Book of Mormon Whore vs. LDS Friendships

Post by LDSFreedom »

Have you ever pondered why the Lord chose to use graphic language in describing the perverted ways of the world in the last days using a whore symbolically? Have you noticed that this whore does not make her presence historically in scripture until the last days? Why did the Lord use the Book of Mormon as a springboard to bring this subject to the forefront? Would those that posses the BoM be the group that He wanted to have catch their attention?

10) And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth.
11) And it came to pass that I looked and beheld the whore of all the earth, and she sat upon many waters; and she had dominion over all the earth, among all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people.
12) And it came to pass that I beheld the church of the Lamb of God, and its numbers were few (few means few - not comparatively, etc.), because of the wickedness and abominations of the whore who sat upon many waters; nevertheless, I beheld that the church of the Lamb, who were the saints of God, were also upon all the face of the earth; and their dominions upon the face of the earth were small, because of the wickedness of the great whore whom I saw. (1 Nephi 14)

Is not idolatry the root of other abominations? (think of the second commandment = thou shalt have no other gods before me). How easy is it to abandon the one, true God, Jesus Christ, and put our trust in flesh? How hard is it to rely ALONE upon the merits of Christ?

12) And blessed are the Gentiles, they of whom the prophet has written (those who are helpers of the Lamanites); for behold, if it so be that they shall repent and fight not against Zion (the future resurgence of the church of Christ by the Lamanites), and do not unite themselves to that great and abominable church (spiritual whoredoms), they shall be saved; for the Lord God will fulfill his covenants (He has covenanted with the House of Israel - not the Gentiles) which he has made unto his children; and for this cause the prophet has written these things. (2 Nephi 6)

I find it very interesting that the Lord caused the word UNITE to be used if this way. There are various ways of thinking of this subject, but one catches my attention: UNITED NATIONS! It is almost a perfect fit! I also think of the word "Catholic (including orthodox and all groups that are off-shoots of them)" which translates into universal. I'm not saying these are the only explanation of the above scriptures, but it surely cannot be ignored either.

On the other hand it is interesting to watch secret combinations take hold -- slowly but surely -- among those that have the truth, but we/they prefer the ways of the world instead.

26) And thus in time, yea, even in the space of not many years, they became an exceedingly great band of robbers (one who forcefully takes by threat and/or coercion by physical or doctrinal ways); and they did search out all the secret plans ... (temple endowment); and thus they became robbers.... (Helaman 11)

Another area of concern:
It's almost as if you can hear the worldly powers saying:

7) Or in other words, yield yourselves up unto us, and unite with us and become acquainted with our secret works (especially Masonry - in the temples), and become our brethren that ye may be like unto us-not our slaves, but our brethren and partners of all our substance. (3 Nephi 3)

When did Biblical persecution of prophets, saints and Christians begin, and by whom? I'd like to conclude this post with the words of James from the New Testament:

4) Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Isn't having a friendly relationship with the world's beliefs and ways committing adultery as James declares?

Your thoughts?

There are two types of people that believe the deep state is correct. Those that are in on it and those that are stupid.

It would be interesting to ask 7th graders if freedom is best or if loss of freedom for your own good is best? If they ask who decides which freedoms to infringe, the answer is government or satan. Anyone believing in reductions of freedom is anti-Chrust. Jesus wants us to have total freedom and the wisdom to make correct choices. He knew that we would make mistakes, but he is willing to forgive us instead of removing said freedom. One does not automatically know how to make the correct choice. Earth is trial and error.

That is indeed an almost perfect fit. It is almost as if the Lord was making it easy for us.
