Senate subcommittee chaired by Senator Millard Tydings requested and eventually received a copy of that memo.

As noted by M. Stanton Evans, author of Blacklisted by History, that memo would mysteriously vanish from our nation’s records. Mr. Evans notes that this historic memo is not in the legislative panel file of the Tydings panel, located in the National Archives of the U.S., and was also removed from the files of Samuel Klaus, the author of the memo, from the National Archives in March of 1993, nearly a half century after it was issued.

As painstakingly revealed by M. Stanton Evans in his extensive work Blacklisted by History, important documentation well beyond the Klaus memo relevant to exposing the level of communist infiltration into the U.S. government is not limited to government sources such as the National Archive, but also to private data sources and repositories. He lists a number of instances where records were scrubbed and consequently, created a much different and much less accurate picture of that era of U.S. history.

This topic is as relevant today as it was during the time of Senator Joe McCarty, if not even more relevant. One only has to look at the reported communist, Marxist and socialist ties in Obama’s lineage and inner circle to understand the impact of missing records.

One would do well to use the voluminous work of M. Stanton Evans as a template to understand how Americans have been deliberately misled by the media and some members of our own government into believing that the communist and socialist objectives, launched in the postwar era, have led to where we find ourselves today.

The removal of the Klaus memo from his file in March of 1993 was as deliberate as the refusal of government officials, complicit with the media moguls of today to address the lack of bona fides of Barack Hussein Obama. In fact, one could consider them an extension of the same.

What it all means
Based on investigative findings that are not discussed in the media, it would appear that the selection and election of Barack Hussein Obama was indeed the greatest scam ever pulled off against the American people. The above provides just a small portion of the critical issues surrounding Obama’s eligibility, identity and his place in U.S. and world history. The story is much larger than a single piece of paper, but that paper, if properly authenticated, will serve as the thread that will unravel the larger tangled web of the Obama legend.

http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/35298" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
1. First of all, the Klaus August 1946 memo is 111-pages (not 106) if you include its index

2. Second, the Klaus memo has never "disappeared". I scanned and posted a copy of it here:
https://archive.org/details/foia_Allege ... pt-EBF-256" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

3. Third, even Samuel Klaus acknowledged in his own document that the methodology used by the State Department to determine "security risks" was flawed and, consequently, was not always reliable.

4. Klaus also makes a major error in his memo when he attributes to the FBI a chart regarding security risks employed by the State Department when, in reality, the chart was entirely an internal State Department document.

5. In 1950, Sen. Joseph McCarthy based his accusations largely upon the Klaus memo -- and McCarthy repeated the errors contained in the Klaus memo. Furthermore, McCarthy never acknowledged the faulty methodology employed (as Klaus did in his memo).

6. Lastly, it is ironic that the FBI file on Samuel Klaus refers to "subversive" associations of Klaus himself! In fact, J. Edgar Hoover hand-wrote a comment on one memo which suggests he had little regard for Klaus because of those "subversive" connections.

The idea that black people will riot over the Zimmerman case should be an embarrassment to blacks.
Unfortunately, far too many black Liberals are waiting to riot, hoping for the opportunity — like it’s a sale day at Macy’s. Obama did promise hope.
Neither white people nor Latinos will riot, if Zimmerman is convicted. They have better things to do. Apparently many black people have nothing better to do.

A Prophet speaks...

Thomas S. Monson.
In the decades since the end of World War II, standards of morality have lowered again and again. Crime spirals upward; decency careens downward. Many are on a giant roller coaster of disaster, seeking the thrills of the moment while sacrificing the joys of eternity. Thus we forfeit peace. We forget how the Greeks and Romans prevailed magnificently in a barbaric world and how that triumph ended—how a slackness and softness finally overcame them to their ruin. In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security and a comfortable life; and they lost all—comfort and security and freedom. Do not yield to Satan’s enticements; rather, stand firm for truth. The unsatisfied yearnings of the soul will not be met by a never-ending quest for joy amidst the thrills of sensation and vice. Vice never leads to virtue. Hate never promotes love. Cowardice never gives courage. Doubt never inspires faith.

Some find it difficult to withstand the mockings and unsavory remarks of foolish ones who ridicule chastity, honesty, and obedience to God’s commands. But the world has ever belittled adherence to principle. When Noah was instructed to build an ark, the foolish populace looked at the cloudless sky and then scoffed and jeered—until the rain came. Must we learn such costly lessons over and over again? Times change, but truth persists. When we fail to profit from the experiences of the past, we are doomed to repeat them with all their heartache, suffering, and anguish. Haven’t we the wisdom to obey Him who knows the beginning from the end—our Lord, who designed the plan of salvation—rather than that serpent, who despised its beauty? http://www.lds.org/liahona/2013/07/the- ... y?lang=eng" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A change in the frequency of earthquakes may foretell explosive volcanic eruptions, according to a new study. The seismic activity changes from steady drum beats to increasingly rapid successions of tremors. These blend into continuous noise which silences just before explosion. The study of tremors in the lead up to the 2009 eruption of Redoubt, a volcano in Alaska, appears in Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research. Those quakes continuously rose in pitch like a volcanic glissando - a musical glide from one pitch to another. Subterranean magma plumbing systems sit beneath volcanoes and feed pressurised molten rock toward the surface before eruptions.As the magma flows through deep conduits and cracks, it generates small seismic tremors and earthquakes. Scientists have noted earthquakes preceding volcanic eruptions before, for example drumbeat earthquakes were the first sign of renewed magmatic activity in Mount St Helens in April 2005. But the new analysis of Alaska's Redoubt volcano shows that the tremor glided to higher frequencies and then stopped abruptly less than a minute before eruption. "The frequency of this tremor is unusually high for a volcano," explained Alicia Hotovec-Ellis, a doctoral student involved in the study, from the University of Washington. "Because there's less time between each earthquake, there's not enough time to build up enough pressure for a bigger one. After the frequency glides up to a ridiculously high frequency, it pauses and then it explodes."

