Theories about reincarnation

Post by Magus »

Everyone is always claiming to be the reincarnation of some famous person or someone particularly cool or interesting. It's never a series of boring people. And it's really kind of suspicious.

So, a theory about reincarnation:

It's not literal.

But I do think people have real experiences that make them feel like it's literal.

Maybe it might have something to do with the Transcendentalist idea of an Oversoul.

The whole point of the Gospel is to become "One" with God. This "oneness" is the essence of what Zion is and the essence of what exaltation and eternal life are.

To become one with God, as Jesus is one with God (referring to God as our Eternal Parents, together, male and female...or take it even further and have it be the Gods, or the Elohim, who are also all "one.")....

Perhaps inasmuch as we were all "one," yet have become "separate," we are still attached to an Oversoul or universal consciousness, and through that, can perhaps tune in and/or relate or feel attraction to a same or similar vibration as someone in history. Someone real who existed.

Maybe, perhaps, we can tune in and psychically/spiritually even tap into their memories, or what we perceive would have been their memories. So yes, this tuning in could be either actual memories or our own interpretation of the essence of their memories/experiences.

And perhaps this is why people will go and say, "I'm the reincarnation of George Washington" or some king or Egyptian pharaoh, or famous or otherwise interesting concept of a person. A knight or a soldier in the civil war, a monk, a writer, etc.

They aren't literally a reincarnation - they've just tuned into their vibration, because there is a universal consciousness that we all have access to because we all come from the same source and it is all a part of us. And in a sense, we are all the same, yet separate. Returning to God being becoming "one" again.

Something like that?

In the series "Red Dwarf" one of the characters finds out he is a reincarnation of one of Alexander the Great's eunuchs.

The eunuch life doesn't sound so bad. You never have to worry about taking a shot to the balls, plus they never get in the way, and you probably will never have a sex addiction. That's three wins right there.

I’ve often wondered about deja-vu moments.

Is this living the same life again and being in the same moment with a chance to make a difference choice?

Or perhaps it is the “oneness” of God that we tap into, the “all things are present” essence of Father?

I often wondered about my deja-vu moments; always trying to grasp more of the glimpse of "something" only to have it slip away. That plus odd memories of places that I have never been; hillsides, caves, cliffs, lakes... I feel that I could retrace my steps and know my way around terrain in foreign lands... yet I have never left the US.

Is it reincarnation, tapping into the memories of people who have long passed, or a form of dementia. Sometimes the flashbacks make me think I am nuts because my "rational mind" cannot comprehend the possibilities, which have been ingrained by society, as false.

I've heard two good reasons for deja-vu. The most obvious is with people when we recognize someone of significance we knew before, but the other is more fascinating. It is said by those in this field that we set up "markers" before we come down when we are planning our lives. A marker is a certain memory cue when something happens, like when I met my second wife online. For some unknown reason I was drawn to her picture, like there was an actual pull there. These markers help at forks in the road to guide us in the right direction at a that critical juncture.

Of course, reincarnation answers it too, obviously.

What I've heard is that we have an infinite higher self, and that each incarnation is another role or human experience of the incarnation. So, it's not really reincarnation, since each of us is just one aspect of the higher self, it's more like multiple incarnations.

I have no idea if that's true, but even if it is I still just want to do the best I can right now, whatever that means. I'm still trying to figure that out.

Is Reincarnation just another way to describe multiple mortalities?

I do think that we are on a treadmill of life until we can get off and “go no more out!”

And when we can obtain a higher level we can go into “the rest of the Lord.” We finally get to rest from the on going life cycle.

Then we become one with God.

I've had déja vu about a place which was built in my lifetime but which I had never been to. Either my "past" life was running concurrently or it clicked with something else.

I believe it is also called the Oversoul, but yeah, higher self. Sounds quite similar to broadcasting into the Matrix actually, except when you die you can simple plug back in.

Shawn,

I refer to them as "triggers". For me, obviously I have implanted many of them out there, as many keep popping up. They assist in re-assermbling the puzzle.

separately--
in another case, a person who has multiple personalities or being "schitzo", is usually due to the flooding of the past memories (many mansions) dropping in like a bomb. It is like trying to infuse high power lines into the home without the transformer reducing the power level to functional levels intended for those vehicles. As you know, an influx of high voltage directly into the home vehicle would be overwhelmed & simply burst.

Momma J,

Imagine Sherrie Laird, as she was having nightmares about the Kennedy boys, as she was Marilyn Monroe. But a medical doctor who turned to deep hypnosis, as it cured people much faster than standard medical or psychiatric methods, chose the path of deep hypnosis (And butted heads in the orthodox medical community) to which he could not submit to their outdated & ineffective applications, as to his conscious. He was in it to assist people, not draw a consistant paycheck from clients. He managed to help her & not only that, extract data proving she had been Marilyn Monroe (Norma Jean). And to settle once and for all, was it suicide, or murder, as to Marilyn's death.

