Now a Grandma of 13 with 2 more in the spring. We're located in the high mountain desert of Utah.
Breed Paints and Quarter horses (I don't want to be walking if there is no fuel and don't like riding a bike)
Also Hall of Fame breeder of Rottweiler dogs (I don't like guns in my house...I'm a hothead and don't want
any temptation to use one) We have a small ranch with our own water, milk cows, chickens, huge garden,
and of course horses....LOTS of horses (47 head) and Rottweilers. Trying to get prepared when the
revolution starts and I believe there will be one especially when our corrupt congressional leaders continue
to take our liberties and spend us into oblivion. Was a Democrat, then a Republican, now I can't claim
either party. Just want the Lord to come so He can clean up this mess. :P

Thanks for the hearty welcome. My Dad was in Special Forces and the Rangers. He was a member of 101st Airborne and 82nd Airborne division so
Ft. Benning, Georgia, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Bad Tolz, Germany, Ft Campbell, Kentucky, Ft Devens, Mass. and eventually ending up as an ROTC instructor
in Stillwater, Oklahoma at OSU where he retired.
Then as if I hadn't had enough military life, I married my high school sweetheart who attended the WOC school and became a chopper pilot. Then it was back
to Ft Wolters, Texas, Ft Rucker, Alabama, and Ft Carson, Colorado. He did two tours in Nam, got wonunded during the 2nd and came home a changed man.
We divorced shortly afterwards.

I can honestly say I don't miss all that time living in the south. I always wanted a view of the Rocky Mountains in my front window and that's where I'll stay till
I die. :!:

Sounds like you have a great place there. I love horses, too... I call them my "Armageddon horses." Only I prefer Arabians.

The only time I ever see eye to eye with a horse is with me on the ground. I have always loved arabians and thoroughbreds, walkers etc... just not to ride. I'd love to breed them though.

I love the look of the Arabian BUT my bum is too wide for their narrow back. It feels like I'm riding a rail. Also don't particularly care for their head carriage. It's high and
always where I'm trying to look. The Quarter horse put their head level with their topline and watch where they're putting their feet so they don't step in a hole. Fits our style of riding much better. Also like their laid back disposition. Arabians are much too high strung and nervous.

But to each his own.....my preference just happens to be Quarter horses or PAINTED quarter horses.

I like quarter horses too. Arabians are beautiful, I have never owned or ridden one. The only non-quarter horse I ever owned or rode was an Appaloosa - I was not impressed, it may have just been the individual horse, but seemed skittish and high strung.
