I have a question for any of you who have looked into this- what advice do you have for underground water storage? We're building a waterfall in our backyard, and as part of that, we need reserve water storage. This also would conveniently add to our emergency water reserve.
We could buy a plastic septic tank, or a concrete one (unlikely- too expensive), or just dig a big hole, line it with pond liner, and fill it with perforated 5-gallon buckets. No open-pit pond, we have small children.
What can you tell me about the different kinds of plastics, how they hold up over time, or anything else you've learned about water storage?
Thanks.

Underground would keep the water cooler in the summer and warmer (keep from freezing) in the winter. The larger the capacity the larger heat sink you would have available....and the greater amount of water storage!

Thanks, Jason. I checked with that company, and they say their tanks are only for above-ground storage.
Do you know what the difference is?
