Hi, I’m AlwaysCurious
As my namesake implies, I am…
Always Curious.
I have been reading this forum for about ten years now, possibly a bit longer. Decided it was now a good time to make an account.
I will say this: The main reason I am creating an account instead of remaining a lurker is because the spirit told me that a specific person here has a message for me. If you don’t personal message me, I will personal message you once I have the ability.
However, I think creating an account and contributing here and there will be a good thing, hopefully for others as well as me.
I can bounce between being heavy and light (though I probably lean on the heavy such as this post with little to no humor or brevity) - sometimes between sentences… perhaps I used to bounce much more and am more heavy nowadays.
If I say something and you respond please do not be offended if I do not reply in a timely manner or do not reply at all - I am simply quite busy and… let’s just say some of the “discussions” or “arguments” just aren’t worth the time generally. I am not one to yell at a wall - but I can promise I will read every single thing you write that is directed to me that I receive a notification of some sort for.
I love the Church, and I don’t like the Church. I love doing missionary work for the church despite not believing “hook, line, and sinker”. It’s… complicated.
As most things in life.
I haven’t done an introduction before… here’s a few random tidbits:
Dog person, who also likes cats.
Love movies and shows and books with a very clear good and bad guy - my personal feelings are the real world is generally not that 100% crystal clear (to me) and I love the occasion that it is.
I think the Most High God is far more merciful than most people think.
I believe that we, meaning Humanity in general, is far too prideful and knows far less than it thinks it does. This goes for me as well.
I believe that we should search for our commonalities instead of our differences. Despite having some hard stances on random things - I am not offended if you disagree with me. To put it bluntly - I don’t question God. Mysterious are his ways. His depths few will come to know in this life, though I’m willing to bet he would extend it to more if we were but… truly willing, truly believing, truly faithful in heart, mind, and spirit.
As far as I know, I am not “special” in any way - basic simple truths and principals have been revealed to me. I may, at a later time, inspire a decent amount of people to follow Christ… but if I am to do that, I am in need to get my life in order.
I have much to improve, especially in needs of organization and setting priorities. If anyone has any methods for keeping physical things organized, and digital things organized and prioritized, I would be very much thankful.
I have a lot of work to be done - for myself, for my extended family, and hopefully later on - to many others in community and country.
Hopefully my first comment on the General Conference Predictions thread doesn’t incite animosity, as that’s not the intention. I intended for that to be humorous - as well as telling about who I am and what I believe and little quarks about myself.
I will try to respond to most questions or thoughts I find interesting on this thread since I have been the one to start it. If there’s something that is too personal or I don’t want to reveal I will state that it is so.
Much love,
AC

Re: Hi, I’m AlwaysCurious
I thought I would add - I have been in a funk for some time. Any and all encouragement in regards to motivation is helpful.
I have been ground down and trodden under foot many a time this year, and have been overwhelmed by what has happened - as well as what has been happening to those around me.
I have generally been operating my life at a much healthier frequency, but am severely lacking this last few months and have not been as positive despite my general nature and demeanor I have had throughout my life.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this forum - chances are I have read your words and been moved in one way or another by them.
We have a larger affect on the world than we think.

Using emojis on a Mac or MacBook is actually really easy. The default shortcut is Ctrl+CMD+Space.

With the quote you provided I wasn’t referencing any particular individual on the forum - just tendencies I have seen when people get “testy” on a particular topic - polygamy being one of those topics.BeNotDeceived wrote: ↑September 18th, 2023, 2:59 amThere was a time when people would respond to the DS, but not quote him for the purpose of evasion.Alwayscurious wrote: ↑September 17th, 2023, 11:06 pm As my namesake implies ≥..

It seems as if people are yelling at a wall back and forth consistently as neither one is actively listening to understand but instead listening to form a response to defend their position.
I don’t mean to belittle the discussion that might possibly be had by these people, but it is in effect yelling at a wall… which in my opinion would mostly have possible personal therapeutic effect for getting anger and other emotion out of your system (the same would apply to endless arguments where neither side can ever concede anything anonymously online). But… not something I need at this time in my life.
As for the DS type individual - not sure whom you are referring to? I assume DS is meaning Davidic Servant - and as far as my knowledge goes on that subject… I think that’ll be Joseph Smith himself somehow coming back… but I have not prayed about that specifically so it’s just my thoughts on the matter and not anything I personally am attached to but the theory seems to fit for me thus far.
I know there have been various individuals who have claimed various things over the years on this forum - I seem to recall one from maybe five or six years ago who claimed to be the DS - but don’t recall specifics.
Thank you for the reply and I apologize if I have misunderstood your message. I don’t look at every topic but there might be the occasional week where I see most things that are new.

