what do you think? Is it true. because if it is, it sure explains a lot of things. But I don't believe it was man made. I think the sun is pumping out a whole lot more.

I need to measure the sunlight angle and compare it to my old solarpower charts to see if the angles still matches.

http://www.wattsun.com/resources/calcul ... _tilt.html

The month of September should be off.

This website has not changed the numbers for my latitude, yet.

My paper copy was 4/23/2006 before said date on the website.

Data is for the solar noon on the 21st day of each month.

I'll do this test today at noon.

Good Wormwood, let us know what you find. The others could do the same thing. You all could find out what is true about this article by applying some common sense.

I had the same feeling. I had to check to see this website findings were true. One red flag to me was the theory of why it happened. It stated that the melting of glaciers caused the earth to "tilt". Sounds like a global warming advocate to me.

Anyway, one thing that has not change in respect to the earth is the stars. Before the "tilt"; the earth rotation was pointed at the North Star. Does it still point at the north star after the "tilt"? It shouldn't.
The article didn't mention the magnetic poles shifting. I would think that it would shift along with the whole earth. That would mean that the old fashion Boy Scout compass would be off by about 30 degrees. (For those in North America, I think the southern hemisphere uses the southern crown.) Well the magnetic north pole deviated from true north by about 15 degrees before the "tilt".
So the compass will now deviate 45 degrees or - 15 degrees.

What are other people finding? Do the star constellations line up for this time of the year? Does the earth rise or set at the same location this year as it did last year? Has the shadows changed from what you are use to?
For example, when I moved into this house, I put the edge of the garden at the edge of the shadow which the property fence cast for the month of March. That was about five feet from the property line.

Anyone?

The best way to varify this shift is to set up a telescope with a base and fix it on the North Star. Within a few hours it will either stay as it has always done or move. I don't have access such a telescope. Someone find one and give it a try.

I thought it was an interesting link, I don't buy into it at all, but interesting for sure. I can't imagine the government being the only ones that would know. There are thousands of astrologers world wide that would have noticed, not to mention all the universities that study space. Plus Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and severe storms have progressively gotten worse over the last century, especially the last decade, not just this year.

I checked last night. The sun set at about the same spot it normally does this time of year over the Wellsvilles. In the summer it's over the Mendon - Petersboro area, in the winter it's closer to Wellsville. I grew up in the same area I now live in, so I'm used to the scenery. A 26 degree change would be obviously noticeable.

I'm like the rest of you, interested but not convinced. I did notice something this summer that makes me think it might be true.

I built a large green room, lots of southern windows taking up the whole south side of my home. As I was estimating where the sun should be this summer to decide how much roof overhang I needed to limit the summer exposure, I noticed that the sun seemed to be rising and setting in the NEE and NWW respectively and at 39 degrees north latitude where we love it should have been SEE and SWW. I had no sunshine coming in even without any awning. I chalked it up to some health issues I was having and then never got back to the project.

However, I think the timing of this smells like a hoax as September 20th/21st is the fall equinox so the sun should be over the equator in the yearly cycle so angle calculations would be the same now whether the axis had shifted or not.

I'm not a scholar but it seems to me it would be the same angles at the equinox. It would only be at the extremes, Dec and March that it would be most noticeable.

BTW, thanks Wormwood for the link.

The web site is wrong. I measured the suns shadow yesterday at 1:00pm (daylightsaving time) or true noon. I also took measurements of suns shadow at 11:00 am 12:00 noon.

I was with in one degree off of my angles for my latitude. but I was expecting that much.

So web site was misinformation in my opinion.

With what is mentioned above, I would say check again in December to be certain, since it is the equinox.

This part did catch my attention

http://www.divulgence.net/Wildlife.html

I have noticed things that are different this year with the animals then the last 3 years that we have been here, but I have only been here for 4 years, so there is no way to know if it is really different.

