But seriously, when the global infrastructure does collapse, as we know from prophetic warnings that it must, we must be as off the grid as possible. To be honest, we need to have somewhat an Amish, or FLDS, mindset towards being separated from the world so that when everything falls apart we don't have to fall apart with it.

dennis, are you talking about the Finger Lakes and/or the Great Lakes? There has been some seismic activity along the St. Lawrence Seaway in the past couple of years.

There is 'speculation' about the Great Lakes possibly 'draining' through the Mississippi Valley as a result of a massive seismic event along the New Madrid Fault. That would cut the US in half quite nicely. Apparently, New Orleans is 500 feet lower than the Great Lakes so once there was a breach all that water would drain south.

As far as which lake or lakes, I have no clue except what it says in the quote. However the Book of Mormon does say the last battles of both the Jaradites and Nephites were in the Hill Cumorah vacinity. Since our nation has so many similarities to both of these groups it does make sense to me that the last destructions will also be in the same place. I also have read the book, Life of Heber C. Kimball by Orson Whitney. In my opinion Heber is one of the nobel and great ones and what he said was right on. In fact it is one of my favorite books of all time. He was known as a Prophet in his day, and was one of the greatest missionaries of all time. Also he was one of the few who was baptized before the Kirkland era and made it all the way to SLC without faltering. No greater..I spent some time on the Cowboys football field back in the days when North Summit Braves dominted those cow pokes. Next time you come to Wanship you can read my well worn out copy of Inspired Prophetic Warnings by Lundwall. It is one I dont lend out. Too many books I loved and didnt get back.

I have a copy of "Inspired Prophetic Warnings" as well, and that is what it says on p. 59. It is a "compilation of Ancient and Modern Prophecies" compiled and published by N. B. Lundwall.

It is a very old booklet. I think it was in some of my father's books that I inherited when he died.

I have heard about this prophecy before, but you did not put quotation marks on what you said. It appears to be a general description of what he said. I would love to have the exact quote of his words for my own collection.
