Some truths are hard to take for EVERYONE, but especially for those who have accrued a lot of debt in deceiving themselves. Truth scares the hell out of them - literally.Bronco73idi wrote: ↑February 3rd, 2023, 1:39 pm…Boundaries are kept, not for my own health, for theirs. Like the story of living with the pathological liar, I would be persistent in the truth which would make them cry (mom) or aggressively abusive (sister).
It’s better to pluck out the eye that offends you then go to hell with it.
There is a reason why loving oneself is included in the greatest commandments & why airline stewardesses tell you in case of emergency to care for your own oxygen even before your child. It’s really difficult to, especially if you were raised to codependently put parents’ needs before your own. But as you mentioned, better not let others drag you down to hell. And better for them not to be given the opportunity to.
