I don't think it's very cost effective but it sure would be nice when the entire infrastructure is knocked out for a year or two in 2012. They told me it would cost $50k for my home which is just over 3k square feet and faces in a south west direction. This same system will also generate electricity with new additions that they said will come out within the next year.
