Impeachment of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas
I hope you agree with me that the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, otta be impeached for dereliction of duty, and replaced by someone with determination to enforce U.S. immigration laws. It is my conviction that Mayorkas is intent on supporting continuation of mass migration into the USA. For these reasons I am asking that those of you reading this to please contact your respective members of Congress with a request that they initiate impeachment proceedings to remove Mr. Mayorkas from his position as DHS Secretary. Even if impeachment is not successful, and even if your congressional representative is supportive of the current open border situation, the actions we are suggesting will serve to alert more Americans to the danger of tis mass migration to our nation.
The U.S. House of Representatives has the sole power of impeachment. The U.S. Senate votes whether or not to convict.
To identify your congressional representative, simply go to this https://ziplook.house.gov/htbin/findrep_house

This is another one I am all over the map on. Sometimes I feel exactly as you do about illegal immigration. I read a chapter in one of Connor Boyack's books (I think it was Latter-Day responsibility) that largely softened my view about it.
Frankly I think the biggest problem is we dangle so many carrots for immigrants to come here. And, truth is, if it was simply the benefits of a strong economy and opportunity, we would be benefited by as many immigrants as wanted to come here. But it is absolutely wrong that we shower immigrants with so many financial benefits. And truth is those benefits should be tightened on most citizens as well.
Welfare benefits should be strictly limited to those who honestly CAN NOT work.
Recipients should be willing to work in any capacity they are asked to. If they simply refuse to do something that is within their capabilities, end benefits.
The welfare queens that just keep popping out babies for increased benefits (which often don't even go to helping the kids) SOMETHING needs to be done there. Sure exercise your "reproductive freedom" to your hearts content. You gonna be someone's "baby momma" then it is on you and them to provide for them. I know, "...but the children". It sounds cruel, but many of society's problems track back to kids "raised" in this environment, and there is an old adage that you get more of what you subsidize."

Re: Impeachment of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas
I am aware of a lot of LDS members who feel different than I do about accepting migrants illegally into the United States. Here in Maricopa County, Arizona there are many prominent Church members, including bishops and stake presidents, who contributed, at different times some years ago, to the replacement of a sheriff who was tough on illegals with one that, as far as I know, still will not enforce immigration laws against illegals, and the replacement of a president of the state senate with a senator who was supportive of illegal immigrants. People need to understand that illegal immigration has been for years fomented and supported by latter-day gadiantons like George Soros, Presidents Clinton, Bush, Obama, Biden, and their puppet masters, all of whom have worked hard toward the destruction of America as a constitutional republic.
1944 - 1946 I lived in a community in which considerable labour was performed by German POWs. Years later I had occasions to talk with former German and Italian POW, both in Germany, Italy, and as recent immigrants to America, and felt that any one of those men would make good American citizens. But while POWs, they were not allowed to run rampant. I remember in 1946 watching a German POW operating a road grader across the street from our home, accompanied by a guard with a shotgun. I asked the guard if he there to protect me from the German, and he replied "No, I'm here to protect him from you."

Re: Impeachment of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas
The perception of most is the immigrants are poor, hard working Mexicans, leaving the cartel areas. I'm actually quite fond of those I meet. sure I'm aware some are drug mules and such, but it is the others that people don't talk about that scare me, 20% are Chinese, and many Muslims coming here and they are not looking for a better life.
As said above, I wouldn't feel bad about letting hard working North Americans into the country to grow and work, but I don't think millions should be getting benefits. All our area is overrun with Chinese and Somalians. The Somalians pass around one child from lady to lady and all get SS as Obama gave Muslim refugees that cannot get a green card, not only the right to medical but also to SS if they have a child. You cannot get into the SS building for months due to the constant influx of these people draining SS. It is that kind of thing that bugs me as SS is supposed to be pay in and take out, not freebie for immigrants.

