Fauci's COVID origins coverup spook, Andrew Rambaut, has resurfaced to misdirect us about the origins of money pox

Andrew Rambaut, did you really think you would get away with this?
Andrew Rambaut (pronounced Rambo—and like Rambo, he is still in the ring, fighting for the globalists, when he should have taken his toys and slunk away long ago—after being beaten up as one of the stooges who produced the fake Nature Medicine paper on COVID’s origins) has long been associated with a group of virology spooks in Tony Fauci and Jeremy Farrar’s network. The field of evolutionary biology is supposed to tell you where new viruses have come from. But of course, it has been kidnapped to provide specious explanations when the biowarriors need to try and explain their concoctions as having natural origins.
Rambaut was also used to dispute the origins of HIV (as described in my friend Ed Hooper’s book The River) while teamed up with Eddie Holmes, another Fauci flunkie, more than 20 years ago.
Republican members of Congress want to know what Fauci and his henchmen were up to when they concocted a fake natural origin for COVID, as revealed in the Fauci emails:
https://roy.house.gov/media/press-relea ... uci-emails
Rambaut was one of the 5 authors of that paper, and the paper was highly effective for a bit over one year at keeping a lid on COVID’s lab origin. As the members of Congress wrote:

Proud Boys seditious conspiracy trial reveals deep penetration of militia group by FBI and police prior to January 6 coupJacob Crosse
As the almost three-month trial draws to a close for five leaders of the Proud Boys fascists, accused of seditious conspiracy in connection with former President Donald Trump’s failed coup, new evidence has emerged showing the intimate connections between the right-wing militia group and local and federal police prior to the attack.
Last week Roger Roots, the attorney for Proud Boy Dominic Pezzola, filed a motion seeking to compel the government to reveal all of the informants involved “in the events of January 6.”

Robert Kennedy Jr. blames CIA for JFK assassination, fueling controversial claim
By Carl Campanile
May 7, 2023
Democratic White House contender Robert Kennedy Jr. blames the CIA for the Nov. 22, 1963, assassination of his uncle, President John F. Kennedy — proclaiming it “beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Kennedy made the bombshell accusation about a murder that’s spun many conspiracy theories during an interview Sunday with John Catsimatidis on WABC 770 AM’s “Cats Roundtable.”
“There is overwhelming evidence that the CIA was involved in his murder. I think it’s beyond a reasonable doubt at this point,” Kennedy said of JFK’s assassination in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas.
“The evidence is overwhelming that the CIA was involved in the murder, and in the cover-up.”

FBI’s lawless spying on America
In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, President George W. Bush secretly ordered a warrantless wiretapping program that was against the law. The program that was code-named Stellarwind violated the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 by allowing phone calls and electronic communications to or from a targeted foreign person to be scooped up by United Statesgovernment agencies and retained in a database, without a warrant, even if a U.S. person’s communications were incidentally collected.
Congress decided in 2008 to formally legalize the illegal practice by amending the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. What is now known as Section 702 has been reauthorized periodically and next expires on Dec. 31 of this year

Newly Declassified Opinion Reveals Continued Abuse of FISA Section 702 to Spy on BLM Arrestees, Jan. 6 Suspects, Political Donors, Imperiling Reauthorization
FBI Abused Controversial Surveillance Law More Than 278,000 Times
WASHINGTON - Just now, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence released declassified opinion from the FISA Court, which describes previously unknown abuses of the controversial FISA surveillance law known as "Section 702."

In response, Sean Vitka, senior policy counsel at Demand Progress, issued the following statement:
"This newly revealed abuse of Section 702 surveillance is shocking and unmatched since the days of J. Edgar Hoover. For the FBI to misuse Section 702 to spy on people protesting the killing of George Floyd, political donors, and victims of crimes is an unspeakable abuse of trust. Congress must enact comprehensive privacy protections for people in the United States, against all forms of warrantless surveillance, or Section 702 must fall. If the administration wants to see this law survive in any form, it should publicly embrace this reality."
Section 702 will expire at the end of 2023 unless Congress reauthorizes it, which has produced the ongoing, fiery national debate over the law's potential renewal and created a generational opportunity to secure comprehensive privacy protections for Americans.
A bipartisan coalition, including both the powerful House Freedom and Congressional Progressive Caucuses, has made clear that reauthorization of Section 702 is a non-starter unless paired with an "overhaul of privacy protections for Americans," said Representatives Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Warren Davidson (R-OH). These protections must reach beyond Section 702 and into surveillance that occurs completely outside of judicial authorization and Congressional oversight, under "claims of inherent executive authority," or any new privacy protections will effectively be optional. In launching the Fourth Amendment Caucus, long-standing privacy champions Representatives Tom McClintock (R-CA) and Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) similarly centered the need to close the "data broker loophole," through which government agencies at all levels are now purchasing Fourth Amendment-protected information about Americans, including our location, without warrants.

