Hello! I'm Jacqueline. :) I'm 16 years old, I turn 17 in June, and I'm currently Protestant. I'm very very strongly considering joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I turn 18.

Well, I'll tell you a bit about me. I love the Lord, of course. :D I'm from Dallas, Texas. I like to play video games; Xbox 360 preferrably. My favorite movie is Forrest Gump. My favorite hymn is "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing" and my favorite Temple (just from looking at it) is the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. My second favorite Temple is the Copenhagen, Denmark Temple.

My favorite color is purple. My favorite TV show is Glee. My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and my favorite food is sushi.

That's a bit about me. I can't wait to talk to you all! :D

YUM, sushi! (I served my mission in Japan :D )

Very warm welcome to you, I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Have you ever read Orson Scott Card? If you like the Harry Potter books, I bet you would enjoy "Ender's Game", "or the Prentice Alvin series, and I just got thru reading a new one called "Pathfinder" - very good, but it involves time travel and all of the paradoxes that entails...

Welcome!

Yay for sushi lovers! :D

Well, I first was led to the Church by seeing some commercials on TV. They were for the mormon.org website and I went on there and looked at their beliefs. I then ordered a Book of Mormon, and I've been reading it for a bit. One verse that really stood out for me was 1 Nephi 1:20 "...But behold, I, Nephi, will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance."

I just knew right away that the Church was true. Of course I prayed about it, and the warm whisper of happiness that stirred in my soul was just buzzing through me. It was like God was tugging on my heart with a string, and at the opposite end of the string was the Church.

I used to be curious about other Christian denominations; Eastern Orthodox, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian. But no denomination rang clearer and more true than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I know that when I convert, many people will be angry and confused. Some will try to understand and accept me. But in the end, I'm doing this for my Heavenly Father, so it's worth it. :)

And how I came to the forum? Well, I just searched "LDS forum" on Bing, and this forum came up!

Thanks for your words. I love your beautiful sweet and profound testimony. Keep reading and praying, and always remember how you feel now. Do you have any LDS friends?

Welcome, Tendermercies. Yes,the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. The Book of Mormon was preserved to come forth in our time because we'll need the Gospel to get through the coming years. I bleiieve the Lord is calling to all who will listen to his servants. That means that when you finally heard the truth, it rang true to you. You must have been a valiant daughter of our Heavenly Father before you came to earth and He has prepared the way for you. That means you must have some wonderful blessings waiting in store for you. I hope your family will not discourage you too much. Be patient and you can be a great example to your family and friends.

Welcome, Jacqueline. You've found a great forum with a wonderful community. I have learned and grown so much from others on the forum. Looking forward to learning from you as well.

I admire your great courage in following the Spirit in spite of the many who "will be angry and confused." Not that you asked, but I would greatly encourage you to seek BYU as a possible choice of college. My years there were lovely - so many great people, so many great teachers, and so many great experiences. Every college has its pluses and minuses, but there is none like BYU.

Thank you for your comment on my testimony. :) And no, I do not have any LDS friends as of now. But I will when I join the Church, I know I will!

I know I was, haha. I've got a strong spirit and belief in the Lord, and I bet I was one of the first to agree to come to Earth to learn. And thank you for the blessings comment. Life in general is such a blessing already, just think of the others that will come along!

Strange that you bring up BYU, because the other day, I was actually thinking about applying there for college! The perks are so amazing. Low tuition, many LDS students, and it's near my favorite Temple of all time. What more could you want?!

The Tender Mercies of the Lord by Elder David A. Bednar | Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

I testify that the tender mercies of the Lord are available to all of us and that the Redeemer of Israel is eager to bestow such gifts upon us.