But the carrots are dangled in front of them for the thinly veiled purpose of bringing them in to increase the Democrat-Socialist/Communist voting block.Original_Intent wrote: ↑May 13th, 2023, 12:20 pm This is another one I am all over the map on. Tough for "we the peop[e" to remedy, when you're up against the power wielded by the 'Deep State', and the election/voter fraud they promulgate. Not too many Kari Lakes running around.Original_Intent wrote: ↑May 13th, 2023, 6:11 pmOf course. I feel you. I remind myself that the founding fathers were up against what seemed impossible odds as well. But indeed, with the surveillance state among many other problems it is difficult to know what a person could do.larsenb wrote: ↑May 13th, 2023, 6:43 pmTough for "we the peop[e" to remedy, when you're up against the power wielded by the 'Deep State', and the election/voter fraud they promulgate. My feeling is to prepare, to ignore unjust laws to the extent I can, to not aid and abet the unrighteous rulers to the best of my ability.

yeah well, we the people are doing many things I would like to stop. But, how? I pray about it and I don't get the response to set all out war against them yet, but that is what it will take. Every day I see how evil, lying, compromised and corrupt Joe Biden is. It is in plain sight of everyone, and nothing is ever done.

Re: Impeachment of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas
I think every country should be able to choose who comes in. I see some immigrants in this part of the world, and it is clear that they are not of good character or intelligence. Yet I also meet some who I like very much and who are an asset to the community.
It would be nice to be able to let the decent ones in and keep the bad 'uns out, regardless of their ethnic background. Those that come in should learn something about the local culture... that is what I would do if I moved into another country. Instead we have an open door policy in most western countries, just to let everyone in... and there's no debate allowed. The numbers should also be kept within moderate limits.

Re: Impeachment of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas
Back in 1974, my wife got her green card at the U.S. Consulate in Frankfurt/M, West Germany. The requirements for legal immigration, at least as applied to my wife, seemed very fair, "to let the decent ones in and keep the bad 'uns out"
It should be plenty obvious now that the LDGs are using mass, illegal immigration to destroy this country.

Re: Impeachment of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas
The growing number of migrants who are being allowed across the border and shipped across the country, with no end in sight, is dangerous. Texas cannot hold the amount of migrants they are taking in every day. It's a crisis that will affect not only our country's resources, but the safety of those migrants. Where can they possibly all go? Violence in Texas the last few weeks has shown this. It is the poor migrant people who are being killed by each other on our land. We can't take them all in. We can't protect them all. We can't even protect our little ones in their government schools.
I contacted my rep. Thank you for the suggestion.

The Lord allows it to happen. Part of the destruction decreed is the takeover of labor and resources by foreigners.Original_Intent wrote: ↑May 13th, 2023, 6:11 pmOf course. Isaiah 1:6
Your land is ruined,
your cities burned with fire;
your native soil is devoured by aliens in your presence,
laid waste at its takeover by foreigners.
Those of our leaders that cause it to happen are empowered by the Lord to judge a wicked nation.
Hard to say hallelujah when we see it tho, isn't it?

Re: Impeachment of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas
My mother was an immigrant from Europe. After WW2 she left her desolated country as a war widow with my oldest brother who was only three. She was a member of the underground, most definately in league with the allies, and single handedly saved thousands of Canadian lives as they liberated her country from the Nazis. She was also a concentration camp victim. She had starved down to 83 lbs, and after the war food was in short supply. And she was on the run from the communists.
Even she had to wait 2 years to get a boat to america, and she had to jump over two countries to get it.
She was requuired to have all her papers in order, a sponsor in the states, a job waiting for her, and proof of enough money to get there from New York. There were no freebies. No welfare of any kind.
When she arrived in Ellis Island, a physical exam was in order. If she or my brother didn't pass, they would get shipped back on the next transport. No way could they have left Ellis Island on their own.
She saw a Jewish Holocaust victim, who were first priority, get shipped back because he had a skin disease.
This was processing immigrants in an orderly fashion. It made coming to america seem special.
My mother told the rest of us kids who came later, about leaving Sweden for the USA and sailing a couple of weeks when the Captain announced on the intercom they would be docking in New York Harbor within the hour and to pack their bags and get up on deck to see the Statue of Liberty. Everyone did, and speedily, and all were on deck as the Statue of liberty came into view. Tears were in everyone's eyes and sobbing was heard as they passed by great beacon of liberty and freedom came into view.
My mother respected this country and the law. There is no liberty without law. I cannot abide criminals coming into the country. And if they are coming illegally, that's exactly what they are. While you can say " but they are nice and work hard", you must also admit the same is true of many a murderer and rapist in the prison system.
