7 Angels - Cherubim Seraphim Intelligences...
Just when you thought things couldn't get any crazier...
I'm sure we have all heard of the 7 great Arch angels, Michael - Adam, Phanuel/Uriel - Moroni, Raphael - Moses, Gabriel - Noah, Remiel - Enoch, Saraqael - Joseph, Raguel - Daniel... I won't bother telling you how I know who is who because you wouldn't believe me and for some reason everyone and I mean everyone seems to really want Joseph Smith to be one, but he's not.
What is interesting is that they all have their individual Roles and are apart of either or 2 organizations. One of the Angels doubles as a member of both organizations to communicate between the two. Each Angel has a SEAL of time which he is in charge of and will give a reporting of his seal at the big meeting prior to the millennium, which interesting enough is REV chapters 8 and 9 I think. So you think all that crazy stuff is talking about things to come little do we know that it could be talking about things that have happened that will be reported in the future...
Even more interesting is that one organization is in charge of bringing people from outside the church inside the church and another from bringing those inside the church to their Calling and Election. So from the Light of Christ to the Spirit of Christ (confirmation) and then from the Spirit of Christ to the Fullness of the Holy Ghost. There is an angel who is in charge of those who partake of the Sacrament unworthily, and an angel over Chaos.
The Cherubim (four wings) have power over the intelligence organizations of the Light of Christ and the Spirit of Christ, where as the Seraphim (six wings) have power over the Light of Christ Spirit of Christ and the Holy Ghost.
Between the scriptures (including modern revelation), Egyptology, and early christian writings it isn't hard to sort it all out. I know that I've Mixed up two of the Egyptian names for the Angels so don't pay those to much heed for the moment. That being said if you have the Stomach to work through it all I've posted supported Drawings and explanations here...

Random Question... do the sins that Christ has taken upon himself for our sake stay with him eternally? Where do they Go?

Re: 7 Angels - Cherubim Seraphim Intelligences...
I find your certainty on Joseph Smith not being one of the Archangels a bit unnerving.
Especially in light of your uncertainty here "I know that I've Mixed up two of the Egyptian names for the Angels so don't pay those to much heed for the moment."
This statement I also did not find reassuring:
"I won't bother telling you how I know who is who because you wouldn't believe me...."
Dr. John P. Pratt speculates that Joseph Smith is Phanuel.
http://www.johnpratt.com/items/docs/lds ... stars.html
"2.4 Phanuel
The angel Phanuel is not mentioned in the canonized scriptures although one allusion to him may be found where Jacob names a place Peniel (Phanuel), perhaps after the angel he is thought to have wrestled with (Gen. 32:24-30). The name Phanuel, given in the Book of Enoch, means "the Face of God." There are several clues to help us identify just who Phanuel might be.
First, Enoch was told us that Phanuel "presides over repentance, and the hope of those who will inherit eternal life" (Enoch 40:9). In a way, that clue alone really narrows down the prospects. After all, how many men is history have a legitimate claim to be the one who presides over the hope of all who will inherit eternal life?
Second, the constellation corresponding to Phanuel must be the Bull, because the other three all seem to be clearly identified with one of the other three angels. Moreover, the order in which the angel's names were given matches the order of the four cornerstone constellations. As was discussed in Part I, one symbolism of the Bull is that it represents the Kingdom of God which will be set up in the last days to bulldoze the nations and to gather Israel. Thus it seems likely that Phanuel is associated with the Kingdom of God in the last days.
The third clue is the location of the bright star in the constellation. Aldebaran, which means "the Follower," is located at the eye of the Bull. The eye is often the symbol of a seer. In Part I we discussed how the star's location in the figure is important: Regulus as the heart of the Lion representing emotions, Fomalhaut in the head of the Southern Fish representing the mind, and Antares as the heart of the Scorpion representing judgment and strength. This constellation is identified with Joseph of Egypt, who was a great seer.
Who then could fit the description of being a great seer who would lead the Kingdom of God in the last days to gather Israel, and upon whom the hope for eternal life for even those in past ages would depend? Could it be anyone other than the Prophet Joseph Smith?[10]
Phanuel: Joseph Smith. The Prophet Joseph Smith was known even by name to his ancestor Joseph of Egypt, who prophesied that a "choice seer" would be raised up in the last days from his seed to restore the gospel (2 Nephi 3:6-21). The Bull was associated with the tribe of Joseph, and Joseph Smith is identified as being a literal descendent of Joseph of Egypt. In addition to being the great Seer, he founded the Kingdom of God, which the white Bull represents so graphically in the prophesies of Moses and Enoch. He follows the other prophets chronologically, just as does the Bull, and prepares the way for the return of Adam, the Prince, at Adam-ondi-Ahman (D&C 116), as well as for the return of the Savior, the King of Kings.
The strongest argument supporting the proposal that Phanuel is Joseph Smith is his presiding over the "hope of those who would inherit eternal life." It was through his ministry that the great temple work was established to provide the required ordinances for all those who have lived through the ages, who had not a chance to receive them during their mortal life. Consider just how much the Prophet Joseph Smith did for the salvation of mankind:
"Joseph Smith, the Prophet and Seer of the Lord, has done more, save Jesus only, for the salvation of men in this world, than any other man that ever lived in it. In the short space of twenty years, he has brought forth the Book of Mormon, which he translated by the gift and power of God, and has been the means of publishing it on two continents; has sent the fulness of the everlasting gospel, which it contained, to the four quarters of the earth; has brought forth the revelations and commandments which compose this book of Doctrine and Covenants, and many other wise documents and instructions for the benefit of the children of men; gathered many thousands of the Latter-day Saints, founded a great city, and left a fame and name that cannot be slain. He lived great, and he died great in the eyes of God and his people; and like most of the Lord's anointed in ancient time, has sealed his mission and his works with his own blood" (D&C 135:3).
It has not always been clear to me how the Prophet Joseph Smith could be second only to Christ in accomplishments for the salvation of mankind, and yet below both Adam and Noah in priesthood authority. Now the Book of Enoch and the constellation symbolism together resolve that apparent dilemma admirably. The key is that the "salvation of men" was a special priesthood assignment to the Prophet Joseph Smith. Even though other angels ranked above him in priesthood authority, they had other specialties such as commanding the nations."
I taught a lesson this year from the Gospel Principles book that included a quote from Joseph Smith where he said, "Oh, that I had the language of the archangel to express my feelings once to my friends! But I never expect to in this life.” http://lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?hideN ... 82620aRCRD
This quote seemed to me to lend weight to the possibility that Joseph was an Archangel, as he seems to imply that he may be expecting to in the next life.

