A longtime fixture of the Maryland wedding scene will no longer offer services to couples planning to tie the knot because its owner is opposed to same-sex marriage. The Baltimore Sun reports that the owner of Discover Annapolis Tours, which is famous for its old-fashioned trolley rides, is expected to post a full explanation of the decision on his company's website on New Year's Day, which is the first day that same-sex couples will be allowed to marry in Maryland. Discover Annapolis Tours owner Matt Grubbs effectively sidesteps Maryland's law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in public accommodations by axing wedding celebrations entirely, the publication points out. He is quoted by Patch as saying in an email to a prospective client: "We used to do weddings until recently. But we're a Christian-owned business, and we are not able to lend support to gay marriages. And as a public accommodation, we cannot discriminate between gay or straight couples, so we had to stop doing all wedding transportation."

Other reports indicate that Grubbs acknowledged the move will cost his company approximately $50,000 in annual revenue. Meanwhile, Discover Annapolis Tours will still provide tours and other site-seeing services. The Patch report pointed out that Grubbs hoped to ask Maryland's General Assembly to give his company the right to refuse services to same-sex couples on religious grounds. Earlier this year, the owners of a Vermont country inn agreed it would no longer host weddings or receptions after settling a lawsuit that accused the business of refusing to host a lesbian couple's reception, according to the Associated Press. Meanwhile, the owner of a Colorado-based bakery that denied a wedding cake to an engaged gay couple said he'd sooner shutter his business than "compromise" his beliefs. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/2 ... 65612.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Well folks, may I wish you all a Happy New Year.

It is the last day of 2012 here in Australia. We are preparing to witness our spectacular fireworks display from the Sydney Harbour Bridge and on the waters of Circular Quay and Darling Harbour.

My family and I have a "front row seat " for these festivities. I love to watch the preparations and the boats large and small arriving early and taking up their positions.

There are two major firework displays, one at nine pm and the other, broadcast around the world, at midnight.

Plus from our vantage point we can see all the fireworks displays around the area throughout the night. On New Years Day my daughter and I will then be travelling to Perth in Western Australia.

2013 will hold many challenges, especially for the United States, may we have courage in our resolutions and uphold the values we cherish. God bless.

In all cases where guns are banned, gun crime continues and often increases. As for maniacs, be it nuts with cars (NYC, Chapel Hill, N.C.), swords (Japan), knives (China) or home made bombs (everywhere), insane people strike. They throw acid (Pakistan, UK), they throw fire bombs (France), they attack. What is worse, is, that the best way to stop a maniac is not psychology or jail or ‘talking to them,’ it is a bullet in the head, that is why they are a maniac, because they are incapable of living in reality or stopping themselves.”

He continued: “Do not be fooled by a belief that progressives, leftists hate guns. Oh, no, they do not. What they hate is guns in the hands of those who are not marching in lock step of their ideology. They hate guns in the hands of those who think for themselves and do not obey without question. They hate guns in those whom they have slated for a barrel to the back of the ear.

We've known for years that the Obama Administration is anti-faith and that they despise the Catholic Church. But now, with re-election a distant worry, they've taken their hatred to a new level.

Right this very moment, there is a petition on the White House website that condemns Pope Benedict XVI's address to the College of Cardinals and the Catholic Church.

Signers of the petition want to declare the Catholic Church an official "hate group" because of our views on same-sex marriage. This petition is truly shocking, and it's an attack against ALL people of faith.

Soros-funded group suing Pastor Scott Lively for "crimes against humanity" in Federal Court. Punishing him for Christian, pro-family position on homosexuality. Oral arguments begin Monday morning!

Homosexual groups organizing to "pack the courtroom" at Monday's Federal Court hearing. Followed by rally and press conference.

Lively receives death threat, harassment, intimidation from homosexual activists as court date nears.

Because of his articulate pro-family stands, Pastor Scott Lively is a major target of the homosexual movement. So this is more than a major lawsuit. Going after him has become a full-blown campaign. The homosexual movement will stop at nothing, no matter how expensive or outrageous, to destroy anyone who gets in their way.

the lowest estimate makes hospitals one of the top 10 causes of deaths in the United States ... and the highest estimate makes hospital and drugs the number one cause of death in the United States. Some of thetop 10, and most lethal, medical mishaps are mistakes that should be extremely rare, but happen with shocking regularity:
1. Preventable Adverse Drug Reactions An estimated 450,000 preventable medication-related adverse events of mostly correctly prescribed drugs occur in the U.S. every year. A large part of the problem is simply because so many drugs are used and prescribed – and many patients receive multiple prescriptions at varying strengths, some of which may counteract each other or cause more severe reactions when combined. Dosage errors, medication mix-ups and even giving the wrong medication to the wrong person are all too common.

