I'm hoping that this forum is still active as it looks interesting.

I will say that I am an active member of the church, currently the YM President. I will admit that I lean left on the political spectrum. I joined here to learn new things and hear the thoughts of a broad spectrum of subjects.

Welcome. This is a great forum and you will learn a lot. Have an open mind and try not to get too offended as we can be jerks sometimes .

Yep, put on your thick skin. If you lean left, you probably won't find a lot of sympathizers here, but I always love it when someone challenges the libertarian leaning majority here.

Left and right is a false paradigm meant to keep us fighting amongst ourselves. If you support the welfare state, I am sure it is only because you are unaware of the damage it does to the recipients, and the blessings it denies to both the recipients and the "payers". Corporate welfare is a far bigger problem than what most consider welfare. We would have a much better world if everyone worked harder to achieve their potential and focussed less on how little they could do to get by (or how much they can get away with.) I look forward to lots of interesting discussions with you!

Stick around... you'll take a few lumps, but if you will listen and do a little research you'll soon realize the world you think you live in doesn't exactly revolve quite like you had thought you're whole life. It's an important step to break the false Left/Right paradigm.

Its not about leaning Left or Right.....its about leaning Up or Down!!!