I know that we have Armadillos that are migrating here from Texas. They weren't really around much before then, according to the old timers. The whipper will is not heard like it used to be. Usually it is pretty loud in the spring, but we were able to only hear one this year. Which was very odd. I figured it was because of the effects of the ice storm in January.

We have had an increase in Starlings this year also, and I mean a TON in our neighborhood. They swoop in and steal the dog food.. it is amazing!

But, this could all be part of a normal larger cycle that we have not experienced, but then again the old timers talk about things not being right all the time.

And we have also started seeing foxes in our neighborhood now.

Anyone in Brazil in December?

This could be false too but I did find this part:

When the earth's tilt was normal before the slippage, the sun was directly over the equator on Sept 23rd and again on Mar 21st. Despite the 2000 mile shift of the earth's axis, the sun will still continue to be directly over the equator on those dates. So everything will appear completely normal on those dates.

A 2000 mile shift does not create a dramatic change in the appearance of the stars as some people might think. A 26 degree change in the angle of the sun does not translate into a 26 degree change in the stars. This is due to the distance and size perception of the stars versus the sun. If you traveled from Chicago to Brownsville TX, you would not notice any difference in the stars at all if it was the exact same time of night on the same day. (keep in mind that the earth continues to rotate and orbit the sun so this causes the stars you see to move throughout the night).

A similar problem people mistake is to think they would be able to feel a 2000 mile shift but that is not the case. The earth rotates just under 25,000 miles each day. Or about 1038 miles each hour, but you cannot feel the rotation of the earth or the orbit of the earth around the sun. So when you think about this, 2000 miles is much less in comparison with the movements constantly occurring with our planet in motion.

As we move closer to Autumn, the angle of the sun is returning to a more normal position. As we move toward winter, the sun will again be 26 degrees but to the south this time. From the northern hemisphere, it would be difficult to notice. Someone in Brazil would be better able to see the difference in angle. The best time to see the axis change from the US is in the month of June during sunrise and sunset.... at the moment it begins to pass behind the horizon. If you try to judge this while it is in the sky, it will throw you off because the path of the sun across the sky is curved.

However, since the sun is supposed to be directly above the Tropic of Cancer in central Mexico at noon on June 21st.... and you live in the US and see the sun setting and rising to the North of your location, that is the one conclusive piece of evidence which cannot be obscured or manipulated. The sun should never rise or set to the north of the tropic of cancer.

I don't think that site holds much water. Regardless if you could tell that the axis had changed, the amount of change they are claiming in the axis would cause beyond the minor climatic changes we are currently expierencing. If you have a globe and a light to play with you can experiment with this. If you pay attention to the total exposure time through one revolution you can see the areas that would receive the most energy in one rotation period. Change the axis, and the heating cycle various enormously. I think the minor climatic, yes minor, could be due to the new wobble created from the 2004 indonesian earthquake. That was less than 1/6 degree (2.5cm) of change in wobble and according to some that wobble disipated with time. I'm not so sure.

If that is the case imagine what 26 degrees would do to climate cycles.

http://slate.com/id/2111443/

http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/env99/env275.htm

If and when it does change it would be fairly obvious. We would be talking about apocalyptic changes. Stuff like the stars falling from there places, earthquakes, lightnings and thunderings, massive upheavals of land mass, massive extremes in summer and winter for a few examples. I think the focus should b on why it would change.

It is definitely a sign to look for...

