"My" brethren say stay close to the Lord and attend the temple often. We need those hosts of heaven to help us in time of need and they can't if they don't have the priesthood bestowed on them.

Expect miracles.

Oh and 2012 is an election year...

Ahh.. I fear that nothing will come of this trial though.. even if witnesses do show up, who will believe them? What will make them tell the truth? And further more, what is anyone going to do about it, even if something is exposed? :( I suppose it will be interesting nonetheless...

2012 is not only an election year but it is also the year that the earth's poplulation will reach 7 billion. That's interesting (i.e symbolic) number. Could this mean it has filled the measure of its creation?

The earth has been baptized with water, but still needs the baptism by fire (at least) before it will fill the measure of its creation.

The Lord said there is enough and to spare, so I think the world can take care of itself and is not going to collapse from supposedly 7 billion human souls on it. Don't forget the hidden populations (lost tribes).

I'm more concerned about manipulation by evil and conspiring men in the last days.

Well, the earth just might--uh--tip over....

"Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty,
and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside
down,
and scattereth abroad the inhabitants
thereof." Isaiah 24:1

In his best-selling book Earth in Upheaval,
historian Immanuel Velikovsky gave an
account of what might be expected when
the Earth tilts on it's axis:
  • 'Let us assume, as a working hypothesis, that
under the impact of a force or the influence
of an agent - and the Earth does not travel
in an empty universe - the axis of the earth
shifted or tilted. At that moment an earthquake
would make the globe shudder. Air and water
    would continue to move through inertia;
hurricanes would sweep the Earth, and the seas
would rush over continents, carrying gravel and
sand and marine animals, and casting them onto
land. Heat would be developed, rocks would melt,
volcanoes would erupt, lava would flow from
fissures in the ruptured ground and cover vast
areas. Mountains would spring up from the plains
and would climb and travel upon the shoulders of
other mountains, causing faults and rifts. Lakes
would be tilted and emptied, rivers would change
their beds; large land areas and all their inhabitants
would slip under the sea. Forests would burn, and
the hurricanes and wild seas would wrest them
from the ground on which they grew and pile them,
branch and root, in heaps. Seas would turn into
    deserts, their waters rolling away...

...The shifting of the axis would change the climate
in every place, leaving corals in Newfoundland and
elephants in Alaska, fig trees in northern Greenland
and luxuriant forests in Antarctica. In the event of
a rapid shift of the axis, many species and genera of
animals on land and in the sea would be destroyed,
and civilizations, if any, would be reduced to ruins.'
The fossil record seems to indicate it's happened
before. Could it happen again? I think it could. In
2012? Who knows? Good thing God's in charge of
what happens to the earth, huh?

Best Regards,
Sharon in Mississippi