Judge Doughty used 721 footnotes. He must have amazing young clerks. And on page 3 the good Judge included the following quotes to remind us why July 4 and our nation’s principles are so important to uphold:
For if men are to be precluded from offering their sentiments on a matter, which may involve the most serious and alarming consequences, that can invite the consideration of mankind, reason is of no use to us; the freedom of speech may be taken away, and dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep, to the slaughter.

Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the free acts of speech.
Benjamin Franklin, Letters of Silence Dogwood.
Reason and free inquiry are the only effectual agents against error.
Thomas Jefferson.
Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one place to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.

FBI season 6 is not coming to CBS in July 2023
by Cody Schultz
July has begun, but don’t expect to see the premiere of FBI season 6 as the new season of CBS’s hit series won’t be coming this month.
As summer takes center stage, CBS will once again be keeping its fall series on hold for — you guessed it! — fall, including the highly popular FBI franchise. Instead of airing new episodes of its scripted hits, the network will dedicate its primetime slots to its summer lineup, featuring shows like Big Brother

The F.B.I.: A Special Report by David Burnham
The Nation
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is the most powerful and secretive agency in the United States today. Despite the bureau's influence over a broad terrain of American life, independent examinations of the "B," as special agents refer to it, have been rare. (In the sixties The Nation published a special issue on the bureau by Fred Cook, which became The FBI Nobody Knows.) No Congressional committee has mustered the political will and staff to carry out a comprehensive review. With the bureau's political power greater than at any time in its eighty-nine-year history, an examination of the questions of how well it is performing its crime-fighting mission and safeguarding civil liberties is overdue. Beyond the recent series of F.B.I. problems—the tragedy at Waco, the shootout at Ruby Ridge, the Atlanta Olympic Park bombing, the flawed investigations by its scientific lab—are there broader kinds of defects that demand attention? We asked David Burnham, a reporter who has specialized in law-enforcement issues for thirty years, to review the current state of the F.B.I. With research support from The Nation Institute's Investigative Fund, Burnham availed himself of an entirely new kind of information—internal administrative data maintained by the Justice Department, which tracks every instance an investigative agency like the F.B.I. refers a matter for prosecution and the ultimate disposition of these referrals. Data tapes containing this detailed information, from the mid-seventies to fiscal year 1996, were obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), a research organization formed in 1989 by Burnham and Susan Long, a professor at Syracuse University. They then verified and analyzed the data. The F.B.I. did not respond to our request for comment on the findings of this article. The Editors
I. A Bureau Full of Troubles
Despite the ugly blots of Waco and Ruby Ridge and the mess at the crime lab, and despite attacks on it by libertarians on the left and right, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is widely regarded as the world's pre-eminent crime-fighting agency. Because of the impressive investigative skills and dogged persistence of some F.B.I. agents, elements of this relatively shiny reputation are deserved. Nevertheless, our analysis of data that have been sitting unused in federal data banks—supported by interviews and evidence drawn from operating manuals, court decisions and government reports—proves conclusively that the F.B.I. today is a sloppy, unresponsive, badly managed, uncooperative and out-of-touch agency that is aggressively trying to expand its control over the American people.

