I was told that "the times of the Gentile has been fulfilled" as per President Packer or President Benson. Can someone verify this, and if so where and when??? Thank you.

From the Doctrine and Covenants and Church History seminary student manual:
Doctrine and Covenants 45:25–31 —“The Times of the Gentiles”

President Ezra Taft Benson taught:

“The Lord has designated these days in which we live as the ‘times of the Gentiles.’ The Gentile nations are the so-called Christian nations—North and South America and the European nations from which we came. The ‘times of the Gentiles’ refers to that period of time extending from when the gospel was restored to the world (1830) to when the gospel will again be preached to the Jews—after the Gentiles have rejected it. This is how the Lord explained it:

“‘And when the times of the Gentiles is come in, a light shall break forth among them that sit in darkness, and it shall be the fulness of my gospel;

“‘ But they receive it not; for they perceive not the light, and they turn their hearts from me because of the precepts of men.

“‘And in that generation shall the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.’ ( D&C 45:28–30 ; italics added.)

“We will know when the times of the Gentiles are approaching fulfillment by these signs:

“‘And in that day shall be heard of wars and rumors of wars, and the whole earth shall be in commotion, and men’s hearts shall fail them, and they shall say that Christ delayeth his coming until the end of the earth.

“‘And the love of men shall wax cold, and iniquity shall abound.’ ( D&C 45:26–27 .)

“‘And again, this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world, for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come, or the destruction of the wicked’ ( JST, Matt. 24:32 ).

“Are we not witnessing the fulfillment of these signs today? The gospel is being extended to all nations which permit our missionaries to penetrate their countries. The Church is prospering and growing. Yet in undiminished fury, and with an anxiety that his time is short—and it is—Satan, that great adversary to all men, is attempting to destroy all we hold dear” ( “Prepare Yourself for the Great Day of the Lord,” New Era, May 1982, 47 ).
Doctrine and Covenants 45:32 —“Holy Places”
Also, quotes from LDSLastDays.com:
CR, JF SMITH APR:1966

Jerusalem, which was trodden down by the Gentiles, is no longer trodden down but is made the home of the Jews. They are returning to Palestine, and by this we may know that the times of the Gentiles are near their close.
CR, JF SMITH JR APR:1911

From time to time, some one, filled with hatred of the truth, in the blind desire to destroy the work of the Lord, appeals to the nations to cast out the elders of Israel who are carrying this message of salvation unto all who will believe, and warning others that they may be left without excuse. It would be a sorry day for any nation, where the gospel is being preached, should it conclude to drive the elders of the Church from is borders and deny them the right to preach the gospel among the people. The elders insure peace unto the nations, so long as they will hear the message of salvation and will protect and defend the truth. When the time comes that the nation; will cast the elders out, and no longer receive their testimony, but "bow to Satan's thrall," as we heard in the anthem this afternoon, woe be unto them. We read in the word of the Lord that after the testimony of the elders will come wrath and indignation upon the people. For after their testimony will cone the testimony of earthquakes, that shall cause suffering and sorrow and men shall fall upon the ground for fear. There shall come also the testimony of thunderings, and the voice of lightnings, and the voice of tempests, and the voice of the waves of the sea heaving themselves beyond their bounds. All things shall be in commotion and men's hearts shall fail them because of fear that shall come upon the people. These things shall follow the testimony of the elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, when the people of the world reject them and drive them from their borders. We go unto them with a message of peace, of truth, of eternal salvation, calling upon them to repent of their sins and enter into the true fold, where they may receive rest. When they will not do this, but to the contrary, will listen to the unrighteous and condemn the truth, then God will withdraw the Gospel from among them. In that day the time of the Gentiles will be fulfilled, and the gospel will be carried to the Jews.
There are two possibilities that I see in this, first is as the above quotes indicate, that as the world rejects the message of the elders, they will be taken from their midst and sent to the Jewish/ tribes of Israel descendants around the world. There are particular places that we may not preach right now. One is Israel, also, we are also not in the muslim countries officially. These places will be opened when the gentiles reject our work, as I see it.

There is also an element I am not sure of.
And thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you: At that day when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and of mischiefs, and all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, and of secret abominations; and if they shall do all those things, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, behold, saith the Father, I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them.
3 Nephi 16:10

Does this refer to LDS gentiles? Perhaps there are two parts to this prophecy. One is the rejection of the elders by the nations, the other is the rejection of the fullness of the gospel by the members, whether overtly, or by their complacency.

Anyone else have a quote that clarifies this?

Just my opinion but it does refer to the LDS "gentiles" :( Also, the way I way I understand it is that the time of the gentiles in ending but hasn't ended yet. So the question is how much longer will the time of the gentiles last???

The Book of Mormon makes it clear that the members of the LDS church(at least here in America) are called gentiles. Joseph Smith even says in D&C, that we are the gentiles talked about in the Book of Mormon. If you look at these words in the above scripture- "when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel" it becomes clear that the Lord it talking about members of His church. How can someone "sin against His gospel" unless they have it.