In the short 30 minute video-- "Reincarnation: Coming Back", you find a lot of others believe in reincarnation. But at the end, they put two ladies from Australia under deep hypnosis. It was decided to research their memories. Posting it separate, but you really need it to alleviate your fears. I had 4 pages of written notes, transferred by typing them up & storing on computer. I shared them in the mid 2000s on the CoC-RLDS board back then.

RCB0001

"Reincarnation: Coming Back" video

Here goes my outline of the video I spoke of ...

(RCB outline)- Notes taken 12-13-09 Sunday AM
video listed 3 ways---
"Reincarnation: Coming Back"
"Coming Back: Reincarnation"
"Coming Back: Reincarnation in America"

I got my VHS copy on 2-7-1991 from Time-Life Video Approx. 30 minutes by ITV Productions
UPC# 8255-06065 Simitar VHS #6065 1988 (found while researching the video)
I have tried to spell the names as accurate as possible.

NOTES:===================
p.1 of 4-
starts with scenes (clips) from a few that touch on reincarnation-
"Cheers" TV show/ "Patton" movie/ "Audrey Rose" movie
song- "Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder (and shows the actual words)
Narrator says, You see & hear & read about it everywhere.
Some places such as universities hold classes concerning the subject.
3 people tell a little from their angle-
Dennis Weaver/ Marilu Henner/ Shirley MacLaine
Narrator says, We are going to review different angles.
1981 Gallup Poll on Americans figures & comments listed in the book 'Adventures in Immortality': 23% believe in Reincarnation/ 68% believe in Life after Death/ 15% believe in NDEs (Near-Death-Experiences)/ 33% had some sort of OBE (Out of Body Experience )
OBEs described by 3 ordinary people
Narrator explains, Soul separates from body, but still orthodox religions reject reincarnation. But now many scholars can reconcile it.
Geddes MacGregor Prof. Emeritus of Religion at USC (in California) shares (bk.- 'Reincarnation in Christianity')
Kabbalist Rabbi Gershom Schusterman shares the Jewish Kabbalistic perspective
Hinduism in India- 90% of the population believe in reincarnation
Ramananda Raya Das tells of Karma & desires (bk.- 'Bhagavad Gita- As It Is')
Some who believe are noted: Pythagoras/ Socrates/ Origen/ St. Jerome
At the 6th century Council, the Church banned the doctrine.
It made a major reemergence in medieval times. A few people are listed here but I will list them at the end.

p.2 of 4-
Robert Ellwood- Professor of School of Religious Studies at USC (California)
Bk.- 'Religions & Spiritual Groups in Modern America'
tells us that reincarnation gained popularity in the late 1800s
several main proponents were Emerson, Thoreau, Blavatsky (Theosophy)
At one large gathering, regular people share their brief view of the subject.
The question is asked, Should we teach this in high schools?
Several students agree it should be shared in a general sense.
clip from "2 on the Town" of Regression Hypnosis session
Producer of "Audrey Rose" explains how his son (age 6) just suddenly started playing ragtime tunes on their piano with precision. And this is the only plausible explanation he & his wife could explain their "prodigy" son.
+++++>>>
Scientist, Psychologist & Professor Peter Ramster of the University of Sydney in Australia was at first a skeptic, but decided to conduct experiments on hypnosis concerning. He compiled it all in his 1983 documentary video titled "The Reincarnation Experiments". He presented it as unprejudiced & scientific.
{In this video [RCB], only 2 cases are brought out to us, but perhaps there were more on "TRE".)

1) Gwen McDonald, an Australian housewife, who never left her area in this life. She claimed to have been Mary Duncan in the past (but they called her by a nickname- "Rose"). She claims to have lived near Somerset, England. She gave names & details of surroundings. After an initial check, the town names were not found, but as they searched older maps, then it was apparent the names she gave were on the maps of the 1800s, but some had been altered or changed since then. And older records in that area of England revealed the names she had pronounced. A planned trip to follow-up, included taking her, plus bringing an independent medieval English professor to assist. The surroundings she described were found exactly as she had given under hypnosis. In fact, after they arrived, she was off heading to a tired waterfall & then to the old homestead nearby (back in that life).

2) Cynthia Henderson also was a housewife in Australia & had not left the area. It seems she was an 18th century French woman named Emily DeCheville. She began speaking a foreign tongue so it was finally found that she was speaking colloquial French of the Normandy area back then (by someone they brought in who could translate & speak it).

p.3 of 4-
After preliminary research proved to be correct of some of the area she spoke of, a trip was planned. Ramster not only brought Cynthia to France. She gave accurate directions to one place as they were driving. Ramster enlisted Anton Lebrahann an independent observer to aid in the investigation. Her descriptions were confirmed as being extraordinarily accurate. Anton stated 5 items in French.
A) It is a fascinating & intriguing experiment.
B) It has reached the limit of credibility.
C) It's absolutely different.
D) I can't understand it.
E) There is something spiritual at the heart of it.