Skewed Priorities
Judging from the data, and borne out in interviews with present and former law-enforcement people, the F.B.I. prefers busting drug dealers and playing cops and bank robbers to attacking the endemic problem of corporate and white-collar crime. In 1996, Justice Department records show, F.B.I. investigations resulted in 11,855 convictions in federal court—45 for every million persons in the United States. The largest identifiable chunk of the 1996 cases—about a quarter of the total—involved 2,919 people found guilty on a variety of drug charges. The next largest grouping, involving 1,898 persons, concerned fraud and embezzlement situations where banks, savings and loan associations and credit unions were the victims, often through the misuse of credit cards. Old-fashioned bank robberies—with 1,341 convictions—made up the third-largest category of cases. Overall, these numbers tell us that more than half of all F.B.I. convictions involved drug dealers, credit card scams against financial institutions and bank robbers.
By contrast, in 1996 F.B.I. investigations resulted in two convictions for the criminal violation of the nation's antitrust laws, one under the statute concerning health and safety crimes against employees, seventeen under the law traditionally used for the prosecution of brutal cops and prison guards and thirty-five for environmental crimes.
Apparently sensing a growing wave of public concern, the Justice Department and the F.B.I. stepped up investigations of medical fraud. With 148 convictions in 1996, the F.B.I. appears to have delivered more than empty rhetoric. But the problem is now estimated to cost U.S. consumers more than $100 billion a year. And it's not just a pocketbook issue, it's a violent blood sport. Untold numbers of old, ailing and bewildered people needlessly die or suffer serious bodily harm.
What is true for the health care industry also holds for many other kinds of corporate malfeasance: manufacturing companies that allow their workers to suck cancer-causing substances into their lungs, industries that poison the nation's drinking water, pharmaceutical companies that illegally market dangerous or improperly tested new products. Carefully documented studies by authorities like Edwin Sutherland, Marshall Clinard, and Philip Landrigan and Dean Baker show that the financial loss, physical pain and death that result from the work of the nation's army of white-collar criminals considerably exceed that of all the murderers, robbers, burglars and drug dealers regularly featured on the 10 o'clock news.
Yet the F.B.I. continues to give heavy emphasis to drug violations and the protection of the banks—areas that could be mostly left to state and local authorities—and its priorities have seldom been subject to outside audit. Instead, official and unofficial judgments about the F.B.I. by the President, Congress, the press and academia have long been based on the self-serving, undocumented claims of the bureau. Since the glory days of J. Edgar Hoover, F.B.I. directors have limited themselves to shouting about grave threats to the United States— from Communists, from politically active blacks and students, from drug lords, from pornographers and, most recently, from terrorists. As a result, far-reaching policy and budget decisions about the F.B.I. are almost entirely based on information (including the now discredited Uniform Crime Reports) that has been artfully edited by one of the government's most high-powered public relations machines.

Striking Out
Another surprising conclusion from the data is that for many years Justice Department prosecutors all over the country have found much of the bureau's investigative work inadequate. From 1992 to 1996, for example, federal prosecutors disposed, in one way or another, of 226,186 F.B.I. referrals. Only 57,871 of them—one-quarter—resulted in convictions; 67,710 of these referrals —about one-third of all they processed—assistant U.S. attorneys ruled legally insufficient. According to the department's data tapes, the prosecutors said they had rejected 25,599 of the matters because they were supported by "weak or insufficient evidence." Prosecutors declined an additional 28,680 on the grounds of lack of evidence that a federal offense had been committed or that criminal intent was involved. For 10,243 more, there was "minimal federal interest." Finally, 3,188 F.B.I. referrals were disposed of because there was "no known suspect."
Let it be acknowledged that prosecutors have broad discretion in choosing the cases they prosecute or ignore and that sometimes they make political or otherwise dubious decisions. Let it also be said that assistant U. S. attorneys sometimes reject matters for defensible reasons. During the five-year period in question, for example, 19,419 were declined on the grounds that they had been referred to "other authorities" for prosecution; 13,294 because of a lack of prosecutorial or investigative resources; and 3,063 at the request of the Justice Department.
Nevertheless, during the past five years federal prosecutors won convictions in 26 percent of all the F.B.I. investigations they processed. (In 1996 the record was 28 percent.) This scorecard looks even worse when compared with that racked up by other agencies. In that same year, for example, 59 percent of Drug Enforcement Administration matters ended with a conviction, 52 percent of those from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and 41 percent of those from the Internal Revenue Service. This suggests that the F.B.I. is forwarding a substantially higher proportion of questionable cases than the other investigative units. For every conviction from 1992 to 1996, the F.B.I. had slightly more than one matter declined on the basis of insufficient evidence, no proof of criminal intent, etc. This compared with about two convictions for every "weak evidence declination" for the I.R.S., three for the B.A.T.F., six for the D.E.A. and seventeen for the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
Part of the reason the bureau does so poorly in comparison with other agencies could be that it sends federal prosecutors more difficult or politically unpopular cases than the other agencies. While drug dealers are "bad people" doing bad things, many white-collar criminals are "good people" doing bad things. Most of the D.E.A.'s clients have a considerably lower social position than those of the F.B.I.'s.

As Biden considers reelection bid, who are the oldest – and youngest – current world leaders?
BY LAURA SILVER
Joe Biden is the oldest American president, having entered office at age 78, as well as the only U.S. president to turn 80 while in office. As Biden considers a reelection bid in 2024, he is the ninth oldest national leader in the world, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis.
Former President Donald Trump, who is running for the White House again next year, is younger than Biden. But at 76, Trump would be among the 25 oldest world leaders when compared with those currently in power, according to the analysis, which looks at sitting heads of government in 187 member states of the United Nations.
Below are five key facts about the ages of national leaders.