The scripture above also says that if we reject the fullness of His gospel it will be taken from among us. It will then be taken to the Jews and the rest of the house of Israel. Those who bring the Jews and Lehi's descendants to a knowledge of the gospel in the latter days are of Ephraim from among the gentiles--"the fullness of the gentiles".(1 Nephi 15:13-14; 3 Nephi 16:4) Both of these scriptures use the term "fullness of the gentiles" differently than we usually hear. They use it to describe a "group" of righteous people who do something, ie. take the gospel to the rest of the house of Israel.

First the Lord removes the gentiles stumbling blocks by bringing forth to them the Book of Mormon(1 Nephi 13:34-36). Second, "other books" or "records" come forth among the gentiles by the power of the Lamb--to convince the Gentiles, the scattered jews, and the Lamanites of the truthfulness of the Bible (1 Nephi 13:39-40). I wonder what it will take to convert a "Jew" to Jesus Christ?

It will take Jesus Christ himself - when he stands on the Mount of Olives and shows them his wounds...

Will the plagues and destruction come upon those who sin against my gospel? I think very much so. Another reason to move out of SLC.

Why are we admonished to...
D & C 98:16-17
16-Therefore, renounce war and proclaim peace, and seek diligently to turn the hearts of the children to their fathers, and the hearts of the fathers to the children;
17-And again, the hearts of the Jews unto the prophets, and the prophets unto the Jews; lest I come and smite the whole earth with a curse, and all flesh be consumed before me.
There are many Book of Mormon scriptures that say the Jews will be converted to Jesus Christ by something "seperate" from His saving them on the Mount of Olives. For example-
2 Nephi 6:11
11-Wherefore, after they are driven to and fro, for thus saith the angel, many shall be afflicted in the flesh, and shall not be suffered to perish, because of the prayers of the faithful; they shall be scattered, and smitten, and hated; nevertheless, the Lord will be merciful unto them, that when they shall come to the knowledge of their Redeemer, they shall be gathered together again to the lands of their inheritance
2 Nephi 25:16-18
16-And after they have been scattered, and the Lord God hath scourged them by other nations for the space of many generations, yea, even down from generation to generation until they shall be persuaded to believe in Christ, the Son of God, and the atonement, which is infinite for all mankind—and when that day shall come that they shall believe in Christ, and worship the Father in his name, with pure hearts and clean hands, and look not forward any more for another Messiah, then, at that time, the day will come that it must needs be expedient that they should believe these things.
17-And the Lord will set his hand again the second time to restore his people from their lost and fallen state. Wherefore, he will proceed to do a marvelous work and a wonder among the children of men.
18-Wherefore, he shall bring forth his words unto them, which words shall judge them at the last day, for they shall be given them for the purpose of convincing them of the true Messiah, who was rejected by them; and unto the convincing of them that they need not look forward any more for a Messiah to come, for there should not any come, save it should be a false Messiah which should deceive the people; for there is save one Messiah spoken of by the prophets, and that Messiah is he who should be rejected of the Jews
3 Nephi 20:29-31
29-And I will remember the covenant which I have made with my people; and I have covenanted with them that I would gather them together in mine own due time, that I would give unto them again the land of their fathers for their inheritance, which is the land of Jerusalem, which is the promised land unto them forever, saith the Father.
30-And it shall come to pass that the time cometh, when the fulness of my gospel shall be preached unto them;
31-And they shall believe in me, that I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and shall pray unto the Father in my name.
Mormon 5:14
14-And behold, they shall go unto the unbelieving of the Jews; and for this intent shall they go—that they may be persuaded that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God; that the Father may bring about, through his most Beloved, his great and eternal purpose, in restoring the Jews, or all the house of Israel, to the land of their inheritance, which the Lord their God hath given them, unto the fulfilling of his covenant;
There are a few scriptures in the Old Testament that show how these "conflicting prophesies" can both be fulfilled, as is always the case with the scriptures.

Unfortunately the rest of the world is on schedule to be cleasned as well. I guess when Isaiah says to flee Babylon, he really means it. It seems to be our only hope.

But if ye will not hearken unto me and if ye shall despise my statutes , or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do ALL my commandments, BUT YE BREAK my covenant; i also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you TERROR, consumtion, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart; and ye shall sow your seed in vain..and ye shall be slain before your enemies; they that HATE YOU SHALL REIGH OVER YOU; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you then I will punish you seven times more for your sins, and I will break the PRIDE OF YOUR POWER.

Besides famine and terror , Slavery is in our future. Moroni is right on when he warns us about the Secret Conspiracy . When it is to late the nay sayers will come out of their comas and realize it is a CONSPIRCY FACT.

So would that mean it would be safer in another country rather than the USA?

Dennis,
Slavery is our PRESENT. We pay tribute almost every time we make a purchase. Our sons are required to sign up for selective service. The list of lost liberties goes on and on. It doesn't take chains to make a slave.

Times of the Gentiles will not be fulfilled until all the world has had the Gospel preached to them.
