Read this from Neal A. Maxwell:
(12/26/96)
"Now, my brethren, 'these are (your) days' (Helaman 7:9) in the history of the Church. Mark well what kind of days they will be, days when, with special visibility, the Lord will make bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations' (D&C 133:3). God will also 'hasten' His work (D&C 88:73). He will also 'shorten' the last days 'for the elect's sake' (Matthew 24:22); hence, there will be a compression of events (see Joseph Smith-Matthew 1:20). Furthermore, 'all things shall be in commotion' (D&C 88:91). Only those in the process of becoming the men and women of Christ will be able to keep their spiritual balance. Brethren, may we 'walk by faith' and, if necessary, even on our knees! In the name of the Lord of the universe, even Jesus Christ, amen." — Neal A. Maxwell, General Conference, April 1992 .
Matt. 24:22
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
If the Lord shortens the last days maybe the timing in the Palmoni Scrolls will be wrong. I believe we have a difficult time with predicting the timing of events,
because we don't know enough about what the Lord is going to do. We can see what Satan is doing quite well, but to predict when the Lord will intervene is more challenging. I still think we have more time, It's not based on information, but just a gut feeling. However I am often wrong, so my evaluation has no value.
I do know there are changes in the missionary work. I have a grandson serving in the States. The mission president has instructed his missionaries to challenge people to baptism on the porch of their homes immediately on first contact, before they are in the door. This seems like insanity to me. When I was on a mission we were instructed to teach investigators well before baptizing them. All that has changed. My grandson is a district leader, and a good one. I asked him what he thought of the directive of challenging people for baptism on the porch. He said: "The time is short, and the Holy Ghost is preparing people before the missionaries even arrive." He said several of those he has challenged for baptism at first contact have accepted, and some of them are progressing well. So, who knows, we live in a crazy time.
Everything is prophesied ahead of time! In Nebuchadnezzar's vision as interpreted by Daniel the Lord foretells the establishment and abolishment of kingdom after kingdom. Samuel the Lamanite prophesied down to the exact year. Everything that is happening today has been foretold. It is up to us to study and ask for further light and knowledge.
My gut feeling is the time is very short. Based on my understanding of economics, I believe the time is very short. Based on my understanding of conspiracies, I believe the time is very short. Based on my understanding of the scrolls and the research I've been able to do on them.....I think they are accurate.
Time will tell the story....however that turns out to be!

Remember what is written in 3rd Nephi? Will history be repeated? Even though that which we are faced is much more devastating, can we hear the Lord saying to us what He said to the people of that time when it is over?
There was a collapse and a reward. I think we can liken these things to ourselves when our devastation occurs.
3 Ne. 8: 6, 12, 14-17, 19-25
6 And there was also a great and terrible tempest; and there was terrible thunder, insomuch that it did shake the whole earth as if it was about to divide asunder.
• • •
12 But behold, there was a more great and terrible destruction in the land northward; for behold, the whole face of the land was changed, because of the tempest and the whirlwinds, and the thunderings and the lightnings, and the exceedingly great quaking of the whole earth;
• • •
14 And many great and notable cities were sunk, and many were burned, and many were shaken till the buildings thereof had fallen to the earth, and the inhabitants thereof were slain, and the places were left desolate.
15 And there were some cities which remained; but the damage thereof was exceedingly great, and there were many in them who were slain.
16 And there were some who were carried away in the whirlwind; and whither they went no man knoweth, save they know that they were carried away.
17 And thus the face of the whole earth became deformed, because of the tempests, and the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the quaking of the earth.
• • •
19 And it came to pass that when the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the storm, and the tempest, and the quakings of the earth did cease—for behold, they did last for about the space of three hours; and it was said by some that the time was greater; nevertheless, all these great and terrible things were done in about the space of three hours—and then behold, there was darkness upon the face of the land.
20 And it came to pass that there was thick darkness upon all the face of the land, insomuch that the inhabitants thereof who had not fallen could feel the vapor of darkness;
21 And there could be no light, because of the darkness, neither candles, neither torches; neither could there be fire kindled with their fine and exceedingly dry wood, so that there could not be any light at all;
22 And there was not any light seen, neither fire, nor glimmer, neither the sun, nor the moon, nor the stars, for so great were the mists of darkness which were upon the face of the land.
23 And it came to pass that it did last for the space of three days that there was no light seen; and there was great mourning and howling and weeping among all the people continually; yea, great were the groanings of the people, because of the darkness and the great destruction which had come upon them.
24 And in one place they were heard to cry, saying: O that we had repented before this great and terrible day, and then would our brethren have been spared, and they would not have been burned in that great city Zarahemla.
25 And in another place they were heard to cry and mourn, saying: O that we had repented before this great and terrible day, and had not killed and stoned the prophets, and cast them out; then would our mothers and our fair daughters, and our children have been spared, and not have been buried up in that great city Moronihah. And thus were the howlings of the people great and terrible.
3 Ne 9:1-2, 9, 12-18, 20-22
1 And it came to pass that there was a voice heard among all the inhabitants of the earth, upon all the face of this land, crying:
2 Wo, wo, wo unto this people; wo unto the inhabitants of the whole earth except they shall repent; for the devil laugheth, and his angels rejoice, because of the slain of the fair sons and daughters of my people; and it is because of their iniquity and abominations that they are fallen!
9 And behold, that great city Jacobugath, which was inhabited by the people of king Jacob, have I caused to be burned with fire because of their sins and their wickedness, which was above all the wickedness of the whole earth, because of their secret murders and combinations; for it was they that did destroy the peace of my people and the government of the land; therefore I did cause them to be burned, to destroy them from before my face, that the blood of the prophets and the saints should not come up unto me any more against them.
12 And many great destructions have I caused to come upon this land, and upon this people, because of their wickedness and their abominations.
13 O all ye that are spared because ye were more righteous than they, will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you? Doesn't this give us hope?
14 Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.
15 Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the Father in me; and in me hath the Father glorified his name.
16 I came unto my own, and my own received me not. And the scriptures concerning my coming are fulfilled.
17 And as many as have received me, to them have I given to become the sons of God; and even so will I to as many as shall believe on my name, for behold, by me redemption cometh, and in me is the law of Moses fulfilled.
18 I am the light and the life of the world. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
• • •
20 And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit. And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost, even as the Lamanites, because of their faith in me at the time of their conversion, were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and they knew it not.
21 Behold, I have come unto the world to bring redemption unto the world, to save the world from sin.
22 Therefore, whoso repenteth and cometh unto me as a little child, him will I receive, for of such is the kingdom of God. Behold, for such I have laid down my life, and have taken it up again; therefore repent, and come unto me ye ends of the earth, and be saved.

I'm not a prophet and don't pretend to see some collapse. What I do know is the last few prophets have all prophesied in favor of gratitude, looking toward the bright future, and against "prophets of doom and gloom".

This is grim reading. I am not prepared to shoot any holes in it, but I have possession of a document which might. I will review it and if I find something worth sharing I will post it. I am sure no one would get their feeling hurt if we discover we have more time than we thought.
Skip this and head for the real deal (Gordon B. Hinckley).
