...new top speed champ "again"....

Wolfsburg/Molsheim, July 4, 2010 - on a beautiful sunny day at 25 degrees the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport achieved a new landspeed world record for production cars, on the proving grounds of the Volkswagen Group at Ehra-Lessien (nearby its headquarters at Wolfsburg). In the presence of the German Technical Inspection Agency and a representative of Guinness Book of Records the Super Sport achieved an average top speed of 431 km/h.

I share this weakness...

I talked to a guy in South Jordan who is building a FFR GTM. Still need to get out there and check it out.

The Discovery Channel did a presentation on the Bugatti Veyron a few weeks ago, it was awesome. The parts I remember is that it costs 1 million 700 thousand dollars, it gets 3 miles a gallon, it has 16 cylinders, it has 1000 horse power and goes 253 mph. I guess that is comparable to 431 Km/h?

I've been following Mark and Dave Smith since shortly after they started the company....a brochure in the spring '96. I've gone from wishing for a Cobra...to a Type 65.....to the GTM....and now the revised GTM (which is cheaper and better). Someday.....

Love to see the one in South Jordan.....

Toured our own Kirkham Motorsports down in Provo with David Kirkham here not too long ago. They do some fantastic work!!! Bit more on the pricey side though. The car they sold to Larry Ellison was $1.5 million. Of course that is the upper limits of the stratosphere and they claim to put a guy in a regular cobra for $50-60k

I've never thought of bird strikes but yea. I've come upon golden eagles eating road kill in my mustang GT and those big lumbering birds strain to fly off under their own weight, I've had to come to a complete stop sometimes.

I met Kirkham a couple years ago at the Utah Freedom Run. He had one of his Alum bodied Cobras. It was beautiful. I had the pleasure of spending that day in an Exige S. Fun car!
