Ding ding ding! You got it!

To elaborate:

I want to give the person an immersive experience, wherein they are walking alongside Jesus as He goes about His life.

The harmonization is not merely by event-chunk, as is typical, but line by line, making it easy to read all the gospels simultaneously.

Virtually every page has a mini-map, showing what’s going on and where.

Every single page of scripture text has a facing page of illustration. You’ve heard of illustrated Bibles, well this takes it to the next level. You could think of it as a *highly* illustrated Bible.

Speaking of that… this is only Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John that I’ve done (tiny bit of Acts). However, as I said earlier in the thread, people don’t like it; it hasn’t found a market. So one idea I had is to expand the project to be the whole New Testament. It would be The Chronological New Testament. What do you think?

I have ideas for the Book of Mormon, too.

The whole standard works could be done.

“My Scriptures.” It could be extremely customizable, print-to-order, each one unique. So you could pick and choose features. Maybe you don’t want the artwork, but you do want interlinear Greek. Maybe yes JST, no Greek; or maybe you want both. Sky’s the limit.

In Utah there are billboards (or at least one) for “Color Scriptures.” They just slap a different coloured cover on otherwise stock, standard, same-as-all-other scriptures. Presumably they are popular enough to pay for billboards. So… this would be a lot cooler than that! Maybe people would want?

My hope is that denizens of the LDS Freedom Forum will take interest in this and maybe even get excited about it. It could be a collaborative project, as collaborative as ye want. This book is just a beginning, but already as it is, is a significantly better way to read this portion of the scriptures (the four gospels).

So there’s some info. I’m inviting thoughts. And criticism — don’t be shy! It won’t hurt me, it will help.

Here, a sample of a couple pages showing how the JST could be done: as just an additional voice that pops in occasionally, unobtrusively, in the same way the gospels themselves do. Greek word notes could be done the same way (that’s the blue ones marked Gr and then the Strong’s number).

I think it's easier to do maps for the Gospels and Acts. Letters/Epistles less so, because they tend to be more abstract and less locational (despite their titles). Revelation kind of, because it is symbolic and does have references to real churches. Revelation would also be by far the hardest to illustrate. If you've ever seen JWs' books, their illustrations of Revelation tend to be pretty lurid and corny.

I mostly like what you're doing here, but always be careful with graphic design and overexplaining (or at least put it somewhere it doesn't interfere with the text. In some English editions of the Koran, they overexplain the Arabic which gets in the way of the flow of the original text.
