Not sure how to start a new thread, but I have been reading all of the dreams/visions of the last days that I can find, also searching for commonalities, etc. I found a very hopeful one at another site, and I am wondering if anyone is familiar with it, or if it seems to be from a good source? Here is an excerpt:
A foreign power had inroaded the nation, which, from every human indication, it appeared would seize the government and supplant it with monarchy. I stood trembling at the aspect, when, lo, a power arose in the west which declared itself in favor of the Constitution in its original form; to this suddenly rising power, every lover of constitutional rights and liberties throughout the nation gave hearty support. The struggle was fiercely contested, but the Stars and Stripes floated in the breeze, and bidding defiance to all opposition, waved proudly over the land.
Among the many banners I saw, was one inscribed thus: "The government based on the Constitution, now and forever"; on another, "Liberty of Conscience, Social, Religious, and Political."
The light of the Gospel which had but dimly shone because of abomination, now burst forth with a lustre that filled the earth. Cities appeared in every direction, one of which, in the center of the continent, was an embodiment of architectural science after the pattern of eternal perfections, whose towers glittered with a radiance emanating from the sparkling of emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and other precious stones set in a canopy of gold, and so elaborately and skillfully arranged as to shed forth a brilliancy which dazzled and enchanted the eye, excited admiration and developed a taste for the beautiful, beyond anything man had ever conceived.

Sometimes shares in the Relief Mine come up for sale. Although this lady is advertising for 10 TIMES the price of the last ad I saw.

My personal opinion is that John Koyle experienced some deception. That's not to say the devil won't give you 90% truth.

The whole world is in commotion. You feel it, and so do others. Is it any wonder then that some people would have dreams or preminitions of the future? I don't understand everything, but I'm smart enough not to dismiss everything that doesn't come in the Ensign.
But, I don't put much stock in stories on the internet, mostly because I don't know the people who wrote them or re-posted them. Personally I wouldn't publish such things. But I would write them down, perhaps in a notebook that I kept by my bedside (Nelson: Ask, Seek, Knock; Nov 2008). I think it is fundamentaly inconsistant with Mormon doctrine to think that the mysteries of God are only available to a few.
The trouble is not with the dreams--Pharoh dreamed, NEbacanazer dreamed, and early Mormon History has examples of people dreaming. But the key is to have the gift to interpret the dreams. See Joseph, Daniel, or Joseph Smith ( Orson Hyde(?) had a dream and had to ask the prophet what it meant. It lead Joseph to send Orson on a mission to dedicate Jerusalem for the return of the Jews.)

The dream you quoted from was printed in "The Contributor" magazine in 1894. This magazine was a forerunner to "The Improvement Era" and later "The New Era" magazine. So yes, it is from a good source, church-leader-approved.PSCahill wrote:Not sure how to start a new thread, but I have been reading all of the dreams/visions of the last days that I can find, also searching for commonalities, etc. I found a very hopeful one at another site, and I am wondering if anyone is familiar with it, or if it seems to be from a good source? There's a lot of interesting prophecy from Bishop Koyle (with The Relief Mine); whether or not it proves to be true remains to be seen. I'm familiar with a lot of them, and am watching with interest, but I don't base my actions off them- except as they encourage me to follow counsel and advice by Church leaders. Right now I'm keeping an eye out for the economy and Kennecott... that will be a good indication of at least some of Koyle's predictions.
For another encouraging vision, have you run across George Washington's yet?
Actually, I guess they all end up being encouraging, after we get through the yucky parts....

Focus on and do these: Isa 58, Acts 2-4, James 1:27, John 14, John 17........
Meanwhile understand that the 'sworded' One is on the side of those under the covering, yeah even transformed by the Blood of His Son:
Revelation 19:
....And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh..........
