(Doctrine and Covenants 109:29-30.)
29 We ask thee, Holy Father, to confound, and astonish, and to bring to shame and confusion, all those who have spread lying reports abroad, over the world, against thy servant or servants, if they will not repent, when the everlasting gospel shall be proclaimed in their ears;
30 And that all their works may be brought to naught, and be swept away by the hail, and by the judgments which thou wilt send upon them in thine anger, that there may be an end to lyings and slanders against thy people.
(Doctrine and Covenants 29:14-21.)
14 But, behold, I say unto you that before this great day shall come the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall be turned into blood, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and there shall be greater signs in heaven above and in the earth beneath;
15 And there shall be weeping and wailing among the hosts of men;
16 And there shall be a great hailstorm sent forth to destroy the crops of the earth.
17 And it shall come to pass, because of the wickedness of the world, that I will take vengeance upon the wicked, for they will not repent; for the cup of mine indignation is full; for behold, my blood shall not cleanse them if they hear me not.
18 Wherefore, I the Lord God will send forth flies upon the face of the earth, which shall take hold of the inhabitants thereof, and shall eat their flesh, and shall cause maggots to come in upon them;
19 And their tongues shall be stayed that they shall not utter against me; and their flesh shall fall from off their bones, and their eyes from their sockets;
20 And it shall come to pass that the beasts of the forest and the fowls of the air shall devour them up.
21 And the great and abominable church, which is the whore of all the earth, shall be cast down by devouring fire, according as it is spoken by the mouth of Ezekiel the prophet, who spoke of these things, which have not come to pass but surely must, as I live, for abominations shall not reign.
So who is worthy to be hit first of all the nations? Who has rejected the testimony of the prophets first in these last days? Who murdered a prophet of the Lord and drove his people out, raped, burned pillaged? I would ask, who is worthy of these judgments?

It isn't the hail that concerns me, its those flies that leave maggots crawling around in living flesh. That doesn't sound so good. catching 72 pound hail stones gets it over with quickly----

The first couple of summers we lived in our house, we had hail. It was insane. I'd never experienced it before and one time it was quarter to half dollar sized. Can't even imagine dealing with baseball sized hail - what if you'd been out in the car when it hit???

I listened for a trumpet...I couldn't hear it. does that mean im doomed?!

The pool looked like a hot tub that was out of control! i wonder what it would be like if you had scuba gear on and was just sitting on the bottom of the pool watching that...

Ther are no trumpets. Like most everything else in prophetic apocalyptic scripture they are symbolic (ex "locust from the pit" is an army of men NOT insects from the bowels of the earth.

Who is to say what the hail was during the time of the Exodus? Was'nt it hail mingled with fire? Seems to me this could be explaining meteorites hitting the earth.
It doesn't matter though what the hail represented. A talent weight of ice or meteorite would certainly cause alot of damage.

Sorry but I do subscribe to trumps actually sounding. I believe that there will be a literal worldwide sounding that ushers in these events. I could be wrong, but I expect to have something sounding like a trump to be heard prior to each of the seven trump calamities. It doesn't have to be a literal heavenly trumpet, but a heavenly noise nonetheless.

Whistling Screams from volcanic activity can be deafening.
Back on hail, we had such heavy hailstorm activity a few years ago, that all the brand new vehicles in the Pasco, WA (USSA) Autoplex were pretty much completely destroyed. Those car dealers must have really upset someone to have had the fury from heaven dumped on them.

I read a book called "and the moon shall turn to blood". Part way through it stated that two planets in close proximity to each other with the friction of their atmospheres colliding could cause a sound like a trumpet. It was either Larsen or Velikovsky stating it. It's been about 5 years since I last read it, however.