I agree with PSCahill. I love to read the writings of John Pratt!! It leaves me with a good feeling and new information about many things I never knew before, especially this article about Phanuel. Thanks so much for posting.

It would be great if you could cite your references for this. With only your assurance that we wouldn't believe you if you did tell us, this lands the majority of the post solidly in the "wild speculation" column.AngelPalmoni wrote:Just when you thought things couldn't get any crazier...

I apologize for the way I presented it, I can see now that it was too late in the morning to be thinking straight. I hope that you can at least look at then without thinking I'm a nutter. I always thought that by admitting you are wrong about something shows that at least you know you are not right all the time.
Here is the link to some information on why I feel the way I do about Phanuel/ Uriel...

Blue Column... Notice that Moroni is the fifth angel in the D&C and Rev, which fits the fifth angel in the angelic list.

There are scriptural bases for these things. That is as much as I will say. This is too sacred a subject for me to write about in a forum.
But I can say that there are 7 archangels, responsible for certain dispensations. Joseph Smith revealed the information about Gabriel and Michael. Re: 7 Angels - Cherubim Seraphim Intelligences...
I am familiar with the seven trumps and the relationship to the seven dispensations and the individuals who occupy those stations. There are various prophetic sources who talk about these things. However, the original post is once again going down the road of speculation and presenting it as fact without any material sources etc..
Each time this happens the author tells us they have knowledge given them of the HG and we just need to seek it out for ourselves. The HG is telling me this authors posts are incorrect and merely their speculation.

Re: 7 Angels - Cherubim Seraphim Intelligences...
From Elder Cook's talk, "Looking Beyond the Mark"
Quote:
Gospel Extremism
Another sign of spiritual immaturity and sometimes apostasy is when one focuses on certain gospel principles or pursues “gospel hobbies” with excess zeal. Almost any virtue taken to excess can become a vice.
Certain members have wanted to add substantially to various doctrines. An example might be when one advocates additions to the Word of Wisdom that are not authorized by the Brethren and proselytes others to adopt these interpretations. If we turn a health law or any other principle into a form of religious fanaticism, we are looking beyond the mark.
Some who are not authorized want to speak for the Brethren and imply that their message contains the “meat” the Brethren would teach if they were not constrained to teach only the “milk.” Others want to counsel the Brethren and are critical of all teachings that do not comply with their version of what should be taught.
The Lord said regarding important doctrine, “Whosoever declareth more or less than this, the same is not of me” (D&C 10:68) and “That which is more or less than this cometh of evil” (D&C 124:120). We are looking beyond the mark when we elevate any one principle, no matter how worthwhile it may be, to a prominence that lessens our commitment to other equally important principles or when we take a position that is contrary to the teachings of the Brethren.

