What items would you put on the list? Besides towels, plates, and the usual stuff?

Put things that you would be able to buy yourself if no one gets it for you. A lot of places will give you a discount if you purchase something on your list that no one gets you. My wife and I put a few expensive items thinking that some benevolent people would want to get them for us, they didn't and then we didn't have the money to get it ourselves even at the discount. It was then we realized if we had asked for the cheaper version of those items we would have been more likely to get them.

anything you can use for preparation of what is to come. Money is good, then you can get what you want.
