U.S. soliders posing for photos with murdered civilians

US Army 'kill team' in Afghanistan posed for photos of murdered civilians
Commanders brace for backlash of anti-US sentiment that could be more damaging than after the Abu Ghraib scandal
Commanders in Afghanistan are bracing themselves for possible riots and public fury triggered by the publication of "trophy" photographs of US soldiers posing with the dead bodies of defenceless Afghan civilians they killed.
How soon before we pay as a nation for the atrocities going on in Iraq/Afghanistan, all because of the fraud of 9/11?

I am surprised at you Col. This is the way the 5th column press puts together headlines of an article in a slanted fashion so as to push their agenda and demonize their enemies. Read thru the article and you will find... the rest of the story.
Some of the activities of the self-styled "kill team" are already public, with 12 men currently on trial in Seattle for their role in the killing of three civilians.

Five of the soldiers are on trial for pre-meditated murder, after they staged killings to make it look like they were defending themselves from Taliban attacks.

Other charges include the mutilation of corpses, the possession of images of human casualties and drug abuse.

All of the soldiers have denied the charges. They face the death penalty or life in prison if convicted.
Why not let the military justice system do its work and then lets see if demonization is warranted. To eviscerate the US military because of the rogue actions of a few bad apples is unfair and spin.

Thanks Mark, just what I was thinking but wouldn't have said as well as you. There may be some truth here, but it is yet to be determined. The military men and women I have known, would not do something like this. There may be some, but I haven't met them. All get stained by this kind of broad sweeping accusation. We as saints should be cautious to jump on such a band wagon. Let justice speak first. I hope she does her job thoroughly.

Friend in Special Forces that told stories of blood drinking and myriad other horrendous acts from 1st Gulf War. Saw plenty of nutty creepy crap myself. Even little things like contests to see who can find the nastiest porn....or a Marine pimping his wife out (also a Marine) for $20.

Bunch of green high school babies with burned out thrice divorced nasty old drunks as mentors.....nothing good is bound to happen! Not to mention the mix of everything from gangbangers from myriad inner city ghettos to white supremacists. Let alone in a war zone where by nature one looks at the enemy as less than human.

This being an accurate description of my ex (as well as many of his unit friends I know personally, and two of his brothers) is why I reacted the way I did.
Spent 7 years in with two trips around the world working closely with Air Force and Navy.....pretty much sums up my experience.
