Examples of scrappy Koran translations. On one of them there is a transliteration of the Arabic, although there is some argument about the vowels. That's not a bad idea, but you have to decide the number of layers. Sometimes less is more and space on a page is as important as content. I find this hard to read because even though it is trying to explain the nuances of the Arabic, it disrupts the flow of larger sections of text. Good for specific study but not for the whole work necessarily.

You’ll think me dumb and maybe “stock”,
But here’s the one I read and liked:

Your feedback is well-taken.
One problem is it’s in-line.
The brackets are distracting.

Better to split the levels
Physical segregation
Levels? Here’s what I’m meaning.

Greek

Literal

King James

Children/moderns (is there a difference? ha)

Just read the one you’re reading
The rest sit nicely waiting
whenever you have questions
Like Arabic on right-hand.

The Arabic and English are well positioned relative to each other, and the explanations are kept out of the main texts. (Some of the traditional senses and explanations may be inaccurate if the work of Christoph Luxenberg is to be believed.)

(Felice Campi, zogroning some emotion.
The one before: Jouvenet, Jesus exulting over some super great-looking fish.
And before that: Emile Nolde (in the only good work he ever made, that I’ve seen) and a little child might lead these dead shadows into something better (“grandpa, grandpa, just come listen to him for a minute, you’ll see!))

Gerard Hoet: expressive and dynamic Dutch painter and engraver. Just look at those faces! Those beautiful folds of muscle and robe.

Tissot, as an older man, came aflame with passion for Christ. He was an accomplished (though possibly colorblind?) painter. So, he undertook a huge project: he went to Palestine and there stayed for ten years, devoting himself to painting a cycle of about 350 gauches documenting the mortal life of his Lord.
