2012 | 1776 | The long walk to LIBERTY!!!

Post by clarkkent14 »

I just had a crazy idea.... on many levels!!! (after watching 5 minutes of this video...). Assuming we make it to the 2012 elections, and that Ron Paul is alive and running for president...

I thought about organizing a really long walk for LIBERTY in either the summer of 11' or the summer of 12'. My idea will have many flaws (Hot Summer, Support vehicles), but help me see it out :)

Start: Liberty, KS
End: The Statue of Liberty
Distance: 1,776 Miles
Route: Rough Map
Saving your soul: Priceless

I am a runner and would be interested in running this- I think it's great idea. I just ran the "Wasatch Back" (Ragnar Relay) www.ragnarrelay.com and think if you ran it "relay style" you may be onto something and it would help with the logistics.

During the Ragnar relay we ran 188 miles in about 30 hours, so if you could do the same on the 1776 relay you could run the course in a little under 2 weeks (much better for folks instead of having to take off a month of work)

I think that with all the Ron Paul supporters out there- this could be a "supported" run the entire way.

I would be interested in talking to you about this.

Yeah I was thinking last night... run, walk, bike, motorcycle, car, van, bus... any way people can or want to do it. I think it could be pretty big.
