A friend called me tonight with word that prices are increasing at the Bishop's Storehouse on Monday morning. She had a price list - sounded like white wheat was going up almost 60%! She said it looked to her like everything was going up. Can anyone confirm this?

Someone posted about this on another thread, but I can't find it right now. Yeah, prices are going up as of Monday, April 4.

The Church's Home Storage Centers are changing prices in a big way, effective April 4. (So you have until Saturday night-- Thank goodness my stake's day was yesterday!) Wheat is going from $7.65/25# to $11.45. Sugar will be over $21/25#, and quick oats go from $9.35/25# to $15.95. All the foods increase in price this time, except for the prepackaged starter kit. For you Utahns, Macey's, Fresh Market, and Smith's have their case lot sales this week, and the Bosch Kitchen Centers have their 'Conference Sale' (50# hard wheat for $16.50-$18, depending on how much you buy.)

I don't know how to attach a file on here, so if any of you want the prices that were current until yesterday, PM me and I'll send the pdf as an attachment.

And hopefully I don't start the panic some people have referred to... )

Nah, the wheat's not going up 60%, it's only 49%.


It's even more interesting to compare what the Home Storage Centers' cost for wheat was five months ago: before prices changed in January, the white wheat was $5.85. At $11.45 now, that's an increase of 96%!