Edgar Cayce used regression (hypnosis) for medical help for others, and reincarnation finally slipped in to the information given.
One group (Association of Past Life Therapies) is brought out. Then they show many books on reincarnation.
Ian Stevenson did extensive childhood research- in his his scholarly work & book titled '20 Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation'.
Hazel Denning, the current Executive Director (at time of this video being made) of Association for Past Life Research & Therapy, shares a little.
The soul can't be measured but activates each body one to another (in succession).

p.4 of 4-
Discussion & video ends with a long list of people who believe (or believed in their lifetime). So you may recognize.
Sholem Asch, Balzac, Annie Besant, A.C. Bhaktivedanta, William Blake, H.P. Blavatsky, Napolean Bonaparte, Robert Browning, William Butler, Edgar Cayce, Samuel Coleridge, Lee Currerri, Salvadore Dali, Dante, Charles Dickens, Thomas Edison, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Glenn Ford, Henry Ford, Anne Francis, Benjamin Franklin, Gandhi, Gaugurin (?), David Lloyd George, J.W. von Goethe, Frederick the Great, St. Gregory, George Harrison, Marilu Henner, Harry Houdini, Victor Hugo, St. Jerome, Carl Jung, Immanuel Kant, Count Keyserling, Audrey Landers, Baron Leibniz, Annie Lennox, Jack London, Loretta Lynn, Paul McCartney, Shirley MacLaine, Gustav Mahler, John Masefield, Hagley Mills, Willie Nelson, George Patton, Plato, Thomas Paine, Pythagoras, George Sand, Arther Schopenhauer, Glenn Scarprelli, Jean Sibelius, Socrates, Sylvester Stallone, Rudolf Steiner, Sting, Susan Strasberg, Henry David thoreau, Leo Tolstoy, Lao Tzu, Voltaire, Richard Wagner, Bruno Walter, Dennis Weaver, Walt Whitman, Cindy Williams, Wiliam Wordsworth, Stevie Wonder ... just to name a few.

Blessings!

Re: Theories about reincarnation

Post by Lynn »

I've shared this before, but it bears repeating, as the timing of many having the memories coming forth,, is due to current era of what is about to come about, referred to as the "raising of the dead" which originally came from the Egyptian term "raising of the djed" (djed being the pillars of consciousness).

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

4 verse part on reincarnation from Syriac Apoc. of Baruch:

from the Apocryphal Old Testament 1984 edited by H.F.D. Sparks Oxford Press
p.869-
Syriac Apocalypse of Baruch 50:1-4

Baruch was scribe to Jeremiah, as well as a prophet. This was around the era of 585 BC, just before the destruction of Jerusalem.

1) "And HE answered and said to me, Listen, Baruch, to what I say, and keep a record in your mind of everything you learn.

2) For the Earth will certainly restore the dead it now receives so as to preserve them: it will make no change in their form, but as it has received them, so it will restore them, and as I delivered them to it, so also will it raise them.

3) For those who are then alive must be shown that the dead have come to life again, and that those who had departed have returned.

4) And when they have recognized those they know now, then the judgement will begin, and what you have been told already will come to pass."

+++++++++++++++++

1st verse- In solemn thought & meditation, Baruch has asked the ONE to explain how something is to occur. And the fact that he is also instructed to "keep a record" which means to retain this memory in a future life, as well as record it, so that it will assist in understanding.

2nd verse- There are certain scriptures that seem to suggest that bones will literally come out of the earth to reform their original physical body. However, what the reference is, simply means that we (in our early body come forth from the dust or earth, then return to the same in death of the physical body). The portion that says it will make no change in their form, refers to several characteristics that resurface when we reincarnate. First is that the facial features remain the same, in a sense, the sub structure of the face or such, remains the same. The body can be altered, such as large, small, and so on. Another is in the voice structure. Our sound waves are identical (if we could compare from the past life to the present life). This has already been proven. Certain traits & characteristics bleed through from the past lives into future lives.

3rd verse- This further explains that some will need to instruct others, in order so they might understand how this process of restoration is being worked out.

4th verse- Once quite a few have realized how this process is coming about, then what has been foretold, will come to pass. In other words, the prophecies that spoke of this time will be fulfilled.

Another possibility.

Parallel universes, with parallel versions of you that you are connected to - and you remembering those parallel lives.

Crazy I know lol.

Parallel universes are the reason I lost interest in the Marvel movies. My brain rejects the idea. That being said, it was me who suggested the "what if" scenario like being in the Matrix and "broadcasting your signal" into two different versions of yourself, so I guess anything is possible.

Another crazy thought: what if our pre-earth life presented itself with the option of many different learning tutorials. What if you could spend a day as a duck simply to experience flight? Just hop into the simulator and load whatever program you want.