Hmmmm. I didn’t attempt to use any emoji’s in any of my messages. I’m probably younger than most on this forum, but I’ve never understood emoji’s. They… don’t seem natural to me.BeNotDeceived wrote: ↑September 18th, 2023, 3:00 am Using emojis on a Mac or MacBook is actually really easy. The default shortcut is Ctrl+CMD+Space.

Looking at my few posts, I do use ellipsis frequently - perhaps it’s not coming through as I intended… I’ll have to view on a few different devices to see.
Thanks for the tip though! I didn’t even know that was a thing on Mac outside of iMessage. Could end up being useful possibly?

Good assessment. We often see this happen where 2 people go back and forth for pages defending their position. Neither person changes their mind.Alwayscurious wrote: ↑September 18th, 2023, 8:33 am

Ooooh! I think that person is me. The spirit told me he would send me someone who would give me ten grand.Alwayscurious wrote: ↑September 17th, 2023, 11:06 pm The main reason I am creating an account instead of remaining a lurker is because the spirit told me that a specific person here has a message for me.
Now remember, don't take my word for it. You have to pray and find out for yourself. If the spirit doesn't confirm my words, you have been deceived by a false spirit and we will all pray for you.

The Man Who Had Two Brains is a bizzaro type show, but I digress. Actually a missing type person, noticed said bat looking type similarity. is easy on my iOS type device, but I was clueless how emojis work on MacOS. So another instance of learning something new has occurred, thanks to you. Anyway the feet of my real life avatar are very red, as can be observed at the Smithsonian.
Does anyone know who said The Spirit is The Bat?

Re: Hi, I’m AlwaysCurious
I guess it can be as complicated as we make it. In some regards the church makes the gospel of Christ far more complicated than it needs to be. Maybe that’s where some of this confusion comes in.Alwayscurious wrote: ↑September 17th, 2023, 11:06 pm I love the Church, and I don’t like the Church. Re: Hi, I’m AlwaysCurious
The Spirit let me know that you are currently residing in Antarctica and I've sent a letter through USPS your way with double the amount and with a warning on the front that said, "Caution there is money in here please do not open!" The return address is Santa, so he deserves the money if USPS somehow isn't able to get it shipped there for the 20 cent stamp I put on it. I didn't get tracking because that would be an extra $2.Shawn Henry wrote: ↑September 19th, 2023, 2:47 pmOoooh! I think that person is me. Re: Hi, I’m AlwaysCurious
That's a good question. Many plans falling apart just as they were about to come to fruition is one of the things that got me in a funk.Blue Marble wrote: ↑September 19th, 2023, 3:17 pmWhat’s got you in this funk and what are you doing to conquer it?Alwayscurious wrote: ↑September 17th, 2023, 11:35 pm I thought I would add - I have been in a funk for some time. We have a larger affect on the world than we think.
Also - I think I've let myself age in the mind and become somewhat enamored with the things of the world as I've left my younger age. I definitely feel much older than I am.
As for what I'm doing to conquer it?
My first thing is trying to think positive thoughts - and blocking out all the negativity that I possibly can (from myself and others) and bring back my old belief that miracles happen to me.
My second thing has been to be more organized digitally. I've gotten my files and stuff I own digitally somewhat organized - and now I want to work on getting myself organized with my goals. It also needs to be a way to do that for free. I want to find an app that can let me prioritize multiple extremely different goals - personal and work and personal work - as well as help me schedule out times for everything to help me create an "outline" for my day and add that into my calendar in my phone.
EDIT: I'd also like the "free" app to not be harvesting my data within it if possible... but yeah. Probably fat chance of that.
EDIT 2: In addition I've been trying to pray more often. I feel that is where I lack most when it comes to the "basic" spiritual things.

I'm sure you'll figure it all out in no time like the present, as I'm sure you're late for a very important date.

For some reason George Washington Carver comes to mind though I doubt that's the answer! Though when I was young it seems as if the Spirit hit me with a metaphorical bat for me to listen initially - and I really needed that hard hit.BeNotDeceived wrote: ↑September 19th, 2023, 3:44 pmLast post first, becauseresembles a bat and a ball, and The Spirit is The Bat.
