Can you clarify what you mean by this post? Because it DOES sound kinda disrespectful and defiling to an amazing process that God has blessed women with the ability to participate in. I think many of us are wondering what point you were trying to make here and how it applies to the thread.....

Indeed!

But then, it seems like other folks are jettisoned from the Forum for defending Mitt Romney's spiritual qualification. (I am not a defender of Romney, rather a defender of the free expression of honest points-of-view.)

And...despite being constantly reminded that we are only blessed with participation on this Forum by the grace of omnipotent & omnipresent will and force of Chaotic Moderators, I would have thought the arrogant expression 'the only democracy is your choice to participate' should rather suggest encouraging an openness of personal political and religious opinion over crass and utterly stupid posts.

Odd priorities, in my view.

I took it to mean that a lot of the time we get doom and gloomy. He is likening this to the fear a pregnant woman may have as her delivery date approaches. There is a lot of pain coming before the expected blessing. There may be concerns of whether we will survive the ordeal. So now, in the grand scheme of things we begin to have "contractions" I think he was making a light hearted attempt to tell us to chill out and look forward to the REAL point of what we are going thru - that's the way I took it, not as disrespect towards the fairer sex...

1984, I don't mean to imply you can't answer for yourself - please feel free to indicate if I am way off base on how I am reading you... ;)
You wrote it better than I could have!!! I just want to add that we don't know when the "nine months" even starts, or if we'll live long enough to go through the "birthing". I don't see why it's so important to look forward to the dreadful day, ya know? This has worried people for 2000 years, but all the worrying in the world changed nothing. It might have scared a few into submission, but I think choosing the right path because it's right is a better reason than doing it because your scared that today may be the last day to repent.

I guess I'm more in the GBH optimism camp combined with what the Lord told Joseph Smith: "trouble me no more on this matter." It's too gloomy worrying about the end of days. I'd rather "endure to the end", or, be optimistic and grateful for what the cards I've been dealt, dudes.

Amen, amen and amen. We should be looking forward, we should be looking to build the kingdom regardless of the circumstances. We have been called to live in this time and we should be happy about it.

Well, I guess I caught that sarcasm. Only...what mask is it I'm supposed to take off?

I've reduced my posts to so few these past months, I wasn't sure which % you could possibly miss.

Yes, Mark, the minus 50 wind chill factor is compounded considerably when the snow filled winds are sustaining at 45-50 mph with gusts of 65 mph! Every highway in North Dakota was closed for the blizzard last Friday . Eight hundred motorists had to be rescued by DOT, Highway Patrol, and what few military personnel we have left. NO lives lost!!!

Everyone just wanted to get home to the farm in order to see the newborn piglets.

Katie Woodbury, a North Dakota State College freshman, was driving from the school in Fargo to her family's farm in Stanley, northwest North Dakota, when road conditions forced her take shelter at a church in Medina.
'It was scary - I was talking to myself the whole time,' she said of her drive. 'I just want to get home and see my mom and dad and the 13 new piglets at the farm.

Today, I can go outside and breathe deeply. The snow is melting quickly; the geese are flying northward, the lambs are starting to be born; the chickens have begun laying once more; and ALL is WELL.

NO FOREBODING in our neck of the prairie.

Sorry to have insulted you, Shadow. I was hurt that you wouldn't miss ALL of my posts.

Don't worry about Shadow BG. I'll go over to Logan when the sun comes out in that tundra and smack him around a bit. Actually I am in awe that anyone would want to live in a huge freezer like you do. You are much stronger than me. I would have run away from home long ago and never looked back in the rear view mirror. I'd rather be trampled in the sty by momma pig and all her piglets than turn into a human Popsicle. :-s