Rev. 8: 12

12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

I was listening to Glenn Kimball speak on Coast to Coast. I know this radio program isn't really known for it's ability to prove what's being said, but this one was interesting. It dealt with the Mayan calander and the events of 2012. Before you read the recap, have a think of this question. "I wonder what effect Nuclear Warfare would have on the earths tilt/wobble? Could this cause the disasters that the Mayans have predicted?" We know Nuclear Warfare will happen. And according to some dreams of past prophets, some cities will be covered by water? Anyway here it is.

http://www.coasttocoastam.com/shows/2007/09/15.html
In the Year 2012...
Expert in ancient manuscripts, Glenn Kimball, discussed what the Mayans and other ancients recorded on their calendars about the year 2012, and the grand implications of what could be in store for humanity. Kimball began by describing a visit he received from a mysterious messenger, who claimed to represent the six remaining Mayan tribes. He said the visitor showed him photographs of an ancient 800-page document engraved on metal sheets, as well as pictures of the underground dwelling of the six Mayan tribes (located somewhere in the Yucatan Peninsula).

Kimball said the Mayans "knew more about the cosmos than we do" and based their calendar on the 25,640-year precessionary cycle of the solar system, dividing it into 12 quadrants. The Mayan calendar ends just as this precessionary cycle finishes, Kimball noted, in the year 2012. By then, and because of the Earth's wobble and alignment with the Sun and the center of the galaxy, there will be a tendency for our planet to shift its polarity, he explained. According to Kimball, the shift will cause ocean currents to reverse, leading to massive flooding, volcanic eruptions and devastating global climate change. He does not, however, believe this will be the end of the world.

The date is December 21, 2012.

There is a man at UVSC in Orem Utah that has talked about this. There is also supposed to be a significant event on April 6, 2009.

My understanding was that the Mayan calendar had to end somewhere. 2012 might just be as far as they got, not that it signifies any special event like the end of the world or the earths axis being knocked out of whack. Maybe I'm wrong.

What is to happen on 4/06/2009? I haven't heard that one. April 6th is a historical date for sure. It will fall on a Monday the day after General Conference.

The Mayan calender naturally ended there because of the celestial attributes they based it upon. But.....

Another way to re-phrase that is that it ends there because that is the natural end of "one eternal round." Dah, Dah dah!!! Seriously though.

I read somewhere else that in 2012, that we are supposed to "sink" through the Milky Way, and end up on the bottom, wasn't that on this site too?

I don't think he said what that even would be, just that there has always been significant celestial activity on important dates like Christ's birth and death and Joseph Smith's and Moses and he named a lot of people and the events... I do not however remember his name, or what his web site was that explained all this stuff...

He was comparing multiple ancient calendars and how they all pointed to specific dates, like Christ's birth etc.. it was really interesting stuff...

In the last year I've spoken one on one with a couple of experts on the Mayan calendar. They both agreed that the calendar doesn't end, it just starts another very large cycle and that makes it look to some like it ends there. They believed this next cycle would start with cataclysmic events, primarily a huge earthquake, but then it would lead the world into a thousand years of peace.

Steven Jones taught at education week at BYU last year about the Mayans and the similarities in their doctrine, calendar, etc to LDS beliefs. I was able to speak with him again last week about it and his slide presentation, quoting non-LDS sources is very impressive. As he begins his presentation and then several times later in the presentation he reminds those present that these quotes are from non-LDS experts and not just looking for similarities in the temple ceremony and Mayan religious rites.

The most impressive portion was their belief that their white god with a beard and large nose appeared to them, healed their sick, raised their dead, and had holes in his palms and in his wrists. Again, that was from non-LDS experts. Their sculptures, carvings, and paintings clearly show these marks.

Maybe they just ran out of room. It probably could have gone to 3012 if they had just carved it on a bigger rock.

Apparently the Mayan had a 5125.36 year cycle that ends on 12/21/2012. That puts the beginning date at 08/11/3114 B.C. However, a new cycle will begin. There's more to 12/21/2012 regarding the Suns location in relation to the milky Way.

There is a religion in India that also discusses this time of peace.

I will look for the you tube videos I found several weeks ago. They call their leader the Enlightened one, and he was saying that they are about to enter a new era of time, and that it will be time of unity, not in a world order, but a united order. Not under Communism or Socialis, but something else altogether. And he talked to his followers about purifying themselves to prepare for this time of peace and being one with all things.