You said "But I can say that there are 7 archangels, responsible for certain dispensations..."
I read something recently, I think somewhere on this forum, about there being 6 Archangels, and
I wondered why only six, and if it had something to do with the fact that Christ opened one of
the 7 dispensations. I know you were reluctant to add more, so I apologize if I am too nosy, but if
you (or anyone, I guess?) could point me toward someplace I could read more about the Archangels,
in particular about the number? I could find lots of information that was not LDS, I am sure, but would
love it if someone has knowledge of a reliable source. Thanks for your comment, it was already wonderful!

The number seven is an important number to the Lord. So it would make sense that He would have seven archangels.
The reason for the "six" is that Michael sometimes is technically "not counted" due to the other responsibilities that supercede or override the lesser responsibilities of the archangels... which overriding calling is made up of the responsibilties of Adam. Yet, Michael is still one of the seven.
Seven dispensations, which the Lord governs over all of them. The proof is in Revelation 5, where the Lord is the only being able to open all of the seals.
So here is the line of the authority: Heavenly Father -> Savior -> Seven archangels -> 24 elders. (or 24 apostles) -. seventies and so on... Or so that is how it appears in the Book of Revelation. I am not sure about the line between the 7 archangels and the 24 apostles... because somewhere in the mix is the another group of individuals... which it suffices to say that there is another important group in the mix.
Anyway, the Savior opens all the dispensations and the seven archangels are responsible for delivering the commandments and judgments and blessings of the Lord concerning them and the gathering of the Saints.
As for sources, you wouldn't believe it, but the bible itself is full of them.
Here's an example of one of the scriptural accounts that is widely known, in fact since you brought up the Joseph Phanuel thing, I thought this one might be the best one to list:
In Genesis 32, Jacob wrestles with an angel until dawn, so he can get a blessing. (The guy had guts.) Because Jacob had a habit of naming places after the angels or hosts of the Lord that paid him visits, it is believed that he named the place after the angel that he wrestled with, which name was Peniel or Penuel, which Phenuel or Phanuel are other pronounciation of the same. That angel is believed to be one of the seven angels. That angel's name means "like unto the face of god."
I love this part of it: Who is a man that during his life loved to wrestle? But that's just for fun.
Even despite the various references in the scriptures, the names of the majority of the seven angels are not included in the bible, except a few and there is a reason for that.
In fact, a lot of the names that are out in the internet world are probably wrong. And the names are hebrew definitions rather than true names.
I want to express more, but again this is an open forum and I don't feel that talking about something sacred is appropriate here. PM me or email me if you feel inclined.
On a side note, I agree with NGL for the most part, there are a lot of fanatics out there that the Spirit just won't verify because well they just aren't teaching true doctrine.
Yet, I do have to say this... if the person is inspired of the Lord to search the scriptures concerning a subject than the Lord will burn a spiritual fire within them and they will become driven as it were to find everything they can about a subject until the Lord encourages them to move to the next subject.
Line upon line precept upon precept. Certain mysteries of the kingdom come before others.
When the scriptures become opened to a person's eyes in a way that they never were before, the hunger for knowledge increases in such a magnitude that the person will search every scripture concerning the subject and inquire of more sources until the hunger is satisfied.
Then if the person still truly hungers after righteousness, the Spirit will again impress upon them scriptures and sources from which to turn then verify the understanding with dreams and pure intelligence until the Lord is satisfied with the person's learning or the person themselves pulls away either from disbelief or loses interest. If it is the former then the Spirit rejoices and the person is sent on another scriptural exploration of another mystery. If it is the latter, then the Spirit is disappointed and departs.

Oh one more thing. The Book of Enoch, although not cannonized scripture, has some very interesting insights into the archangels. Granted, it should be read with prayer, because the Spirit will verify certain aspects of it and correct others. And it should be read in connection with the Book of Moses in order to understand what is going on.

Ya none of this information has anything to do with the Holy Ghost revealing anything to anyone that would imply scriptural revelation and all this is very very far from that.

Then why is it being written about as a teaser. This tactic comes across as very suspect--I have some special spiritual inside knowledge about why such and such is so--but I can't tell you about most of it because it is too sacred, but here is the result.serenitylala wrote:NoGreaterLove wrote:Here we go with the "I know something you do not, but you need to believe me" thing again.I won't bother telling you how I know who is who because you wouldn't believe me and for some reason everyone and I mean everyone seems to really want Joseph Smith to be one, but he's not.

