How to tell when Signs are fulfilled

Post by Joppa »

With so many fulfillment of signs how are we to tell when the signs are fulfilled. Google 'Red Moon' and you will see several pictures of a red Moon. But I would like to hear your opinions as to how we know that a sign has been fulfilled and we don't have to look for these signs anymore.

Ultimately, signs are meant to be studied looking backwards. For example, has the moon "turned to blood?" There are several occasions where it has appeared so in various geographical locations. It happens when volcanoes explode, when oil fields are set on fire, when dust storms happen.

As a symbolic sign, courtesy of Carlos, it may signify how the violence increases in the last days. this has certainly happened, but is that the end of it? Is there more to this literally?

Will we ever see moons "turning to blood" again? Well, in the first instance, these things happen intermittently all the time in different parts of the world. In order for it to qualify as a sign of the last days, there must be something unique about it than how it may appear through volcanic ash at one time in history. Perhaps the sign is that it will be over the entire earth, that it will appear as blood to every eye on the globe at a particular time, or that it will so astonishing that people take notice of it everywhere. Would this qualify? For me, that's a pretty good standard to judge by. It's fits the qualifications of being a unique event that we haven't seen, and is unequivocal to the text. If the sign is calamitous in nature, does it have the effect of bringing people to repentance or is it so vague as to pass by without much notice. I'm not sure the moon to blood is calamitous.

The other question to ask is has it already happened to such an extent in history and we're not aware of it? If it has, it may qualify. Research would then be needed.

Finally, if it happens once, does it mean it cannot happen again? I think you can say something is fulfilled as prophetic when it happens once--but that doesn't mean that the fulfillment has been completed. Only when standing in the Millennium may we have that kind of hindsight. We have no idea how long the moon is supposed to appear as blood, or it will go away and come back intermittently.