* Tamerlan, 26, died during a shootout on the streets of Boston after killing a cop

“A policeman’s first obligation is to be responsible to the needs of the community he serves…The problem is that the atmosphere does not yet exist in which an honest police officer can act without fear of ridicule or reprisal from fellow officers. We create an atmosphere in which the honest officer fears the dishonest officer, and not the other way around.”

A Special Agent: Gay and Inside the FBI
Special Agent Buttino grew up in upstate New York, graduated from Colgate University and joined the FBI in 1968. After 20 years of service, an anonymous letter to his parents and the FBI revealed that he was gay. Buttino, who lives in San Diego, was fired. In this cautious, sensitive memoir, Buttino, assisted by his filmmaker brother, discusses his homosexuality, working relationships with his enforcement colleagues, details of his case work and how he found the strength and strategy to pursue a class action suit against the FBI for anti-gay discrimination. The case is still unsettled. Buttino's story, partially reported on 60 Minutes , is a courageous and movingly told account of a man seeking justice and fairness against insidious bureaucracy. The book is also a compelling argument against governmental bias.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propagand ... 0interests.
The propaganda model is a conceptual model in political economy advanced by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky to explain how propaganda and systemic biases function in corporate mass media. The model seeks to explain how populations are manipulated and how consent for economic, social, and political policies, both foreign and domestic, is "manufactured" in the public mind due to this propaganda. The theory posits that the way in which corporate media is structured (e.g. through advertising, concentration of media ownership or government sourcing) creates an inherent conflict of interest and therefore acts as propaganda for anti-democratic elements.
Herman and Chomsky's 5 filters of Propaganda Model
First presented in their 1988 book Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media, the propaganda model views corporate media as businesses interested in the sale of a product—readers and audiences—to other businesses (advertisers) rather than the pursuit of quality journalism in service of the public. Describing the media's "societal purpose", Chomsky writes, "... the study of institutions and how they function must be scrupulously ignored, apart from fringe elements or a relatively obscure scholarly literature".[1] The theory postulates five general classes of "filters" that determine the type of news that is presented in news media. These five classes are: ownership of the medium, the medium's funding sources, sourcing, flak, and anti-communism or "fear ideology".
The first three are generally regarded by the authors as being the most important. In versions published after the 9/11 attacks on the United States in 2001, Chomsky and Herman updated the fifth prong to instead refer to the "War on Terror" and "counter-terrorism", which they state operates in much the same manner.
Although the model was based mainly on the media of the United States, Chomsky and Herman believe the theory is equally applicable to any country that shares the basic economic structure and organizing principles that the model postulates as the cause of media biases.[2] Their assessment has been supported by a number of scholars and the propaganda role of the media has since been empirically assessed in Western Europe and Latin America.[3]

JUNE 06, 2024 Judicial Watch: Records Show FBI Provided Democrats with Information on Whistleblowers Who Testified at May 2023 Weaponi
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today it received 54 pages of records from the Department of Justice in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit which show the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Office of Congressional Affairs (OCA) provided a Democrat staffer with information on FBI whistleblowers who detailed the bureau’s targeting of political opponents and retaliation for their testifying at a May 18, 2023 hearing of the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.
A May 23, 2023, email from Damon Marx, senior counsel in the office of New York Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman, shows that the FBI provided documents apparently pertaining to the whistleblowers that were “very helpful” to Goldman

State Court Says There’s A Reasonable Expectation Of Privacy In Conversations With Non-Cops In Interrogation Rooms
from the caveats-apply dept
Mon, Jun 3rd 2024 03:09pm - Tim Cushing
Kind of an odd bit of Fourth Amendment jurisprudence here, given all the factors. (h/t FourthAmendment.com)
Obviously, some conversations have an expectation of privacy, even when they’re held in police interrogation rooms. Those would be ones between the suspect and their legal representation. But that’s not really a Fourth Amendment issue as it is about privileged communications. The government isn’t allowed to eavesdrop on suspects as they work on a legal defense and/or make statements to their lawyer.
Then there’s the assumption that pretty much everything a cop would like to listen to is recorded, starting with anything said in interrogation rooms (minus attorney-client