A teaser trailer? Do you want to know exactly what happened when I was writing that post. You want to here the truth?
This is what happened. The spirit impressed upon me what I could say and stopped me when there were things that I couldn't say. So I left it open, so that if a person really wanted to know they could ask for themselves. Also, I was curious as to why the Lord considered this a sacred subject, because I hadn't anticipated it ever being sacred. To me what is sacred, is what we have made covenants not to tell. But apparently, I was corrected in that belief and thus my post was left looking as it did.
The Spirit knows what is appropriate to express openly and what isn't. Isn't it important to follow the promptings of the Spirit concerning these things, to write only what the Lord desires us to say and leave the rest open for others to inquire about themselves.
Doesn't the Lord prefer that we inquire of Him first? Doesn't He prefer that we each have an individual relationship with Him?
For instance, do you think that the Lord would have preferred that you went on your parent's testimony instead of inquiring and developing your own? Or perhaps, when you were a child and wanted to know the details of what went on inside the temple and your parents told you only that there were ordinances but not what they were and said that was all they could tell: were they saying "teaser trailers"?
Would you have prefered that they told you nothing at all about the temple? Would you preferred that they never took you to the outside of a temple and said, 'this building exists, even though all I can tell you is that inside is the work of the Lord." And when they did do that, were they using a "teaser trailer"?
Apparently this type of speaking is a common thing when discussing the things of the Spirit:
2 Nephi 32:
3 Nephi 26:7 And now I, Nephi, cannot say more; the Spirit stoppeth mine utterance, and I am left to mourn because of the unbelief, and the wickedness, and the ignorance, and the stiffneckedness of men; for they will not search knowledge, nor understand great knowledge, when it is given unto them in plainness, even as plain as word can be.
8 And now, my beloved brethren, I perceive that ye ponder still in your hearts; and it grieveth me that I must speak concerning this thing. For if ye would hearken unto the Spirit which teacheth a man to pray ye would know that ye must pray; for the devil spirit teacheth not a man to pray, but teacheth him that he must not pray.
Anyone that has the Spirit of the Lord can be encouraged by the Lord as to what to say and what not to say. The Lord isn't offering "teaser trailers' but instead is placing mysteries out there so that those that really do want to know can ask about these things.10 And if it so be that they will not believe these things, then shall the greater things be withheld from them, unto their condemnation.
11 Behold, I was about to write them, all which were engraven upon the plates of Nephi, but the Lord forbade it, saying: I will try the faith of my people.
12 Therefore I, Mormon, do write the things which have been commanded me of the Lord. And now I, Mormon, make an end of my sayings, and proceed to write the things which have been commanded me.
So if the thing is wrong, then after heartfelt and true prayer (where the person really wants to know which way the information lies, whether it be of the lord or of some other source, then the Lord answers in kind with a "yes or no" And thus the testimony of the person concerning the information develops: "I can testify that it is true" or "I can testify that it is false."
Thus no one else can "manipulate" us with so-called "teaser trailers".
What I want to know is why can't people pray about things and ask for themselves? Why can't they utilize this process?
If iprayer was good enough to get a yes or no answer from the Lord concerning the Book of Mormon, then shouldn't it be good enough for every doctrine? If some piece of doctrinal information is left open, then we should ask the Lord about it. He approves it. great. He disapproves, then we move on to something else.
Should we decide for others what they can say, what they can think and what they can ask about? No. Our job merely is to get verification from the Lord concerning right and wrong, truth and error.
And just because we think something, doesn't mean that the other person is thinking that way. Are we truly able to determine what is inside someone's heart? Are we able to see what they are experiencing? No. Again, that is why we turn to the Lord and ask of Him.
It is constantly expressed here by some that when someone else writes in a manner that suggests the the readers "go pray about" the subject that they are either teasing or are trying to promote false doctrines which they can't back up by scholarly writings.
But I ask how is suggesting that a person pray, a device of trickery? Moroni 7 gives the answer for that. The devil enticeth a man not to pray. No where in the scriptures does it say that devil suggests that we pray.
And the proof that people have is the testimony of the Spirit. The last things that we should turn to in connection with mysteries of the kingdom are the precepts of scholars. The first thing, should be that we inquire of the Lord.
Also, I am curious as to why anyone's first assumption would be manipulation when someone else writes something that they don't agree with.
What possesses a person to immediately assume manipulation? What stirs one up to avoid asking and just to assume wickedness?
As for your post, I do want to know this: Why a "teaser"? Why would you ever say something like that when you didn't know what happened when I wrote the post?
Why do you assume that everyone is writing teasers? Do you prefer that people go against the counsel of the Lord and write everything they know on an open forum? Do you prefer that they not write at all? That they shouldn't write even a little bit of what they feel?
Please explain to me your reasoning.