The earthquake noise sounds like a scream before eruption when the seismometer data are speeded up sixty times to make them audible. The authors suggest a simple model of brittle fracture may explain their results, although the precise details of what is going on underneath volcanoes before they erupt remain unclear. Dr Marie Edmonds, from the University of Cambridge, who was not involved in the study, commented: "This work is probably the most intensive treatment of this phenomenon. If you can get an idea of what is causing these types of patterns then you have a route to prediction of volcanic eruptions. "The question that arises is whether you can ever get these sorts of patterns without an eruption following? "We had repetitive sequences of volcanic explosions in the Caribbean island of Montserrat in 1997 and 2003 which were preceded by similar tremors, with hybrid earthquakes that were periodic and then recurrence intervals decreased with time before the explosion. People are converging on a view on how magmas behave."

Robert Spencer, authoritative voice on FrontPageMagazine and editor of JihadWatch, received a letter from the British Home Office notifying him that he would not be allowed to enter England. "Your presence here is not conducive to the public good," the letter said. Robert's colleague Pamela Geller got the same message. Why had Spencer and Geller scheduled a trip to England? To lay a wreath at a memorial service for British soldier Lee Rigby, who was beheaded by a pair Islamic jihadists on a London street on May 22. They planned to join people from all over England who also saw this horrific act as another skirmish in the ongoing war against the West, not just an act of criminal barbarity. That has been Robert's message since 9/11: Islam mandates warfare against unbelievers. Lee Rigby happened to be targeted because he had served with the British forces in Afghanistan. But anyone who stands against the steady advance of sharia is also at risk. http://gp.godfatherpolitics.com/ga/webv ... 94b8da2ed6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

She got to spend the night in jail for buying bottled water
When a half-dozen men and a woman in street clothes closed in on University of Virginia student Elizabeth Daly, 20, she and two roommates panicked.

That led to Daly spending a night and an afternoon in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. Her initial offense? Walking to her car with bottled water, cookie dough and ice cream just purchased from the Harris Teeter in the Barracks Road Shopping Center for a sorority benefit fundraiser.

A group of state Alcoholic Beverage Control agents clad in plainclothes approached her, suspecting the blue carton of LaCroix sparkling water to be a 12-pack of beer. Police say one of the agents jumped on the hood of her car. She says one drew a gun. Unsure of who they were, Daly tried to flee the darkened parking lot.

"They were showing unidentifiable badges after they approached us, but we became frightened, as they were not in anything close to a uniform," she recalled Thursday in a written account of the April 11 incident.
In another account I read, the police maintained that she should have obeyed the demands of the people with guns "just in case they were law enforcement."

A far left-wing liberal group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center filed a lawsuit against JONAH, claiming they are frauds and want the courts to stop them from saving anymore people from their debauched lifestyles. Charles LiMandri, President and Chief Counsel of Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund is representing JONAH in their court hearing that started last week. He says that SPLC is doing their best to deprive homosexuals to their right of self-determination and religious freedom when they consider that the Torah teaches that it is a forbidden sin.
LiMandri described the lawsuit saying:“The SPLC is taking the position that telling homosexuals that you can help them overcome same sex attractions is a fraud, that there's nothing wrong with having same sex attractions and there's nothing wrong with being involved in homosexual behavior. Because JONAH is a religiously-based organization, the idea it follows is that homosexuality is disordered. Not because it's a mental disease or defect, but because it's a sinful behavior and it's against God's plan.” LiMandri was planning to ask the court to dismiss the lawsuit on constitutional grounds including the First Amendment right of freedom of religion.Whether you realize it or not, there is a lot riding on this lawsuit. If SPLC wins, it will give every other gay rights group the legal precedent to challenge and stop all religious groups from trying to help those who seek help. Homosexuals who want to change and want someone to help them overcome their sinful lifestyle will have no one left to turn to for help. They will be left to struggle on their own and often that struggle can lead to serious consequences including suicide. It would also mean a severe legal blow against the First Amendment rights to the freedom of religion and speech, further weakening our already crumbling Constitution. http://politicaloutcast.com/2013/07/cas ... precedent/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Before we came to this earth, we knew what we’d be up against when we came, and we still shouted for joy. (Job 38:4-7). We knew we would hurt and suffer, that we’d have to endure others around us suffering. We knew our faith would be tested, and we knew some of us would fail that test. Still, we wanted the chance to try. We know where we come from, and we know where we’re going. When we have gone through the crucible of doubt, when we fight and struggle, pray and study and search, and come out on the other end still believing and loving the gospel, we win. This is why we always choose the bright side, and will not fall victim to those who choose to cast stones at us. http://ldsmag.com/article/1/13017" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
