What "Freedom" topics will be discussed?

Any chance the 144,000 will be called?

The Temple in Jerusalem (old, not new) new construction announcement?

Missionaries called home?

Law of Consecration put into full effect?

Remaining sections of the Book of Mormon unlocked and translated?

City of Enoch combined with the New Jerusalem?

"Call out" to Jackson County, Missouri?

Statistics of how many times the Saviour has appeared to the living Latter-day Prophets and Apostles?

Avraham Gileadi called to be one of the two prophets to visit Jerusalem?
O:-)

Any chance the 144,000 will be called? Not in General confrence....

The Temple in Jerusalem (old, not new) new construction announcement? No but I can wish :D

Missionaries called home? Some already have been but no I wouldn't be surprised to hear something about more going to China tho.

Law of Consecration put into full effect?hmmmm....for some reason I have always been under the impression this will not occur until we have gathered in the New Jerusalem. I could be wrong tho.

Remaining sections of the Book of Mormon unlocked and translated?wow how cool would that be!

City of Enoch combined with the New Jerusalem?haha again we would first have to have built the New Jerusalem

"Call out" to Jackson County, Missouri? If there is to be a general call out I imagine conference would be the place, however I do not think we are there yet.

Statistics of how many times the Saviour has appeared to the living Latter-day Prophets and Apostles? What are you asking here? How many prophets/apostles have had their C&E?

Avraham Gileadi called to be one of the two prophets to visit Jerusalem? My money is still on Oaks as one...no one else can i picture breathing fire :D

Although I wish otherwise....I also predict we won't hear any of those topics discussed.

The "Statistics" one is obviously tongue-in-cheek, but each Prophet and Apostle is a special witness to the Christ.

It was meant as a counter item to the thread about the 2nd Coming. He has already been "here" numerous times. He just hasn't decided to stay yet.

Avraham would have to become a High Priest first, then get a mission call to "original" Israel. :-ss

BTW, I thought the descendants from the Book of Mormon (like my 1/4 Mayan {Pepél Tribe} children) were going to "assist" in building the New Jerusalem? Doesn't Jackson County have to be swept clean first? (Yellowstone Caldera popping...)

On missionaries being called home, I've noticed lately that some missionaries seem to be being called "closer" to home.

Yep. I predict the tone, rhetoric and words will be the same - pay an honest tithe, attend the temple, read your scriptures, pray often, serve others, attend your church meetings, be righteous, etc. - nothing is going to ever change with respect to how the brethren handle GC - I believe the time of warning and preparation is over and we're just going to keep hearing the same old spiritual advice until the time comes when we are going to need to be in tune with the spirit and prepared for the drastic changes fast approaching.

Given the fact Elder Scott mentioned that something will happen within the next 2 years ( this was said a few months back) that will make many come to our church for refuge... shouldn't they say something a bit more direct? nothing fancy, or sensational... but like " Brethren, we must prepare in spirit, body and mind, the time is now, you must get your houses in order, or you will not be able to draw on the protection of heaven" or something? What I am saying is, most of the people in my ward and stake, have got NO clue... I mean no clue at all.... some of them bless people and annoint them via the phone... no joke, I was made aware of this just this very week... so see what I am saying?
A lot of us have a hard time listening to the spirit even when we are good people and try to keep the commandments... Elder Scott once told us during a Stake Conference " you are good people, but Satan has deceived you by making you change your priorities"...... so what of those that I am sure are in the majority that have not learned to use their ears, or eyes to see? I mean, shouldn't they be given a heads up in a more direct way? otherwise I fear they will be caught off guard... even if people like me keep telling them to prepare..some people look at me like I am nuts... and trust me I am not going around shouting this, but whenever there's an opportunity and the spirit makes feel I must warn people I do....

I have been saying this for a while... everything points to the final events of the sixth and beginning of the 7th seal ( whatever stage we are currently at) the Lord may be only a few decades away, and the exact date is not really my concern.. I look forward to that day... what concerns me is the events preceding the second coming.... I am not very learned in the ways of The Lord like most of you... but the spirit has taught me enough to see the signs of the times... I mean, I can see what is happening every day... I am concerned for my friends, neighbors, family and church members.... :( I am not afraid of dying.... I am not afraid to suffer worse than the early saints... but I am afraid I may not be strong enough when I see others suffering, or to see their hearts fail... there is a soothing feeling that comes to those that are prepared... I just wish we could all have that little cushion before the impact.... any thoughts?

I just want to remind you all that Elder M Russell Ballard said at a Stake Conference not less than a month ago that the Saints will NOT be "hearing" anything "new" until they start living the things that they have been told already.

As far as the something happening in the next two years that will cause many to flock to the church for refuge...an idea.