2. Avoidable InfectionsHospital-acquired infections are alarmingly common, and sadly they're often deadly. In the United States, more than 2 million people are affected by hospital-acquired infections each year, and a whopping 100,000 people die as a result. According to the 2011 Health Grades Hospital Quality in America report,4 analysis of approximately 40 million Medicare patients' records from 2007 through 2009 showed that 1 in 9 patients developed such hospital-acquired infections! The saddest part is, most of these cases could likely have been easily prevented with better infection control in hospitals – simple routines such as doctors and nurses washing their hands between each patient, for example.

3. Surgical Surgical tools or other objects are left inside people after surgery far more often than you'd like to think. This is often the result of surgical staff failing to count, or miscounting, equipment during the procedure. Unexpected pain, fever and swelling after surgery are all indications that you could have a surgical tool or piece of a tool still inside you.Just how often does this occur? One study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that about 1,500 Americans have objects left inside of them following surgery every year.

Remember to Claim Your Power If You're Admitted to the HospitalOne of the reasons I am so passionate about sharing the information on this site about healthy eating, exercise, and stress management with you is because it can help keep you OUT of the hospital. Please be proactive and start pursuing a healthy lifestyle today so you don't become a victim of the medical system. I have compiled my best tips in a customized 100-page report on how you can Take Control of Your Health. It is customized to three different levels and you can start at any level, but be sure and read from the beginning, as reviewing the basics is the best way to reinforce healthy patterns. Now, if you do have to go into a hospital for surgery or any other procedure, you need to know how to play the "game." In my recent interview (above) with Dr. Saul, he shared potentially life-saving tips in the event you find yourself in a hospital. It's worth taking Dr. Saul's recommendation to bring a personal advocate -- a relative or friend who can speak up for you and ensure you're given proper care if you can't do so yourself. But also understand that you, the patient, are the most powerful entity within the entire hospital system. However, the system works on the assumption that the patient will not claim that power. Knowing your rights and responsibilities can help ensure your hospital stay is a safe and healing one. "The most important thing to remember is this: the hospital power structure," Dr. Saul says. "No matter what hospital you go in… the question is, 'Are you going to walk out the front door, or be wheeled out the back?'

Now, here's what people need to do. They need to understand that when they are faced with hospitalization, the most powerful person in the most entire hospital system is the patient. … A patient can say, 'No. Do not touch me.' And they can't. If they do, it's assault, and you can call the police. Now, they might say, 'Well, on your way in, you signed this form.' You can unsign it. You can revoke your permission. Just because somebody has permission to do one thing, it doesn't mean that they have the permission to do everything. There's no such thing as a situation that you cannot reverse. If you can make amendments to the U.S. Constitution, you can change your mind about your own personal healthcare. It concerns your very life. You don't want to cry wolf for no reason, but the patient has the potential to put a stop to anything -- absolutely anything. … It's a game, and you can win it. But you can't win it if you don't know the rules. And basically, they don't tell you the rules. In 'Hospitals and Health,' we do." Knowing how to prevent disease so you can avoid hospitals in the first place is clearly your best bet. But knowing what to do to make your hospital stay as safe and healing as possible is equally important. For the inside scoop, I highly recommend reading Dr. Saul's book, Hospitals and Health; this is especially important if you know you're going to be facing a hospital stay, such as for a routine surgery, in the near future.

"I'm 77 and I'm Tired" – by Bill Cosby

"I'm 77 . Except for a brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National Service, I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for some serious health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly 40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honour"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christians and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

I 'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia, New Zealand, UK, America and Canada, while no one from these countries are allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country to teach love and tolerance..

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.

I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and early 20's bedeck themselves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making themselves un-employable and claiming money from the Government.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 76.. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter and her children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not on the way in."

America at this moment in time needs a businessman. A Mitt Romney or Lee Iacocca or Ross Perot. We need a no-nonsense CEO and turnaround specialist who knows how to cut budgets with a buzz saw and a bazooka.
Romney not only may be the greatest business turnaround expert of our time, sitting bored on the sidelines, just looking for a way to contribute; but he’s also a Michigan native. He’s the hometown boy. This is the perfect situation.
I’m betting that within a year this world-class brilliant businessman can give Detroit’s residents hope, and within three years put Detroit on the road to recovery. How? By undoing the damage done by five decades of Democratic policies.

Scott Romney, the former GOP presidential candidate's older brother, is considering a campaign for the newly-open Senate seat in Michigan, Roll Call reports. The seat in the Democratic-leaning swing state is open after Democratic incumbent Carl Levin announced this week that he won't seek reelection in 2014.

It dose not matter if there are a hundred Romneys running the finacial part of the goverment and every one on the planet has a job.
If sin in it's highest degrees which we are experiencing throughout the world right now isn't stopped our Heavenly Father will continue to chastise His children through drought, famine, earthquake, tempest and what ever it takes to wake us up.
Jobs won't matter.

