Interesting Phone Calls

Post by kgrigio »

So lately I have been getting a lot of interesting phone calls from automated system asking my opinion on certain political topics. Maybe it is because of the upcoming mid-term elections, but I don't every remember this happening in the past. I received another call this morning asking my opinion on energy policy. During the call I had a weird thought, call it an impression, but the thought was what if these calls are more than to just find out about our opinions, but to "mark" our opinions for future use of rounding up people or labeling people. I may be going off the deep end here, but what would stop a government from using this type of tool to find out about us under the cover of a poll. I have answered these types of polls before, but again, the thought hit me with such force today that I don't think I will be answering them again. Has anyone else been getting these types of calls?

I have gotten calls recently asking my opinion on various issues, but almost always they lead to a promotion of a particular candidate.

The far right wing of the political spectrum holds more interest in the upcoming election then it has in several of the past, where that portion of the vote was considered more or less "locked up". That may explain the calls.

This is why you will continue to receive marketing on such things. Once you cooperate with any marketing or poll, you are on the favorable list. I would suggest no cooperation at all at any time. This will eventually tone the calls of these type down.

Alma 35:3-6
3 And it came to pass that after the more popular part of the Zoramites had consulted together concerning the words which had been preached unto them, they were angry because of the word, for it did destroy their craft; therefore they would not hearken unto the words.
4 And they sent and gathered together throughout all the land all the people, and consulted with them concerning the words which had been spoken.
5 Now their rulers and their priests and their teachers did not let the people know concerning their desires; therefore they found out privily the minds of all the people.
6 And it came to pass that after they had found out the minds of all the people, those who were in favor of the words which had been spoken by Alma and his brethren were cast out of the land; and they were many; and they came over also into the land of Jershon.
They were angry with the people of Ammon because they took them in, and demanded them to cast the believing Zoramites out. They mingled with the Lamanites, and prepared to go to war with the people of Ammon.

Heed your impressions!

I have been getting those calls as well and have hung up on them.

They already know my mind from what I have written in the past.

As I was in the Celestial Room a little while ago, I was impressed to reduce my Internet footprint. I have since shut down my online magazine, removed my email I used the most for well over a decade, got rid of my iPhone, have been actively removing myself from every known online subscription service I participated in and every political group I was involved with. Except for this forum, I have been having my name and accounts removed from other forums as well as having my comments also removed. I've search for my name and online name and have been getting those removed as well.

One of the last actions I made as a result of the "prompting" was to post my Anti-Matrix Manifesto;

Pritchett’s Anti-Matrix Manifesto by Robert-Leigh: Pritchett

In the pre-Matrix world long ago, I once used to plant trees for Weyerhauser. On our tree-planting team was a long-haired freaky-people, drug-addle-brained person, who sincerely believed that mortality was a make-believe world and we were in a dream-state. One day, perhaps we would choose to wake up. I have woken up from a deep, disturbed slumber.

I woke up very recently, really early one morning, realizing I no longer wanted to buy into the multi-media matrix of interactive TV, iPodish ear-jacked, exclude-all, I’m-listening/watching-this-don’t-bother-me world and Internet-at-all-costs, artificial “communications”, virtual reality “promise of unlimited wealth” environment that “we” created over the last 70 or so years.

Maybe the Neo-Luddites http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo-Luddism weren’t wrong. We really can have too much technology at our fingertips. High Tech was intended to do good, but it has been compromised to do evil. I believe in good and evil. I prefer good over evil. I have done my best to not encourage evil.

• I gave up my iPhone and Blackberry. I choose not to be wirelessly tracked and GPSed or electrosmoggedly dosed. I refuse to be wireless. It adversely affects my health.
• I will not be a “couch potato”. I will turn off the TV. I choose not to be programmed and put into a REM state in front of what used to be called the boob tube.
• I am shutting down my websites. The online activities take up way too much of whatever time I have left on earth. Thus, I choose not to do online games, social network, create more YouTube videos, or “affiliate”. We were not born to “browse”. Nor do I intend for the government or corporations to find a problem with what I’ve written and shut it down for me. Watch what will happen when the “kill switch” is activated to shut down the Internet. It won’t be pretty.
• I will eliminate email from my life. Most precious to me are real handwritten letters from those I love. They will withstand the test of time. Emails do not. Think “Ephemeral Information”.
• I choose to exist without the “benefit” of the high-tech computer environment. Remember what life was like Before Computers (BC)? Farming was not such a bad life to live.
• I refused to be media “controlled”. Always, always question about who benefits from statist-controlled disinformation and never accept it blindly. Avoid Orwellian pretzels.
• I refuse to be sucked into the falsehoods and fantasies of The Matrix http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Matrix, The Cell http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cell, eXistenZ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EXistenZ, Dark City http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_City_(1998_film) or Inception http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inception_(film).
• I will not chase down any more rabbit-holes. No political “parties” or participation in partisan food fights. I have always been a free man. I will always be a freeman. I am a Constitutionalist (believing in a Constitutional Republic and that the united States Constitution was established by inspired men) and I desire to hold onto my God-given freedom and liberty.
• I will eat healthy. Nothing is as satisfying as eating what was produced at home. I choose instead to spend more time in the garden, growing fruits and vegetables. I do not intend to continue to stroke the egos of human fruits and vegetables.
• I will “get out” more. I choose to do real-time face-to-face visits with friends and family, visit the sick and the afflicted, give rest to the weary and make a positive difference in the real lives of those around me. There is no substitute for eye-to-eye and hand-to-hand contact.
• I will spend more time with live music and less with entertainment centers. Live music is best. And I mean real music. Not the kind that destroys hearing and numbs the mind.
• I will give a lending ear to my wife and children. There is no time like the present.
• I will maintain and keep an eye single to the glory of God. After all, I do have to answer to Him for my actions on earth. I doubt He is too happy with how we/I have spent our/my time on earth. I will work as if everything depended on me (it does) and pray as if everything depended on God (it does), while there is yet time.

Will you wake up too?

With a bit of modification in regard to the 'voluptuous young women', I will suggest your 'Manifesto' to my husband & adult son for Family Home Evening.

I've been withdrawing from the electronic matrix, too.

1 Nephi 17
12 For the Lord had not hitherto suffered that we should make much fire, as we journeyed in the wilderness; for he said: I will make thy food become sweet, that ye cook it not;
13 And I will also be your light in the wilderness; and I will prepare the way before you, if it so be that ye shall keep my commandments; wherefore, inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments ye shall be led towards the promised land; and ye shall know that it is by me that ye are led.