ACLU Asks 9th Circuit Not To Treat Abandoned Phones Like Any Other Abandoned Property
from the not-exactly-a-backpack dept
Wed, Jun 5th 2024 11:57am - Tim Cushing
This is an interesting case with some very serious implications.
For the most part, anything discarded by a suspect fleeing from law enforcement officers can be searched or seized without a warrant. For years, this wasn’t necessarily a problem. The stuff discarded ranged from bags containing “substances” to wallets to the occasional backpack. The intrusion was limited and, in most cases, the evidentiary value (drug baggies, recently fired guns, etc.) was self-evident.
But in this case — one in which the ACLU has filed an amicus brief — the expectation of privacy is a bit more important. Previously, the Supreme Court rejected plenty of government arguments when it ruled that phones seized during arrests required a warrant to be searched. One of the many arguments rejected was this: that searching a phone was like searching a suspect’s pockets or the trunk

Rep. Jerry Nadler’s Shocking Misrepresentation Of Copyright Law
from the the-law-literally-says-the-opposite dept
Wed, Jun 5th 2024 09:28am - Mike Masnick
It’s a running joke here at Techdirt that many elected officials in charge of copyright policy seem wholly ignorant of the subject. But sometimes, it’s still shocking when people who should definitely know better brazenly parade their cluelessness.
Enter Jerry Nadler, the highest-ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, and a man who has been knee-deep in copyright policy for many years. His recent comments on intellectual property weren’t just ignorant, they were downright pathetic.
This one is from a month ago, but it’s been gnawing away at me for a few weeks. I figured it was still worth calling out. Last month, the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on “Intellectual Property,” and ranking member (i.e., top Democrat) Jerry Nadler’s opening remarks were so far off-base and factually lacking that it deserves to be discussed.
Nadler has long been a reliable voice for copyright maximalism, and Hollywood has rewarded him accordingly. But, really, some of these comments were just beyond the pale:

It’s The 21st Century And County Sheriffs Are Still A Law Unto Themselves
from the just-daring-the-public-to-stop-them dept
Tue, Jun 4th 2024 08:22pm - Tim Cushing
The Wild West we all imagine contains two forms of law: the brave people who’ve decided to be sheriffs. And the vigilantes who perform frontier justice when not cashing in bounties while ignoring the enshrined civil rights (the Constitution came out ahead of the Wild West, non-American folks) of the people they beat, tortured, threatened, and (if my movie recollections are accurate) tied to the back of their horses and drug to the nearest town.
A couple hundred years later and nothing’s changed but the entities performing the majority of rights violations. Bounty hunters still exist but rarely make headlines. Sheriffs, however, are still treated as kings among men, capable of doing all sorts of evil while rarely being subjected to even the very low bar of accountability we apply to regular cops.
In most locales, sheriffs are elected. That means they can’t be fired, only voted

DC Court Smacks Feds For Going Judge Shopping After Their Warrant Request Was Denied

Well… this is a fun one. The FBI requested a warrant, got it shot down, and thought it would just try to bypass the proper judicial process by pitching the same warrant to another judge all the way across the country. (h/t FourthAmendment.com)
This saga/debacle begins in Washington D.C. The FBI is building a case against yet another person who participated in the January 6th insurrection attempt. The FBI’s suspect is a Washington D.C. resident who, as of March of this year, was staying with her sister in Irvine, California.
Despite this being three years after the fact, the FBI swore (in its California-based warrant) that it had reason to believe any electronics possessed by the suspect would likely contain evidence

Here’s yet more unsurprising news about Israeli malware developer NSO Group and its preferred customers. More phones infected by NSO’s flagship Pegasus malware have been discovered by Citizen Lab researchers. And yet again those targeted are journalists, critics, dissidents, and opposition leaders.
The latest investigation identifies seven additional Russian and Belarusian-speaking members of civil society and journalists living outside of Belarus and Russia who were targeted and/or infected with Pegasus spyware. Many of the targets publicly criticized the Russian government, including Russia’s invasion of Ukr

I don’t know why I’m drawn to doomed litigation but there’s no denying this impulse.
I know what the plaintiff wants to achieve. That much is made clear by Justin Rodrich’s reporting on the lawsuit for the Daily Beast. But I don’t know how he (or any other pronoun! — it’s filed as “Doe”) expects this to stop a rogue state from trying to kill them, much less put $5 million in his pockets.
Nonetheless, here we are:

Missouri Supreme Court backs August election on Kansas City police funding
In an order Tuesday, the court modified an earlier ruling with November vote to ‘accommodate the governor’s apparent desire’ for a vote on the same day as the primary election
BY: RUDI KELLER - JUNE 4, 2024
The ballot measure, which will be Amendment 4, grew out of a conservative reaction to the “defund the police” rhetoric from Black Lives Matter protests after the 2020 murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police. It would allow state lawmakers to pass a law mandating that Kansas City spend at least 25% of its general revenue budget on its police department.