Editor's note: Mark Burhenne is a practicing family and cosmetic dentist of 25 years and founder of AsktheDentist.com. He is dedicated to empowering people to take control of their dental health, stop managing symptoms and prevent chronic illnesses in the mouth. Follow him on Facebook or Twitter.
(CNN) -- The recent news in Tulsa, Oklahoma, brings to light an issue that is rare, but nonetheless important -- cross infection in the dental office, or the transfer of infection from one patient to another in a health care environment.
The unfortunate reality is that you, as the consumer, have very little chance of knowing what's going on -- it's a huge trust relationship. Cross contamination is literally invisible because it's caused by microbes invisible to the human eye, so only the professionals can guarantee that it doesn't happen.
That doesn't mean it's out of your control. Use this checklist to find out how seriously your dentist takes the issue of infection control procedures.
1. Watch the gloves You would never use a cutting board used for raw chicken to chop up some broccoli unless you washed it first -- and preventing cross infection in the dental office is no different.
Ask yourself:
-- How does my dentist put on gloves? Gloves put on by your dentist should come out of the glove dispenser, not off an unsterilized countertop.
-- What does my dentist touch with the gloves? Your dentist should only touch the sterile instruments or your mouth -- if anything else gets touched or if the dentist leaves the room, it's time for a new pair of gloves.
-- How many soap containers do I see in the office? Soap containers should be visible and everywhere and dentist and staff should be making use of them in front of you, in addition to using gloves.
Ask your dentist:
-- Do you change your gloves for every patient? Gloves should absolutely be changed in between patients.
2. Check out the office
A clean, uncluttered office can be an indication of how serious your dentist is about sterilization. If the office is cluttered, it's harder to clean.
Ask yourself:
-- How clean is the office? Is it tidy and uncluttered? If there's lots of junk on the countertops, that can make for surfaces that aren't easily sterilized.
-- Are there carpets? Carpets can't be sterilized, but hospital-grade linoleum floors can. These can all be indications of how serious a dentist is about cleanliness.
-- Are there special containers for disposal of needles and sharp items? If you can't see them, ask where they're kept. Devices have to either be sterilized or thrown away. A dentist should be using these containers to dispose of used devices and using new ones on the next patient.
Why do I no longer need an antibiotic before teeth cleaning?
Ask your dentist:
-- Are operatory rooms (the room where the dental chair is) cleaned between patients? The staff should be disinfecting the surfaces in the operatory between every patient.
-- Where do you disinfect instruments? There should be a single room or space in the dental office that is completely dedicated to the disinfection of instruments. Ask your dentist to tell you about this space and what the procedures are.
-- How do you sterilize your instruments? Instruments should be sterilized in between each patient, including the dental drill.
-- How do you know that the sterilizer is working properly? This brings me to my next point.
3. Ask for autoclave validation
In my office, this is a form that we keep on our bulletin board. It's a certificate from a third party company that sends the dentist a package full of envelopes of bacteria that are difficult to kill.
The dentist or staff will put these bacteria into the sterilization machine -- or autoclave, in dental terms -- weekly or monthly, put the package into the mail, and the company analyzes the package and sends a report to the dentist on how well the sterilization machine is functioning. Another word for this is biological monitoring.
Ask your dentist:
-- May I see a copy of your autoclave validation? If your dentist is willing and able to show you this report, this demonstrates a commitment and dedication to protecting your health. If your dentist doesn't want to show you or gets defensive, this could be a red flag.
4. Check the instruments
Your dentist should be unwrapping a sealed bag of instruments in front of you. A sealed bag indicates that the instruments have been sterilized -- or in dental terms, autoclaved -- by a machine. If bag is already open, then it's possible that those are used instruments that contain another person's germs.
Ask yourself:
-- Where did the instrument come from? Once instruments are out of the sterilized bag, your dentist should leave them on a sterile tray, not a dirty countertop.
Ask your dentist:
-- Do you use the bags that change color when they're autoclaved? Many autoclave bags have a color indicator on them to indicate that the instruments inside were properly sterilized. Not all bags have this, but it can start a good conversation with your dentist about sterilization procedures used in the office.
5. Speak up
Never be afraid to ask questions. A good dentist will be proud to tell you of the measures the office takes to ensure your safety, protection and well-being.
Ask your dentist:
-- "In your office, how do you guarantee that you do not cross infect patients?" The dentist's reaction to this alone is telling. The dentist and staff should be dedicated to answering your questions and making you feel comfortable.
Why your dental plaque is valuable
And do your research. The more you know about this topic, the better able you will be to engage in a conversation with your dentist. Do a background check. Usually, there's a governing body that oversees dentists in your state. They keep a record of infractions -- call to find out if your dentist is on that list. Educate yourself about dental infection control standards. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and theAmerican Dental Association can help.
If you ever see something that makes you believe that your dentist and the staff are not perfectionists when it comes to cleanliness, trust your instincts and go somewhere else, or at least speak up.
Cross infection, in general, is exceedingly rare because dentists follow strict state and federal guidelines. The risk of your health being affected by not seeing the dentist is far greater than the risk of cross infection.

Another warning from Dr. Mercola...you should NOT use your cellphone in places with poor reception. A weak reception will require your phone to transmit more power, which means it also emits more radiation. The stronger the radiation, the deeper the dangerous radio waves penetrate into your body.