Could it be that the change in position on "undocumented" immigrants could fulfil that? Now I need to interject that before I read the manuscript for "Latter-Day Liberty" that I was VERY opposed to amnesty for illegals - my eyes were opened and my mind and heart changed in that regard. I could imagine Utah becoming somewhat of a sanctuary state. If we welcome them with open arms and work to integrate them into our society (instead of ostracizing or fearing what they will do to the job market/wages, which is the standard treatment for new immigrants and has been for centuries) I believe that not only will they NOT be a drag on our economy, but they could help fuel the engine and rapidly expand our economy. I feel that I have been very hard-hearted and unfeeling in this respect, and I think this is one of the things that may be a difficult trial for people. Maybe even a "sifter"? Because of course it is "natural" (natural man) to resent losing your job to someone, even if it is because they will work for half the price...also if we truly treat new immigrants in the manner that Christ would want us to - isn;t there a great chance that many WOULD join the church when they see that the gospel is real to us and not jsut something we talk about on Sunday? Anyway, it's something to consider...

Doesn't mean they won't say anything new...just says we won't hear anything new unless/until we live what we have. That's how it always has beem. So if you don't hear anything new, blame the man (or woman) in the mirror.. :D

You think they would wait for the collective mass of the members to wake up before they said anything different? Would kind of suck for those that have been striving to obey in all things for decades, eh?

I'm not claiming to be one of the ones receiving more, either, but I will say this last year has been awesome and I hear new things in conference and understand new things from the scriptures that make my jaw drop that they were there all the time. And I mention something that was said in conference that struck me very powerfully, and I get a shrug and a "yeah, but they always say stuff like that" response. 8-|

Since they are teaching by the spirit, you can only learn by the spirit, right? That means they can say the same words to everyone, but each person gets what they need at the time. It's kind of a miracle.

Anyway, it's something to consider...
I understand our nation's position on immigration, we are a nation of law's but remember us Lamanites are here for a reason... Elder Carlos Amado said at one of our Stake Conferences " you did not come to this country to earn better living, you came here because you had an appointment with The Lord" so maybe there is a purpose behind immigration? I don't claim to know.. but Lamanites surely have a role to play in these last days... but I must agree Lamanites are still learning the Gospel... work 24/7 jobs, and have very little time focus more in the things that will help them gain more light and knowledge... I am a toy sculptor and designer, work from home, I can see my 3 daughter's grow... every day...I work a lot, but I can take a day off or a few hours off anytime of the week .. most of my brothers do not have that blessing... I wonder if they had a better education and a legal presence if they could also have more time to learn a bit more about the Gospel...help more in the Church, help the economy.... sadly I do not see this being the case with most families... I am glad you've opened your eyes to the need for some kind of legal adjustment for my people... how can they flourish like the rose in the dessert if they cannot even get a decent job, even after graduating from college ? I think we should see illegal aliens through the perspective of Christ.... i dislike the term "illegal aliens" no human is illegal... no human is an alien... law breakers perhaps... but there are reason behind this... hurtful, awful reasons, I should know I am the son of immigrants... I recommend you watch this film called "which way home" It will break your heart and make you realize how blessed we are here in the States.... you can watch it live on Netflix... if this doesn't break your heart.. then you don't have one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b43dYQG4kuY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Another Documentary...

Agreed! I think they may touch on the following topics:
Food storage
Need for seeking revelation
Need to seek understanding of the scriptures referring to the current events
Exponential growth of the Church
Remain in Holy places
The trial and faith of the pioneers
Self Reliance
wars and rumors of wars how to center our faith in He that is all powerful and not fear...
Catastrophes
Secret Combinations

I know the above topics are common... but I will truly try to listen by the spirit...

Zcuptor, welcome. I have a real soft spot in my heart for the Mexican people. One of my sons-in-law is from Mexico City, He's mostly of European descent, but another son-in-law is part Aztec. Neither are in the gospel yet. But I pray that someday they will see the light.

Wow that is great, I am from Mexico City I was born there, and brought here when I was 18 months old. I am also mostly of European decent, but I do have a lot of Lamanite in me :) Keep the faith... the day will come when a lot of people will realize we are the only haven they will have, and their hearts will open... I firmly believe this..

Whoa Pritchet1 don't let your imagination run wild. Most on this site will be lucky to live to see any of those events. Most likely it will be like the last 30 or so conferences, repentance, forgiveness, temple attendance, testimony, faith, service and Love. Sorry to disappoint but you will never hear those topics... until the body of the church can read their scriptures, offer real prayers and pay a full tithing it's not gonna happen, were a long way off. I have two sons on missions and so far they haven't been called home.

Do you have a source for Elder Scott's talk? Certainly something WILL happen in the next two years... I will get out of bed put on my pants and go to work as usual... keep going to church, paying the mortgage, go to basketball and kids soccer games, family reunions, yard work, church service, and regular challenges... We need to stop fantasizing about the freakin "Call Out".

Looking forward to this weekend to see what transpires.

Spent a lot of time doing temple work this week.

Figured the best place for me on the day of fools was where my "work" counted.

light is only available to those who can precieve it, and can only come from one who has it
