I spent about $400 yesterday and know that I extended my food staorage by 6 weeks to 2 months at least. Anyone who isn't ready, I recommend doing whatever you can, other than accruing debt, to take advantage. Yes, EVEN SELLING GOLD AND SILVER!
Caselot sales at Macy's are awesome!

Even with the sales some of the "basics" such as wheat are significantly higher than they have been. the bags of rice that normally are aound $20 that are on sale for $6 are awesome.

Yep, I am buying extra food for storage as much as I can. This is not new; I've been doing it for years.

I cannot agree more, for the past ten months I've been preparing as best I can. Over 1 year of food storage and climbing. I just hope i can endure through this troubling time.

How long does the caselot sale last? I don't live in UT but have family there so I want to get them to pick a couple things up for me...but need to know how much longer I have to get them to a Macy's.
I have family pick things up all the time and always plan for room for lots of food storage stuff in the vehicle for our drive home from Utah.
We have a General Mills plant/warehouse nearby and they have a United Way fundraiser each year and have case sales. They have the Green Giant canned veggies for 50 cents/can. They also have several other things for decent prices for "brand name" items...but they are short term, rotate yearly type items like brownie mixes and stuff. I'm always envious of the great oportunities you have in Utah but do what I can here in IL.

I do not know how long it lasts. My guess is until next Tuesday (it started last Wednesday). But it could end sooner or later, I don't know.
