What have the LDS members of Congress said? I am glad he said what did. Who cares how long he has been in the senate. Standing up for the right is what really matters. Go get them Rand!!!

Being freshman is much better than being entrenched enemy of liberty with a lot of experience! Principles are more important than procedure. ;)

House Speaker Henry Hyde that, “There are things in the Constitution that have been overtaken by events, by time. Declaration of war is one of them. There are things no longer relevant to a modern society. Why declare war if you don't have to? We are saying to the President, use your judgment. So, to demand that we declare war is to strengthen something to death. You have got a hammerlock on this situation, and it is not called for. Inappropriate, anachronistic, it isn't done anymore." (House Speaker Henry Hyde respondint to Ron Paul)

Henry Hyde solemnly swore to obey, uphold and defend the Constitution. He is blatantly and flagrantly violating it. He should be tried for high treason.

How come Orrin did not mention these actions were unconstitutional? Do you think he even understands that it is? Do you think he even cares?

Hatch is not a friend of Liberty. His 30 years of "service" are a resounding testament to that! The main thing he is concerned about is staying in office, everything else, including his principles, Constitution, and Liberty come second. He is a political whore.

Mitt is willfully ignorant of the Constitution. He does not want to know, and does not care. He is ignorant of the principles of liberty.

Maybe we can have some hope in Jason Chaffetz?

Why would he support troops following unconstitutional orders?

Here is LDS Tom Udall's statement:
U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) issued the following statement following President Obama's primetime address on the conflict in Libya:

"President Obama demonstrated leadership and patience to create a strong international coalition to prevent further attacks on the Libyan populace by its government. As the president outlined tonight, the next step is to make sure the U.S. mission in Libya is more narrowly defined and limited with NATO leading the effort to keep the Gaddafi regime from attacking civilians. Congress must now meet its Constitutional obligations to ensure that the U.S. mission in Libya is not prolonged."

Udall is either ignorant or negligent of the Constitution and principles of Liberty. In either case this makes him unfit as a Senator.

I agree with everything you said here LoveIsTruth, what are your thoughts on Jason Chaffetz supporting troops that follow unconstitutional orders?

I think Chaffetz is a good man, who is still somewhat ignorant of the true principles of Liberty, as well as the "war on terror" hoax, which in reality is war on Liberty. But because I see him as an honest man, I have high hopes that he will become a true and effective friend and defender of Liberty (which after all, is the only proper role of government)!

I think he is a good man also but supporting troops unconstitutional actions is where I draw a line and I think he needs to repent publically or step down for such a dangerous attitude. I rather have him chew out the troops for their actions then support them. Everyone should know better.

I agree. But remember, blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. Chaffetz has a hundred years of brainwashing working against him. But you are right, he should know better! Truth is truth.

Just so I am clear I have written every LDS congress person in the past if I ever saw them ignore the Constitution, and ask them to step down and publically repent for supporting unconstitutional acts or laws, I am not just picking on Jason Chaffetz. I hold LDS congress persons to a higher standard, needless to say I have been disappointed. I have been disappointed in the Latter-Day Saints who support of troops and government leaders that ignore the Constitution.
