Not really sure how to take this. One theory is that the observation is due to a change in the local horizon. An accelerated by the melting of the Greenland ice sheet-related lower horizon earlier than previously allowed a glimpse of the sun appears. ( which sounds logical.)Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this? ? There are allot of different reasons being put out there how this has happened. One scientist said it might have to do with the polar shift. It does seem like Earth is going through some changes. Are the days being shortened??

This seems logical to me:

"Ever watch the sun rise or set? Ever look for the green flash? Ever noticed how distorted the sun is both with regard to shape and location by the atmosphere when it is at the horizon? whatreallyhappened.net/IMAGES/Green_flash_sequense_3-15-07.jpg Air refracts sunlight and the suns image. Absent the atmosphere, the sun would appear to rise later and set sooner than we see it, because atmospheric refraction bends the image of the sun slightly. We are setting cold temperature records all over the world this winter. And as air gets colder it gets denser, which means the index of refraction increases, which means at the horizon the image of the sun will be slightly higher than during warmer times."

The green flash is explained in Pirates of the Caribean 3 8)

Think "Pole shift" due to the Japanese earthquakes and movement of magnetic north. I understand that the earth tilted on its axis when the quakes began in New Zealand and Japan.

It also shortened the earth day (I guess it doesn't happen just for the righteous in the Latter-days!)
