Gold actually has set a new high, but silver is a looooong way from it's record highs set back in the 80's.
It's just people are waking up to the printing press funny money.
Jason where are you?
The question is when gold moves downward will it be called "profit taking" or will it be called "government manipulation"?

Don't put it past the criminals in Washington to issue a gold confiscation order like Roosevelt did back in 1933:
Amazing... it all went to the 'Fed'Executive Order 6102 required U.S. citizens to deliver on or before May 1, 1933 all but a small amount of gold coin, gold bullion, and gold certificates owned by them to the Federal Reserve, in exchange for $20.67 per troy ounce. Under the Trading With the Enemy Act of October 6, 1917, as amended on March 9, 1933, violation of the order was punishable by fine up to $10,000 ($167,700 if adjusted for inflation as of 2010) or up to ten years in prison, or both. Most citizens who owned large amounts of gold had it transferred to countries such as Switzerland. The price of gold from the treasury for international transactions was thereafter raised to $35 an ounce ($587 in 2010 dollars).![]()
after a mark-up of 60% from what was paid to the people for it.
But... that's how con men operate.

Besides it being cheaper and in smaller amounts and thus easier to trade, that historical fact is exactly why I bought silver.Don't put it past the criminals in Washington to issue a gold confiscation order like Roosevelt did back in 1933:
The more the dollar falls the more pressure to raise interest rates.. If you have credit card debt I really suggest you do what you can over the next 6-12 months.

May I ask in what type of silver are you investing? Junk silver coins, ingots, rounds?hedgehog wrote:Besides it being cheaper and in smaller amounts and thus easier to trade, that historical fact is exactly why I bought silver.Don't put it past the criminals in Washington to issue a gold confiscation order like Roosevelt did back in 1933:

Re: Gold and Silver approach record highs... What's coming?
Its been awhile but I believe these are called silver rounds. I got them from
http://www.rustcoin.com/
A few blocks from temple square. They were only like a dollar more then the cheapest online stores. No tax on gold or silver in Utah.
No flash, I liked that they showed the ".999 fine" and "one troy ounce" imprinted on them. I had some concerns about that with the junk coin route.
They are very shiny. They just come in funny plastic tubes like this.
I truly hope these become just a funny story from a different time I end up giving to my grandkids and never find myself needing to use them. But just in case I am glad I have them.
