Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
My wife and kids were out of town one evening and I prayed for almost an hour and a half on my knees. That was likely the most fervent prayer I have even done. As a consequence, I literally felt a being present with me. I actually fully expected to see someone if I opened my eyes.
However, after having the experience I feel that my day-to-day life need to raise to that same level. I need to be like Christ in word and deed, not just in prayer. There is no point in having irregular special experiences if my day-to-day life is not special. If my day-to-day life is special, then I don't need irregular special experiences as much.
I am not discounting the need for "mighty prayer". However, I believe there is a time and place for everything.
My "red herring", in your mind, is to indicate that your prayers don't mean anything unless you're a fundamentally changed person. In Luke 18, according to Christ, who was the more justified person between the Pharisee and the publican? The Pharisee had mighty prayers with righteous actions while the publican changed his behavior personally.

Now that is a thoughtful reply. Thank you, Telavian. You see that real intent requires more thought than a reaction. I absolutely believe that you had a special experience. I also believe you can have more even if your day-to-day life is special. This is a continual transcending of one's self. I agree that there is a time and place for everything. In Luke 18, with regard to your question, the publican was justified. Of course we should not pray like vain Pharisees. I hope you did not get that from my video because I cited Nephi, the brother of Jared, Enoch, Moses, and Joseph Smith, and their prayers which are very unlike the Pharisee in that parable.Telavian wrote: ↑September 13th, 2024, 7:08 pm My wife and kids were out of town one evening and I prayed for almost an hour and a half on my knees. Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
Well, judging by the resistance I occasionally receive and the lack of most people willing to have conversations with me, I want to issue a challenge to those of you who watched my video (I get a ton of views on this forum, but almost no comments whatsoever), but choose to move on:
Be like Enos or the brother of Jared. Or as our Savior declared in D&C 29 to six elders, but also concerning everyone:
1 Listen to the voice of Jesus Christ, your Redeemer, the Great I Am, whose arm of mercy hath atoned for your sins;
2 Who will gather his people even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, even as many as will hearken to my voice and humble themselves before me, and call upon me in mighty prayer.
Spend no less than twenty minutes in mighty prayer. I believe that waking up extra early to spend this quiet time with the Lord is best, but it's up to you. If you are one of the very few who does this already in your life, my challenge to you is to spend one hour in mighty prayer. I've shown you in my video how to break your communion down into four periods of time. So you can spend fifteen minutes with each segment of prayer for one hour. Do this for thirty days and watch how your life changes and how your relationship with our Savior deepens.
No need to reply if you don't wish.

Re: Latter-day Lamanite Youtube Channel
I wouldn't take it personally. I find that people generally only want to talk about a handful of mostly irrelevant subjects.marc wrote: ↑September 16th, 2024, 7:58 am Well, judging by the resistance I occasionally receive and the lack of most people willing to have conversations with me, I want to issue a challenge to those of you who watched my video (I get a ton of views on this forum, but almost no comments whatsoever), but choose to move on:
When you do engage in a discussion, then they mostly revert to easily disproven talking points with very little understanding or depth.
It is hard for something to be so meaningful to you and so seemingly meaningless to everyone else. I completely understand.

One of your best videos. Thanks for your efforts and like I posted on your video, there is a record kept on both sides of the veil. Do not become discouraged by a lack of "Likes", I can only imagine the innumerable likes you get on the other side of the veil, and they are of so much more worth than being popular here. You are inspiring me to start producing videos again.

Thank you, marc, for hearing the voice of the Lord and sharing words of warning.
