Overcome Depression: Be bright Naturally

Post by dennis »

Overcoming Depression Naturally: Seven easy ways to be Bright and Happy.

In any given year, nearly 20 million adults in the United States have depression. Most people with depression do not seek treatment. I just had a nephew return home a month early from a Mission in Italy, because of this problem. Here are some natural and herbal remedies that are used to help over come a case of the Blues. They should be included in everybody's daily routine and diet, just out of good natural common sense.
1) Bust the blues with Omega-3's. Essential fatty acids are the number one food ingredient every brain cell must have every Day! Omega-3 fatty acids are a type of good essential oil needed for normal brain function. Our bodies can't make omega-3s on their own, so we must obtain them through our diet. Studies have linked depression with low dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids. In countries with higher fish consumption, such as Japan and Taiwan, the depression rate is 10 times lower than in North American. Postpartum depression is also less common. Cold water fish such as salmon, sardines, and anchovies are the richest food source of omega-3 fatty acids. Chia , flax and pumpkin seed are the three best plant based sources. A tasty and easy nutritious treat is a Strawberry (any) Berry Chia smoothie. http://hubpages.com/_1onvm2ab4x8ni/hub/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... d-more-Fun

2) Folic Acid

Folic acid, also called folate, is a B vitamin that is often deficient in people who are depressed.

Folate is found in green leafy vegetables, such as spinach and broccoli, asparagus, fruits, such as bananas, legumes, yeast, cereals, mushrooms, organ meat, orange juice and tomato juice. It's one of the most common vitamin deficiencies because of poor diet but also because chronic conditions and various medications such as aspirin and birth control pills can also lead to deficiency.

3) Vitamin B12
There is some evidence that people with depression respond better to treatment if they have higher levels of vitamin B12. Sources: fish, eggs, meat, poultry and milk and milk products.

4) Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 is needed to produce the mood-enhancing neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine.
5) Magnesium
Most people do not get enough magnesium in their diets. Good sources of magnesium are legumes, nuts, whole grains and green vegetables. Like vitamin B6, magnesium is needed for serotonin production. Stress depletes magnesium.

6) Bust the blues with morning light. Get more light especially early sunlight, because it stimulates serotonin production. During the winter when there is less sunlight, serotonin levels can drop, making us feel tired. Exposure to light in the morning helps turn on the body's wake up switch. Production of serotonin, a brain chemical that is key in influencing our mood, is turned on in the morning upon exposure to light.
7) Bust The Blues with exhilarating Exercise
Believe it or not, a good exhilarating exercise will decrease stress induced hormones. and increase mood elevating hormones.

Thanks for your thoughts Dennis!

I actually just got a special light this past week that's supposed to help for light deficiency. In winter, the days are very short where I live and and the lack of natural light is a big issue. I'm hoping it will help. I've been using it first thing in the morning.

These lamps are great but I recommend taking a lot of Vit D. Take two or three times the recommended dose in winter.

I know it sounds trite, but living the “temporal” laws of the gospel has been a tremendous blessing for me in this regard.

When I live the Word of Wisdom, go to bed early and arise early, work hard on my property (being a good steward), etc, I find my depression is largely held at bay. FWIW.

Cast out. Repent first then cast out. Say in the name of Jesus christ leave satan and never return. And say it at least 20 times a day throughout the day. If you don't do this, you will be possessed in the last days so badly that you'll start yelling randomly at people, swerving your car randomly if you're angry, and killing people like it says in joseph smiths vision. You are all possessed and no you don't know about it or feel it because why does the devil want to be detected? Period. I mean how much fun can he have in your brain when he possesses you just enough to make you mad at random people when they cut in front of you, or when they skip in front of you at lines in stores, or what about when you have weird phone calls and then you don't answer because you feel prompted to keep the phone off and not talk to any random stranger except family. These are all simple things happening to everyone or most people and they are from possession. Emotions that are negative, usually are from the adversary. Demons love making you depressed all your life, or in moments where it hurts most. They also love making you have random weird thoughts in your head about hurting people, hating others, and being strange in general. You will ne tormented with stupid small negative emotions forever, some very negative big emotions forever, and some terrible mistakes forever if you don't learn to cast out. Period. They love making you wonder why you did what you did, like why did I look at porn randomly at night I felt like I was not even able to pull myself away, the devil does this not the porn. Don't watch it btw just don't. If you make any serious transgression right now you will struggle in the next decade of your life. If you steal, kill, rob, murder babies in the womb, if you lie cheat or disbelieve in Jesus even, you will NOT MAKE IT IN THE SECOND COMING. ITS THAT SOON GUYS! I AM A MESSENGER OF WARNING AND HOPE AND DESTRUCTION SPIRITUALLY TO THOSE WHO DONT LISTEN.