This sight has become do indoctrinated by false doctrine lately that I have had to block some of them. I have noticed the one common theme each of them have it they teach us to pay little attention to our prophets. They justify this by trying to confuse people to believe that we should ignore what the prophets have said and just go on with discussions without using scriptural or prophetic backing. Instead they become gods unto themselves and insinuate that those who use those quotes are spiritually lacking. Then they go on to insinuate that if one does not agree with them, they just are not spiritually ready to receive the meat.
In each general conference the apostles and other general authorities quote the scriptures and prophets in their talks. Surely each on of them have the Spirit with them and are capable of receiving revelation. However, for the most part they stick to the prophetic counsel when discussing church doctrine. It is wise that we follow their example when we discuss doctrine, especially when we are talking about deep subjects. If we hold to the Iron Rod, we can not be deceived. The Iron Rod is the Word of God. The Word of God is given through his Prophets and Scriptures. The only time we receive the Word of God as personal revelation is when we receive it for our personal stewardship.
I find it a waste of time speculating paragraph after paragraph without scriptural or prophetic backing. And I do not claim to have received revelation that God wants me to share with the entire world on the internet except that which is contained within the Holy Scriptures and the testimonies of the prophets.
As for most of the doctrine that Amore and AP share, when I read it, the Spirit tells me that it is false doctrine. I have just as much right to denounce someones doctrine in this site as they have to espouse it as truth. I would encourage those who are feeling uneasy when reading things on this sight to trust those feelings and to speak out and testify of the truth. I would especially beware of those who do not use the Holy Scriptures or Prophetic counsel, who lead us on a path away from them. That should be a big red flag!

Have I ever said: "Believe me" and not quoted scripture or quotes from the prophets?
No. I have instead refer to the scriptures and pray about it.
Have I ever said that people are just not ready? No. I have said pray about it.
If a person doesn't read the scriptures or the words of the prophets or pray about things than it is their own fault, they don't need you or PB or anyone else on this site telling them what they should or shouldn't think.
Tell me, whose plan is that? Whose plan says that they should tell us what to think? Who says that he will make sure everyone returns to the Father because he will screen everything everyone does for their own sakes.
The people on this site are not stupid. They are intelligent people whom can think for themselves.
I personally am happy that there are others with differing opinions, and never once have I accused someone of spouting false doctrine because they won't tell me everything they know.
Let people decide for themselves and quit accusing people of being apostate.

I brought up the Mentinah Archives. I'm probably blocked.
I didn't even know you could block certain posters. That's kinda' cool. Then again, you couldn't follow the conversations worth a darn... Thus far I've found that ignoring the uber-long posts is a good way to go. If you can't say it in a couple paragraphs, don't bother. But... I'm thankful I'm not stuck in Sunday School class with them where there's no escape.

I find the purpose of this site is for discussion. If you can't fully elaborate on the topic, it's hard for me to draw conclusions--not to mention the fact that I may not get the same sort of spiritual impression you do--possibly because I'm base, and possibly because you are. All I know is that I've done years of studying, based on scriptures, the prophets, and yes, some of my own impressions that I consider inspired--but I'm willing to discuss them with very few exceptions. I would never give some conclusion as fact and then point to higher spiritual impressions that are unutterable as my reasoning behind the conclusion--especially on a forum where discussion is the whole point! It thus becomes unarguable and not discus-sable. So let's just stick to the cannon and prophets. Everything else should be discussed as speculation or opinion--and then let the spirit fall where it may. To use it to ram down your opinion of truth would go against the very spirit of how truth is revealed in such ways--in the still and quiet of the heart.NoGreaterLove wrote:BJ

Re: 7 Angels - Cherubim Seraphim Intelligences...
I was sopposed to post this here...
I sincerely apologize... Really any of these drawings are not my work and I can see that this stuff isn't for everyone. As for scripture references I have 100s if not thousands in the drawings themselves if anyone were to bother to take a look. I am glad that you have written the idea off because it isn't a popular understanding to have for sure. I will post the drawings with the Most Scripture References you have ever seen (well not really)..

I'm sorry that I don't have the complete knowledge or understanding to go through it from the scriptures... I only understand it in theory. This is why it appears I am just saying this stuff is true.
Please take a moment to just look and notice there are scriptures to support my hypothesis
