I want the forum to cater more towards what you might call a "liberty investigator" someone in the process of learning the principles of freedom, waking up to our awful situation, or even just figuring out if there's anything good going on at this forum.
I want that type of person to feel that this forum is a good place to be... and I want other members of this forum to not put people down who aren't at the same level of understanding, or maybe are still 'shaking off' their ignorance (a process I know many of us, myself included, have been through).
It might take some time and transitioning but I hope eventually that's what people experience on the forum.
Also, I'm willing to banish people who can't handle the higher standard (and if you know my nature, that's not an easy thing for me to do, but it's necessary in maintaining a higher standard).

I think that's a wise move. It will keep your forum "cleaner". I don't visit daily, but I'm glad to see the improvement.

You have my support. I don't like contention. It drives the spirit away.

Re: Updated Forum Rules/Standard
Thank you Brian for clarifying the forum rules. Too many times I have witnessed forums of like-minded individuals self-destruct over petty disagreements. While it is fine and good and in most instances healthy to receive criticism, we need to be civil toward one another. In this day it is far too common to find outright hostility and needless belittlement of our fellow citizens. As Latter-Day Saints we MUST hold ourselves to standards such as those you espouse. This standard is part of the reason I still peruse your wonderful forum. Thank you again, for your endeavors.

And the easy way to maintain such a standard is for each of us to self-govern...joelfarm wrote:Thank you Brian for clarifying the forum rules. If that doesn't happen it becomes difficult, and a burden on those who have accepted a role as moderator's on the forum. (after all... you can't force someone to be righteous, but with those who refuse - banishment is a justifiable option.)

Re: Updated Forum Rules/Standard
FYI, I have updated the forum rules... it's sort of a mix of the newer "standard" and the more specifically defined rules that were previously posted, with a few additions and changes.
Here is a link to the official rules. Feel free to discuss here on this thread. Also, the rules are quoted below:
