Boise Temple renovations?

Post by Geeswell »

Around October they are renovating the temple in Boise, Idaho. This renovation will take 6 months or more, so a temple worker says.

all of this is here say. The only fact is that it will be receiving some work that will take months.

I asked a temple worker about it when she told me, and she said they weren't saying much about it at this point. She said her personal speculation is that the Boise Temple is supposedly the only temple where you have to walk through the dressing rooms to get to the endowment rooms. (this conversation was a couple of weeks ago)

last night I was talking to my mom, and she said she heard wind of them building a well of some sort. She and I both don't claim to know, or really speculate, because if they haven't said, it could really be anything

I jokingly said it was a bomb shelter

anyone else in the Boise area hear about what they are doing?

if they were working on a well system (so they wouldn't use city water) is this a common practice? perhaps another move to be more self sufficient?

i don't really understand the logistics of digging and building wells, so i'm not even sure it makes sense to close the temple for that long to build a well.

I kind of lean to what the temple worker theorized --that it is probably creating a path around the dressing rooms

The remodeling will include:

New site work including a new fountain, landscaping, and irrigation pipes.

The dressing rooms and restrooms near the endowment rooms will be remodeled.

New lighting throughout the Temple, new fire alarm, new audio/visual equipment.

In some areas the lay-in tile will be replaced with a hard lid(Drywall ceiling).

Ceilings in a lot of areas will be raised.

New Air conditioning equipment, etc.

New tile, carpet, paint, etc.

I must disclose that I am not familiar with the layout of the Boise Temple. Most of the changes I have seen seem to be replacement of/and renewal of various areas of the temple and not so much of a structural change. I have a copy of the plans for the remodel. So all information is collected from these plans, and are subject to varying conditions.
