Nuclear Dirty Bomb

Post by NoGreaterLove »

IF ONLY A 'Dirty Bomb' Attack (Not the vastly more devastating nuclear weapon blasts with fallout discussed below.) - You can expect localized and downwind contamination from the explosion and dispersed radioactive materials. If you are near enough to see or hear any local bomb blast, assume that it includes radiological or chemical agents. You should move away from the blast area as quickly as possible. If the wind is blowing toward you from the direction of the blast, travel in a direction that is crosswise or perpendicular to the wind as you move away from the blast area. If possible cover your face with a dust mask or cloth to avoid inhaling potentially radioactive dust. Upon reaching a safe location, remove your outer clothing outside and shower as soon as possible. Refer to local news sources for additional instructions about sheltering or evacuation. The government is better prepared to direct and assist the public in 'dirty bomb' emergencies, unlike more serious nuclear weapon attacks below.

Re: Nuclear Dirty Bomb

Now that you mention the 'dirty bomb' topic, this reminds me of a thought I had on the whole matter. Let's see if anyone can correct my thinking if it needs to be corrected.

We go into Iraq because Saddam has 'weapons of mass destruction'. Some say they were there, some say they weren't, some say it was all a lie - fine, don't care about that right now. The more important question is how we are vulnerable to said weapons. I'm thinking there are basically 2 ways that they could threaten us: 1. Launched by a ICBM, 2. Sneaked into the US via Mexico as a dirty bomb.

To me situation one involving an ICBM is impossible because of our missile defenses, we have jets with lasers in them that can shoot a basketball-sized hole through any missile they detect coming out of that area. We have numerous other defenses in this respect as well. There's no way any country over there could hit us with their technology. That would mean attacking Iraq to protect us from them launching missiles at us would be a false premise.

So that brings us to situation 2, a dirty bomb. A dirty bomb in my mind is a much more likely scenario. Mexican citizens are flooding across the border, the cartels and coyotes are there smuggling people constantly and it would be easy to find some Iraqis who could play the part of a Mexican as their physical characteristics are very similar.

But if a dirty bomb is our greatest threat and a missile is our weakest threat, then shouldn't our course of action have been to use our soldiers to lock down our borders and not attack Iraq via an astronomically expensive and deadly war? But we have attacked a nation that had no capabilities for a missile strike, no weapons and the strength of our entire fighting force is over in a foreign land while our borders are as open as a 24/7 Walmart, leaving us completely vulnerable to any of the other countries who ALSO have CONFIRMED nukes!

So in my mind, this war is not about a 'threat'. It was an adult with holding an M16 beating up a 5-year old holding a butter knife. This war is not moral, this war is about expanding an empire, spending our strength, weakening us and building up combinations to get gain. We destroy 1 million citizens of this country, injuring millions of others, using depleted uranium rounds and white phosphorus and then bring in private contractors to make millions fixing what we broke, contractors that have a conflict of interest because the more there is to fix, the more money they make. If Iraq is restored to a paradise, they don't get paid!

Anyway, I know that I'm just barely scratching the surface here, but here it is for what it's worth. I love my country but who is the only country that has ever used nuclear weapons, Christians or Muslims? Who has killed more of the other, Christians or Muslims? Saudi Arabians apparently killed 3000 Americans on 9-11 so we, a Christian nation slaughter 1,000,000 Muslims in Iraq and we force our system of government on them because they are 'brutal savages' non-Christian infidels. Who are the real terrorists?

It's true that the Iraqis have killed thousands of our troops but let's paint a little scenario here. Let's say history happened differently. Let's say that Iraq decided one day that Americans are savages, we abort 50,000,000 of our babies, we sit in front of TVs and movie screens watching filth like Saw IV and the other blasphemy that comes from Hollywood, we delight in fornication, adultery and sodomy and we are continually selling this garbage to the rest of the world, demoralizing and destroying cultures and families through a kind of subtle moral terrorism. We have tens of thousands of nuclear weapons and we have actually used them in the past, we use our military strength to get our way, spread throughout the world and we cherish our 'freedom'. The Iraqis decide that the only way to protect themselves is to attack us to defend themselves and to free us by giving us a better law, a Sharia law that would make us happier in the future. So they invade Texas (which is around the size of Iraq). What do you think the Texans are going to do? Welcome them with open arms, and shower them with Bar-b-q and country music? No you are going to have a slaughter and those Texans will NEVER stop fighting, no matter how long that Iraqi army stays and no matter how deep they integrate Sharia law into the Texas government, those Texans will fight to the death forever and never surrender. They have guns and they will kill Iraqi troops any chance they get. The Iraqi media will then promote a worship of their troops, all those who have died in the glorious cause of their country and laws and look with scorn upon the Texan insurgents who would dare resist all the good that Iraq is trying to do for them.

Anyway, it's just an analogy, but I don't think it's that far from the truth when we reverse things a bit. We invaded their country illegally and killed a million of their people, don't you think that this would affect a vast majority of the country? How would you feel if you lost siblings, children, cousins or you had several friends who lost their loved ones? What would you do? Just take it or rise up and fight? Remember THEY DIDN'T ATTACK US! THEY NEVER KILLED ONE AMERICAN!

If I'm wrong, and I probably am at certain points, I'd love to hear some good arguments.
