I pray for mine enemies like Nephi did.
2 Ne. 4: 33 O Lord, wilt thou encircle me around in the robe of thy righteousness! O Lord, wilt thou make a way for mine escape before mine enemies! Wilt thou make my path straight before me! Wilt thou not place a stumbling block in my way—but that thou wouldst clear my way before me, and

Interesting - I was just thinking about this recently as well. Is this what Christ meant when he said "pray for your enemies"?

I have noted that many times in the scriptures a wicked people are destroyed so that they don't condemn themselves any more than they have.

When we pray for our nation, we are only praying for more time. It is just a matter of time because we cannot avoid what must surely come to pass according to all the holy prophets and the Lord Himself.
Pray to prepare yourselves, your families, and those you care about.

I don't think people pray for the nation with the thought of extending the gadiantons stay. I pray for my country for the safety of good people, that wickedness will cease, and that the ideals the nation "once" stood for, to remain intact. Most people would agree with that type of prayer for a nation if asked to expound upon what they were praying for.
PS. yes as was said please hedge up the way of mine enemies.
